Further in Daniel Chapter 7 this is the explanation that is given.

23 "He gave me this explanation: 'The fourth beast is a fourth kingdom that will appear on earth. It will be different from all the other kingdoms and will devour the whole earth, trampling it down and crushing it. 24 The ten horns are ten kings who will come from this kingdom. After them another king will arise, different from the earlier ones; he will subdue three kings. 25 He will speak against the Most High and oppress his saints and try to change the set times and the laws.

Terrible Beast with 10 horns
Rome and its 10 Divisions

The ten horns on the exceedingly dreadful beast represent ten kings. They are 1. Alemani (Germany), the 2. Franks (France), 3. Burgundians (Switzerland), the 4.Suevi (Portugal), the 5. Anglo-Saxons (Britian), the 6. Visigoths (Spain), The 7. Lombards (Italy), the 8. Vandals, 9. Ostrogoths, and 10. Heruli. The last three (the Vandals, Ostrogoths, and the Heruli) were destroyed by the Pope of Rome because they refused to become "Christians". The armies of Emperor Justinian, in cooperation with the Pope, thrust the Ostrogoths out of the city of Rome. They became extinct. In 538 AD the Pope took possession of the city after the Emperor decreed that the pope should be the head of all the Christian churches.

Little Horn uproots Three of the ten horns on the terrible beast.

1. Vandals, 2. Ostrogoths, and 3. Heruli, did not believe in the Trinity, in 538 Emperor Justinian, in cooperation with the Pope, thrust the Ostrogoths out of the city of Rome. They have become extinct. In 538 AD the Pope took possession of the city after the Emperor decreed that he should be the head of all the Christian churches.

DANIEL 7:20 And of the ten horns that were in his head, and of the other which came up, and before whom three fell, even of the horn that had eyes, and a mouth that spake very great things, whose look was more stout than his fellows.

Three phases of the beast power in history

Daniel 7

1. 1st Phase of the Papal power "was" 538-1798 decreed rule and decreed death.

2. 2nd Phase of the Papal power "is not" - 7 kings, 1798 to the 8th papal name. (1. Pius 2. Leo 3. Gregroy 4. Benedict 5. John 6. Paul 7. John Paul)

3. 3rd Phase of the Papal power "Yet is" under the 8th Papal name since 1798

Daniel 7 - the fourth beast called the terrible beast with 10 horns, the angel told Daniel this was the fourth kingdom from Babylon to rule the earth. Rome the fourth world kingdom is represented here. Rome had 10 divisions. Daniel has shown 3 of the 10 horns uprooted by the little horn power in Daniel 7, so we must look for three of the 10 divisions to be uprooted. Three of the 10 divisions on the Roman empire were Arian in Belief. The Arians refused the authourity of the Bishop of Rome ( Pope) These three Arians were called 1. Vandals 2. Heruli 3. Ostrogoths, the last of these three Ostrogoths were destroyed by Justinian a Roman General under orders of the Pope in Rome in 538 AD. In 538 the last Ostrogoths was defeated, thus the last of the three horns were uprooted. This begins the time peroid of the little horn that uproots the three horns in Daniel 7. The little horn power Daniel 7:11 is also called a beast, it continues for 1260 prophetic years. War is made on Gods people. 538 AD is the decreed marker in Daniel 7 for the Papal to begin its 1260 prophetic years given it by God. Although the papacy lived in Rome previous to 538 AD, Daniel marks the beginning of the 1260 prophetic time when the 3 horns are uprooted by the little horn power. In Daniel 7 the little horn power continues to survive and is in power at the end of time when Christ returns to destroy it. The little horn was given 1260 prophetic years of time, so 538 AD + 1260 years = 1798 AD at this time Napoleon was setting out to conquer Europe, he was running out of war money, in 1798 Napolean sent his general Berthier into Rome capturing Pius VI and helping himself to the Gold in Rome. Napoleon issued a decree that the Papacy was dead and no further election of Pope's was to occur. Pius VI died in France. So you see 538AD-1798AD is the 1260 prophetic years alotted the Papacy by God in it's first phase.

