Count on a Tim Johnson victory in SD this year. I hope you're wrong! SD did go for Bush in 2000, so there is hope, I suppose. I haven't seen the latest SD poll numbers. Last I heard I thought we were doing pretty good (within MoE).

Both Dakotas tend to go Republican for president (since 1968) and Democrat for senator. Maybe the people there are part of the 60 percent in the poll who actually say that they believe the government works better with one party in control of the White House and the other party in control of Congress. That attitude is why we conservatives accomplish so little.

Oddly enough the fact that Jumpin' Jim Jeffords caused the Senate to be run by the Demmycrats will actually HELP the Republicans to regain control in November. Why? Because the Demmycrats went overboard and started blocking almost all judicial nominees in committee from going to the Senate floor. Result is that it rubs the public the wrong way. Example: The fact that the female judicial nominee from Texas was blocked in Demmycrat controlled committee is sure to HURT Kirk in Texas.

The GOP is going to have to get the message out if her trashing is going to make a difference. TV ads. Radio talk shows.
