All-tme champs at getting trophy husbands: Edith Piaf & Mae West.
Careful, Sweetie. If you've read the entire thread, you must be aware that I have my BS detector on.
Some days I feel like it has been many more years than I've actually seen. But the important part, is that I am still young at heart. (Closer to 60 than I am to 50)
I don't understand. At my university we set aside positions for women and minorities, and white men can't apply for them. So why do you think we don't have a caste system?
You've got that right. Interesting comments, tho.
I like men, and as soon as I can afford one, I will procure one.In the meantime, I will trust my weapon to protect me from the men who feel the need to force me to have at least one man laying about the house...
Does it not strike you odd that women generally need men, to defend themselves against other men? I would prefer my partner to stand with me, side by side, or back to back. I am not fond of the "veil" mentallity.
But in an effort to respect your views, I am willing to swear an oath to NOT defend you, specifically.Any action I may take which inadvertantly tends to support you should be viewed as unintended consequences.I would not dream of offending your belief in male supremacy by saving your but under any circumstances. ;^)
Brainwashing women and the rest of humanity into believing that being a corporate vice president is more impressive than being a homemaker and mother is a bigger waste of human potential--and destructive to the happiness of both sexes and their children (if any).
We may not agree with the choices some women are making, but in the land of the free is it not right that they have the ability to make choices at all?
And we reserve the right to demean those choices when they are destructive to the proper roles of men and women in a healthy, strong, and happy society, just as the proponents of women's liberation demand the right to celebrate that which is destructive.
What the hell has happened to this board in the past couple of years?
I don't know about this board--but I ask how long can we as a society can afford to ignore human nature by suffering all this equality nonsense.
THE math isn't hard. No society that oppresses half its population - the female half - can compete with a society that exploits the majority of its talents.
Worse, countries that revel in gender oppression consistently waste even more talent by excluding males who weren't born into the right families or tribes from the possibility of social and economic advancement. Woman-hating cultures, such as those of Saudi Arabia or Pakistan, also fit a pattern of stifling the freedom of expression, shortchanging education, imposing a harsh religious orthodoxy, employing corruption as a tool of social control and blaming others for home-grown ills. This is not a formula for success in the 21st century.
If there is any single indicator of which societies will succeed or fail in the coming decades, it is the status of women. Societies where the girls get a fair shot at beating the boys at soccer, university studies or software writing are going to leave those whose sexual terrors are expressed in veils and an obsession with virginity in the dust.
Oh, and those 70 virgins? Sounds like a lot of dreary work to me. I'll take one American career-woman any day (ain't nothing like a major babe in a tailored suit who picks up the dinner tab).
Interesting arguement. When I read this on the NYC subway this morning, I immediately recognised the genius of its enlisting women voters into the war, without which we won't win. It's very clever propaganda, but for our side.