2nd phase called "is not" Phase, loss of Political power as previous to 1798, and ascending Rev. 17:8

2nd phase of the Papacy in Revelation 17:8 The BEAST "is not" referring to the time just after 1798 when the Papacy had lost its power as prior to 1798. Revelation speaks of the mystery saying the 7 heads on the (Papal) BEAST are 7 mountains and are 7 kings. So we should look for 7 Papal names after 1798 that is after Pius VI was captured. And indeed there has been 7 Papal names used.

7 kings = 1. Pius 2. Leo 3. Benedict 4. Gregory 5. John 6. Paul 7. John Paul

By adding all the Popes in history starting with the first name Pius, we begin the count with Pius I elected AD 140 just a few years after John wrote Revelation. By using these 7 Papal names we get a count of 665 as of the 7th Papal name since 1798 - John Paul II. Notice the count involves the total history of Pagan and Papal Rome, since Popes were elected to office early in the Christian era. This count shows divine design. Only God could have picked out 7 name's to bring this count to 665.

The 7 Papal names used since 1798: 1. Pius 12 Pope's, 2. Leo 13 Pope's, 3. Gregory 16 Pope's, 4. Benedict 14 Pope's, 5. John 21 Pope's, 6. Paul 6 Pope's, 7. John Paul 2 Pope's

Now count them up name by name:
1. Pius 1+2+3+4+5+6+7+8+9+10+11+12= 78
2. Leo 1+2+3+4+5+6+7+8+9+10+11+12+13= 91
3. Gregory 1+2+3+4+5+6+7+8+9+10+11+12+13+14+15+16=136
4. Benedict 1+2+3+4+5+6+7+8+9+10+11+12+13+14= 105
5. John 1+2+3+4+5+6+7+8+9+10+11+12+13+14+15+16+17+18+19+20+ 21= 231
6. Paul 1+2+3+4+5+6= 21
7. John Paul 1+2=3

78 + 91 + 136 + 105 + 231 + 21 + 3 = 665 as of John Paul II, meaning the next pope will be a new papal name making a count of 1 + 665 = 666

Revelation 17 speaks of a third time peroid "YET IS" describes it as the 8th and goes into perditon. A new Papal name.

"YET IS" Or the 8th.
The 8th goes into perdition and makes war on Gods people. 10 kings are mentioned as being given power 1 hour (Greek a short time) with the BEAST and making war on the lamb, those who are with the lamb are called faithful and choosen, meaning God's people. The lamb overcomes the BEAST. God reveals the deception and the 10 kings turn on the BEAST eat her flesh and burn her with fire. The judgement of God on the Great Whore being the 7 vials of Gods wrath.

7 ways to identify the little horn

1. LOCATION: Daniel 7: 8 The little horn develops among ten nations of Europe into which Rome divided.

2. TIME OF ARISE: Daniel 7: 8,20,24 It would arise after the breakup of the Roman Empire-that is, after the fifth century AD. Further, it would arise after three of the ten horns had been uprooted. Three of the barbarian kingdoms that arose out of Rome espoused the views of Arius, who denied the divinity of Chist. All the other barbarian kingdoms came to accept the Catholic faith. From AD 476 on, the three Arian powers dominated portions of the territory of Rome, but each in turn met defeat as the rulers of the Eastern Roman Empire rallied to support the Roman Church in the West. In 533 AD Justinian, the emperor of the Eastern Empire, legally recognized the bishop (POPE) of Rome as the head of all the Christian churches, but because of the Arian domination of Rome, the pope had no opportunity to actually exercise his civally recognized power. Finally, in 538AD Belisarius, one of Justinian's generals, routed the Ostrogoths, the last of the Arian powers from the city of Rome. Thus, by the military intervention of the Eastern Empire, the pope was freed from the dominating influence of states that restrained his activities in the civil sphere. The date AD 538 plays an important part in identifying who this power is as we shall see under number 7.

