Whew, Jim!! That was magnificent!! Some people need that little 'attitude adjustment' once in awhile. Some disagreement is fine, it would be dull on here without it. But some of this obnoxiousness aimed at our President, and other fine candidates is appalling! We just got this crap aimed at him and us, in Germany. We don't need that here. Maybe this little 'trip to the woodshed' talk will help them put things in perspective, eh? (grin)

So the primary objective of the gop is to defeat the democrats? Right?

Right - if we want to get anything through the senate, if we want to get conservative judges installed, if we want to keep the tax cut, if we want to control the environmentalists, if we want to drill in Anwar, if we want to prevent the U.S. being controlled by the U.N. and if we want a country that fights the terrorists insteading of ignoring them.

Bush has and is doing a lot more for conservatism than they ever thought of doing.

Yeah like out of control spending to historical purportions and allowing government to flourish to immense purportions. I've never seen so much government in my entire life.

Much of it was not forced upon Mr. Bush, but actually originated and was promoted by him with no prompting. He never asked for anything in return either like RR did.

He's been stellar on certain issues like the UN (certainly no globalist as some thought he'd be) and nearly perfect in Afghanastan, but he's been beyond a bitter disappointment on many very key issues.

The GOP can't continue to operate this way. Many formerly enthusiastic people are falling off the wagon.

Probably because a lot of us Republicans are also dedicated conservatives. But apparently not the type of conservative you approve of. Is this what you're driving at?

The president is the only person that is elected nationally. In the case of Bush he got about 25% of his vote from conservatives because many stayed at home after their guy lost in the primaries or voted 3rd party. The fact is that Bush is giving conservatives a higher level of support than we gave him.

I was sarcastically responding to the post made to me that inferred that libertarians are not conservatives.

I've found that if you call him out politely he'll retract the more egregious comments, which is better than you can say for some people.

Well, it might have helped if he had had a little support.

Maybe he doesn't agree with every thing you wish. Maybe he looks at some things differently. Also, we have a war going on. We have to protect the homeland, we have to build up the military, we have to create new ways to insure the safety of American citizens.

This is exactly what I expect him to do. Every war has been very costly and this one will not be any different.

None of us agree with everything Bush does.

However, I elected the best man running. It turned out he was a lot better than I thought.

Now, he did not ask me what I wanted him to do, he stated what he planned to do. Guess he feels that he is the guy that ran, he has some beliefs in what he wants to see done same as you and me, and he is the guy who has to get the item pushed through. Maybe he has a right to enact some things he believes in - such as compassionate conservatism, faithbased initiatives, tax cuts and education reforms.

Now, which president gave you everything you wanted? Which president went in and took the government back 15 years? Which one went in and threw out all social programs, all government controls?

Libertarians are NOT Conservatives. They're CINOS.

Some , here, have finally figured that out / had enough of them , have decided that they've had enough of the LP's positions, pack that party in, and come back to the ONLY Conservative party. Others, like you, just need more time to decide whether you are a REAL Conservative, or not.

Does someone have to always vote Republican to be a conservative? How do you define a conservative? Someone who just blindly votes in Republicans?

How do you define "conservative"? I seriously would like to know since you are on record as pro-abortion, pro drug legalization and an outspoken animal rights adherent.

Since you aren't even old enough to vote, don't worry about it.

Real Conservatives, not CINOS, want many similar things. The ONLY way to get even a few of the things, that we want, there is but one way and for the time being, that is to elect Republicans. If you can only talk about Conservative positions and you do NOTHING, to get them enacted, you are only aiding and abetting Liberals.

Maybe you'll understand that, when you grow up.

I define a conservative as somebody who wants to return to a constitutionally limited gov't. But lately, conservative has come to mean someone who wants the government to endorse their big money guzzling programs instead of those of the liberals.

I am against abortion after the first trimester. I am against prohibition. And I don't think that we should treat animals shoddily before humans consume them.

What if she's "grown up?"

Or is "grown up" a subjective standard that you apply arbitrarily when you aren't castigating posters for their bad grammar, lack of historical learning, lack of understanding of law and lack of good breeding and etiquette.

We can't all be daughters of the Mayflower born in to affluence and married to captains of industry merrily passing our time drinking mint juleps and watching the "little people" day trade on the market while the "players" pass important information to the likes of the Gold Coast regulars.

She's all of 17, she isn't " grown up " , and she has a lot of learning still to do.

As for tyhe rest of your silly, jealous sounding, delusional rant ( it says far more about YOU , than you hoped it would say about me ... and get your crystal ball fixed, BTW ) ... you haven't a clue.

What's the matter? Are you jealous because he won; and one of the others didn't? This rant sounds to me like you're mad, because many honest Americans voted for him, and supported him. You didn't want him, so you go on trashing him. You know what? Some conservatives didn't want R.Reagan either, from what I understand.

They complained constantly because they thought he went along with the Democrats too much. He had to play a give and take game with them, because he was their President too. He sometimes had to compromise to get at least some of his agenda passed. He said that conservatives were mad at him because he had to bargain with the Democrats on some issues.

He was a wonderful conservative president, but he was a practical one. He had been a Democrat at one time, so he understood them. He had a Dem. majority in both houses, so he would have understood what GWB is going through with them. Some people on here would've bashed him just as mercilessly as you do GWB now!

I am counting on many Americans standing up and voting the rats out this November. I have visions of a landslide for our side!

I pray for this, as well, my friend, and for the shingles to fall off the sheeps' eyes, which is my constant desire and prayers.