3. ITS NATURE: Daniel 7:7,8,24 Compared with other horns the little horn was diverse, or different, it was "STOUT" or great. It exercised more than political power. Its attention to religious issues characterizes this power as a combined religious and political system.

4. ATTITUDE TOWARD GOD: Daniel 7: 8,20,23 The ltttle horn would "speak great words against God. ( compare Daniel 8:23 Daniel 11:36, 2 Thessalonians 2:4; Revelation 13:5

5. ATTITUDE TOWARDS GOD'S LAW: Daniel 7:25 It would view God's Law as needing changes, and would attempt to make changes in that law by its own authority. Papal Rome did, in fact champion Sunday as a holy day instead of the seventh-day Sabbath ordained by God in His law.

6. ATTITUDE TOWARDS GOD'S PEOPLE: Daniel 7:21,25. This system would persecute "the saints of the Most High". Those whom papal Rome considered heretical faced civil punishment. History attests that millions were put to death under this religiopolitical system. Church historian David Schaff summed up papal Romes' persecuting activities in these words. "Down to the very close of the Middle Ages, the pages of history were disfigured by decrees of popes and synods, confirming death as the penalty for heresy, and for persons supposed to be possessed with witchcraft. The great council of Constance, 1415, did not get away from the atmosphere and ordered heretics punished even by the flames. And the hall of Leo X 1520 condemning Luther cursed as heresy the Reformer's literal statement that the burning of heretics is contary to the will of the Spirit". History of the Christian church. Vol V part 1. p. 524.

7. LENGTH OF TIME PERMITTED TO RULE: Daniel 7:25 The little horn would rule a times, time, and dividing of time. The prophecies of Revelation provide the key to this symbolic period. There the same period of a "time, and times, and half a time" (Revelation 12:14) is equated with the 1260 days (verse 6). From this we see a time equals 360 days. In symbolic prophecy each day stands for a year according to Ezekiel 4: 5,6. For 1260 years, then the little horn would exercise its soveignty over God's people and His law through civil channels. This period began in 538, as we have seen. Exactly 1260 years later in 1798, the French general Berthier entered Rome, declared a republic, and after taking the pope prisoner, proclaimed the political rule of the Papacy to be at an end. The book of Revelation later amplified on this loss of power by calling it a "deadly wound". But according to Revelation this wound was to be healed, and all the world would yet be awed by Rome as it manifested a comeback, a resurgence of power (Revelation 13:3). Thus the 1260 years denoted only the period of supremacy in Romes' long history during which God allowed this system to demonstrate its principles, policies, and objectives. It should be emphasized that the little horn represents a system, a church-state combination, a religious power that would grasp civil power to enforce certain beliefs and practices. Because the Papacy did use such civil power as the prophecy predicted does not by any means bring individual Roman Catholics under condemnation. Multitudes of Roman Catholics have followed Christ as best they knew, and many have exhibited a true devotion to the cross. But the papal system during its years of supremacy did singularly fulfill the prophecy of Daniel 7.

I realize this post covers more than what you spoke of, but its complex and many things needed to be brought forward.

One thing that you have lost me on is how come in Daniel you equate the time to be 1260 years and the same time that was mentioned in John is 1260 days? What is the difference between the two? I have read them to mean the same time frame. I have not had the chance to go through the table of popes and will probably not do so until later tonight when the kids are asleep.

I had often wondered how a whole country could allow what happened to happen. Only after talking to Nana about it did I realize how subtle it was and how most people never had a clue and as she said once they did it was to late. And many with the propaganda that he fed them really believed the stuff that Hitler had brainwashed them with. He got them in youth camp at an early age. At first he was their hero. He saved the country economically. Once his power was intact he turned and showed himself to be the monster he really was.

Jesus stated plainly that he would not have an earthly kingdom.

Actually, when you use that entire quote, it becomes even more clear what christ was getting at:

"The kingdom of God does not come with your careful observation, nor will people say, 'Here it is,' or 'There it is,' because the kingdom of God is within you." Luke 17:21

If you believe that Daniel 7 has already been fulfilled as the Calvinist do then, do you also believe that this is God's Kingdom? You see I do not believe that the saints, the people of the Most High are ruling the earth. Nor in any way shape or form do I believe that the rulers of the earth now worship and obey the Most High.

I do not believe in such a kingdom little children will be torn from their mothers womb and destroyed. Nor do I believe that six year old little girls will be killed. I see so much evil and deception in this earth that I know in my heart that in the Kingdom of God it will not be allowed. This king or ruler mentioned in Daniel 7 is to rule until this time.

26 " 'But the court will sit, and his power will be taken away and completely destroyed forever.
27 Then the sovereignty, power and greatness of the kingdoms under the whole heaven will be handed over to the saints, the people of the Most High. His kingdom will be an everlasting kingdom, and all rulers will worship and obey him.'

No. We are still waiting for that 8th king (Pope, remember?) Certain aspects have already been fulfilled, but there are a few things left yet, but they occur after we get the next pope with the new papal name. We'll have to watch and see if this person does indeed take an 8th name.

Let me run something past you. We have been dealing with Daniel and Revelation. Both prophetic books. What IF..., IF Daniel pertains to one future event say X years into the future, and Revelation pertains to a similar yet different event, y years into the future?

It's just possible that Daniel pertains to Rome/RCC and Revelation pertains primarily to the USA, with some mention of Rome/RCC. Both having similar events many years apart.

Thoughts?

22 I will place on his shoulder the key to the house of David; what he opens no one can shut, and what he shuts no one can open.

If you read Isaiah 22, you will see that the king of the House of David strips the "keys of the kingdom" from his vice-regent (or prime minister) and gives them to a new vice-regent. The king's vice regent actually carried a key in a pouch worn over his shoulder representing his authority. The vice-regent enjoyed full plenary authority in the king's abscence.

In Revelation, we see that Jesus is the ultimate "keeper of the keys":

Revelation 3:7
"To the angel of the church in Philadelphia write: These are the words of him who is holy and true, who holds the key of David. What he opens no one can shut, and what he shuts no one can open."

In Matthew we see that Jesus changes Simon's name and gives him the keys.

Matthew 16:19
"I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven; whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven."

The keys represent an office. The holder of an office is succeeded in office. The historical record shows that Peter was succeeded. In other words, Scripture clearly shows that Jesus established Peter's primacy and office as Jesus' vice-regent or representative in His "absence."

According to Bishop Papias, (Papi/av), c. 125:

"Matthew compiled the reports in a Hebrew manner of speech, but each interpreted them as he could."

Matthew wrote in Hebrew, or more likely, in Aramaic which is a Hebrew dialect that was the language of Jesus' day. He did not write the original Gospel in Greek!

It is obvious that whoever wrote a book called Matthew, the book now known to Christianity and which opens the New Testament was obviously rewritten in Greek by some later person. (most likely written by a Gentile or heavily edited by one) It was probably at that time that the now-cherished traditions of the birth and death accounts were tacked onto the sayings of Jesus! This is also probably when they tried to de-judaize Jesus. jmo

This is what Papias says about Mark:
"And the presbyter would say this: Mark, who was indeed Peter's interpreter, accurately wrote as much as he remembered, yet not in order, about that which was either said or did by the Lord. For he neither heard the Lord nor followed him, but later, as I said, Peter, who as necessary would make his teachings but not exactly an arrangement of the Lord's reports, so that Mark did not fail by writing certain things as he recalled. For he had one purpose, not to omit what he heard or falsify them."

Begs the question. Just who is this Mark? And since this Mark, is an interpreter for Peter, that means that the Gospel of Mark (deceptively named), isn't even giving a first hand account. Also notice he wrote down the sayings and deeds of Jesus, which exclude the birth and death accounts as we now have them. Now if the "sayings or deeds" of Jesus were all that Mark wrote down, and if, as so many authorities now assert, the Gospels of Matthew and Luke are based on Mark, from where did the genealogies and the birth and death narratives in the Gospels come from? Even with these questions, keep in mind that this particular "Mark" wasn't personally present at the events and sayings he reports.

The first New Testament was assembled by Marcion in 140 C.E.:
Here are some of the passages which are NOT found in Marcion's Gospel of Christ in his "first" New Testament:

* The birth of John the Baptist.
* The birth of Jesus.
* The baptism of Jesus.
* Jesus' genealogy of Luke 3:23-38.
* The temptation narrative of Luke 4:1-13.
* Jesus' preaching at Nazareth in Luke 4:16-30.

"Marcion, rejected the entire Old Testament. He accepted the following Christian writings in this order:

In his opinion the 12 apostles misunderstood the teaching of Christ, and, holding him to be the Messiah of the Jewish God, falsified his words from that standpoint. Passages that Marcion could regard only as Judaizing interpolations, that had been smuggled into the text by biased editors, had to be removed so the authentic text of Gospel and Apostle could once again be available. After these changes, the Gospel according to Luke became the Evangelicon, and the 10 Pauline letters, the Apostolikon.

Marcion rejected the following Christian writings:

Looks more like Marcion should have called his 'New Testament', the Gospel of Paul.

In Galatians 2:1-10,  Paul gives more information about the pre-eminence of James in the confrontation in Antioch that follows his discussion of what transpired in Jerusalem in regard to 'the Gospel as he proclaimed it among the Gentiles.'
This event is also called the Jerusalem Council, and its parrallel is in Acts 15.

13   And after they had held their peace, James answered, saying, Men and brethren, hearken unto me:
14   Simeon hath declared how God at the first did visit the Gentiles, to take out of them a people for his name.

Galatians 2:6,9

Paul must have forgotten about this part:

James was the successor of Jesus.  James was the Leader of the Jerusalem Community (Assembly) and of the Church as a whole.  James was the Head of Christianity of his day, whatever this may have been said to be.  Bishop of Jerusalem is not simply one among equals, but the leader.  This is why Paul resented James so much, and it is why James sent others to spy on Paul.  And this is why Peter left the table at Antioch.  If Peter had been 'in charge', why feel guilty about breaking table fellowship with genitles?  Answer, because James was in charge and Head of the Church

Galatians 2
11   But when Peter was come to Antioch, I withstood him to the face, because he was to be blamed.
12   For before that certain came from James, he did eat with the Gentiles: but when they were come, he withdrew and separated himself, fearing them which were of the circumcision.
13   And the other Jews dissembled likewise with him; insomuch that Barnabas also was carried away with their dissimulation.

The left because James who was in authority sent people to check up on things in Antioch, and they got caught with their hands in the cookie jar so to speak.

The thing that hit me in Daniel 7 about beast number four is that it is different and diverse from the others. Plus this beast is suppose to rule until the end just as John's beast is also to rule to the end. Both are going to persecute the saints for the same number of time. Both have ten kings. I have no doubt that the Roman Empire is mentioned in other Chapters or it could even be one of the first three beast mentioned. But that fourth one will rule until the end just as John's will rule until the end.

As far as John's beast I believe that if we are indeed in the end-times, that the beast, the first beast is the UN. In Daniel it is interesting that he talks about the anti-Christ confirming a covenant. Who made this covenant? It could be the UN brokered the deal and he will inforce or confirm it. He will most likely be head of the UN or something and that I believe is Daniel's little horn and John's second beast. The Mystery Babylon does sound like us because of our wealth. Becuase we also made the UN what it is with our money. And we have spent US money in many bad ways to corrupt the rest of the world through the UN.

This is a part of an article which appeared in Europe yesterday. This particular paragraph I found to fit in with what we were discussing regarding John and the Mystery Babylon, and how it will impact the merchants of the earth when she is destroyed.

From earlier post:  Daniel 7:7,8,24 Compared with other horns the little horn was diverse, or different, it was "STOUT" or great. It exercised more than political power. Its attention to religious issues characterizes this power as a combined religious and political system.

Which makes Papal Rome different than the others because it is more authoritative than the rest, stronger than the rest, in control of the rest, having power over the rest.

Plus this beast is suppose to rule until the end just as John's beast is also to rule to the end.

You forget the deadly head wound, which is a healing time.   The book of Revelation later amplified on this loss of power by calling it a "deadly wound". But according to Revelation this wound was to be healed, and all the world would yet be awed by Rome as it manifested a comeback, a resurgence of power


Revelation 13

1   And I stood upon the sand of the sea, and saw a beast rise up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and upon his horns ten crowns, and upon his heads the name of blasphemy.
2   And the beast which I saw was like unto a leopard, and his feet were as the feet of a bear, and his mouth as the mouth of a lion: and the dragon gave him his power, and his seat, and great authority.
3   And I saw one of his heads as it were wounded to death; and his deadly wound was healed: and all the world wondered after the beast.

We are in the midst of that healing time.  Revelation is talking about two events.  The first part seems to coincide with Daniel, then there is the head wound, then the healing and return of power.  The IS, IS NOT, YET IS.  When the '8th new name pope' is in power, the 2nd event/phase of Revelation kicks in, thus the beast will regain its power and rule until the end.

The Mystery Babylon does sound like us because of our wealth. Becuase we also made the UN what it is with our money. And we have spent US money in many bad ways to corrupt the rest of the world through the UN.

Which do you consider to be worse:  Corruption of people with money, or corruption of the soul through false doctrine?  Corruption of the physical, or corruption of the spirit?

Gorbi also through the UN has his united religion. Did you know at the room at the UN for worship they have statues of Jesus, Buda , Mohammad and other things for other religions in a circle and there in the middle of the circle is a statue of the snake.

I just don't see Rome having the power that the UN has. I forget the name of Gorbi's religion thing that is suppose to be fully implemented in 2003. The building is suppose to be in San Francisco either near or on the grounds at the Presidio. I see this tolerance and all religions have the same god. This melting and meeting and converging all religions together as being the end-time false religion. Now if it may be another 200 years or something then maybe the power structure may be different. But as the power structure now stands Rome and the Vatican do not have the power. The Vatican has influence but not the power that Gorbi or the UN has.

I was trying to find something on a Father Malachi. Seems he had visions or prophecies pertaining to popes and that they were very accurate. Still searching, but I did find this that you might find interesting.

It's the last interview with Father Malachi Martin (not the Malachi I am looking for). What he says, sort of ties both your ideas and my ideas together. Though he speaks of the EU not the UN. Ever since Nimrod and the Tower of Babel, the Power Elite have never given up on their feverish dream of a One World Government.

Former Jesuit Malachi Martin's novel, Windswept House (Doubleday/ Main Street Books), offers a lurid behind the scenes look at a cabal of Vatican insiders who want to use the Roman Catholic Church as a foundation for a politico-religious New World Order.

The plot of the novel involves a group of Church officials who scheme with a group of like-minded corporate executives to manipulate the Church into a ready-made infrastructure for a One World Religion -- a universal umbrella for everybody from Episcopalians to voodoo practitioners.

The new ecumenicalism is clothed in Globalist garb. The agenda includes promoting issues like population control, environmentalism and secular humanism, which the plotters hope will eventually lead to the complete secularization of religion.

The most outrageous and controversial premise of the novel -- described in great detail in the prologue -- is that a ceremony was performed in the Vatican in 1963 -- an occult ritual which enthroned the fallen archangel Lucifer as the head of the Roman Catholic Church.

Does Dr. Martin believe that this enthronement actually took place in his novel, which could liberally be described as a roman a clef?

"Yes, it did," he says emphatically. "Beyond a shadow of a doubt in my mind. But now the place, time, hour etc., are all obfuscated to protect the guilty and save the innocent."

Was it common knowledge in the Vatican at the time? "Not common knowledge," explains Martin. "But I found out about it by being a member of the Vatican circles that learned these things. It's like everything else. I'm sure there are people floating around Washington, and they know an awful lot about what's going on. Someone says, 'how do you know that'? Well, it's just... we know it."

The story of Windswept House continues in present day Europe as an international group of conspirators spanning Church and State, plots a one world government on behalf of Lucifer. So are readers to infer that no matter what happens, the Pope and the Church hierarchy are bound to serve the fallen angel?

"No," explains Dr. Martin. "What it means is that for the moment, Lucifer the biggest archangel, the leader of the revolt against God, has a big in with certain Vatican officials. Enthronement doesn't mean that he rules. It means that they did their best to put him there. The ideal would be to have their man as Pope. In that case then Satan would be enthroned."

The book goes on to describe how two brothers, one a priest and the other an investment banker, grapple with these awesome consequences as pawns in the game. Meanwhile the cabal of Globalist-oriented Vatican officials and European-based internationalists try to corner the Pope into voluntary resignation so that they can get their man in the Chair of Peter.

This theme coincidentally is also the basis, albeit in non-fiction form, of Martin's book The Keys of This Blood: Pope John Paul II Versus Russia and the West for Control of the New World Order.

The upshot? A One World Government is a fait accompli, he infers. What Dr. Martin calls the "millennium endgame" is a competition for a new global hegemony by the key Globalist players. What's interesting is that the novel appears to be a seamless transition from his previous non-fiction work. The reader then is put in the position of concluding that the New World Order is a done deal, that a One World Government is here and now and, as the expression goes, it's all over but the crying.

But you wouldn't expect Globalist agit-prop from a former Jesuit. Or would you?

And Who Is Malachi Martin?

Author of 15 books on religious and geo-political topics, Malachi Martin is highly regarded and respected as a world renowned scholar.

Trained in theology at Louvain, he received his doctorates in Semitic Languages, Archaeology and Oriental History. He subsequently studied at Oxford and Hebrew University in Jerusalem. From 1958 to 1964, he served in Rome, where he was a close associate of the Jesuit cardinal Augustin Bea and Pope John XXIII, as well as a professor at the Vatican's Pontifical Biblical Institute.

Malachi Martin is the author of many best-selling books including Vatican, Hostage to the Devil, The Jesuits, The Final Conclave, and The Keys of This Blood. Also he was a Roman Catholic priest of the Society of Jesus until 1964 when he left the Jesuits. Why?

"It was a grave decision," he says. "I could see the way the Church was going, the way churchmen were going in their decisions and all the anchors I had for morality and zeal were being undone. Then when the Vatican Council started in 1962, I could see the way the flow of opinion was going in the Vatican by a group of cardinals from Belgium, Germany and France. They were maneuvering the Church into totally new ecclesiology. I couldn't accept this."

As an advisor to three Popes, Dr. Martin has had his fair share of romanita, that uniquely Roman methodology of connivance and power politicking. "I started off as an advisor on Judaism," he continues. "I was trained in Semitic languages and I spent a year and a half studying the Talmud... Then my superiors in Rome also found that I understood Judaism very well. They wanted someone to explain it, since they were studying the whole question of Jewish-Christian relations. So I was drafted into helping with that."

And the outcome? "They produced a document in which they sort of absolved the Jewish people of the death of Christ."

Based on his research? "No, not on my research," argues Martin. "I was only a cog in the wheel. I didn't agree with the final document either. It went too far. And then there were conclusions about the need for Catholics to study Judaism and get to know them better."

So this was the ecumenicalization of the Church that was going on?

"That's it in one word," concurs Martin. "And I couldn't agree with the total effect of all that because I thought they went too far."

Dr. Martin was also involved with Vatican intelligence. What did he do? "Just assessing things in Israel, whatever anti-Christianity there was amongst the Israelis. There was and still is. And what was the position of the Arabs. I used to live in Jordan and Lebanon and Egypt. I knew those places very well and could assess the position of the Church and the various Christian communities."

The many-talented Dr. Martin is also known as a practicing exorcist and has even written a book about the subject called Hostage to the Devil.

He says he came up against evil as a force in the world in an uncontrovertible undeniable way in his first exorcism.

"I was in Cairo and it was evil," Dr. Martin recalls.

"You know you only have to enter its presence, or for it to enter your presence to know that you are in the presence of something which is summarily evil."

"It's invisible. You can't see it. But you know it wants you dead. Dead. Dead. And in a horrible way," he repeats in a hypnotic voice. "It's touching your very bones by its presence."

So how does he explain the phenomenon of demonic possession? "Free will", says Dr. Martin. "For the first time in the work we have been doing for thirty-one years in this corner of the globe, during the last ten years or so, we have found young men and women thirty-somethings or twenty-somethings coming forward and saying, 'Listen I made a pact with the devil. I wanted this woman. I wanted this man. I wanted this job. I wanted this money. I wanted this, this, this, and I made a pact and he gave it to me and now I can't get free of him. He dominates my will. Please liberate me. And then people get to it by means of things like a ouija board or by spiritual seances or channeling."

Malachi Martin is also known as a serious scholar of apocryphal writings, having authored a book called The Scribal Character of the Dead Sea Scrolls.

(As an impressive mark of his erudition, Malachi Martin even knew about the alternative Abraham and Isaac story in one of the so-called Pseudepigrapha, the Book of Jubilees. In this unsanctioned version of Genesis, Abraham is commanded to kill his son, but not by God. Instead it is Mastema, a fallen angel known as "the accusing angel" as well as the Tempter and Executioner, who tells the Hebrew patriarch to do the dirty deed. To his credit, of course, Abraham doesn't slaughter his firstborn. When asked why the Genesis version omits details of the fallen angel Mastema as the instigator of Abraham's test, however, even Malachi Martin admits ignorance.)

The Globalist Imperative

Like the prissy intellectuals of the 1930s enamored by National Socialism (as well as Fabian Socialism), the current fin de siecle version of internationalists are likewise paving their own road to a Globalist hell with good intentions.

Using the Hegelian model of history, first there was Capitalism (thesis), then Communism (antithesis), and now there's the New World Order (synthesis), risen from the ashes of the Cold War and the formerly 'competing' ideologies.

International socialism or corporate fascism (aka Globalism) is, in fact, the trendy philosophy for the end of the millennium. In his book Megatrends 2000, Olympian futurist John Naisbitt calls it "free market socialism," a hybrid economic system that combines welfare state policies with multinational corporate business on a global level.

Globalism, however, as a secular religion, has a dogma all its own. Its primary belief system is based on the notion that the usefulness of the nation-state is over. In other words, national sovereignty is a thing of the past and a One World Government is inevitable. But... this effort, at least for now, must be couched in cryptic language for the unwashed masses. Otherwise they'd get too upset.

Globalist spokesman Zbigniew Brzezinski, former Columbia University professor, President Carter's former National Security advisor, and founder of the Trilateral Commission spoke at the Gorbachev Foundation's State of the World Forum in 1995, "We cannot leap into world government in one quick step," he said. "(It) requires a process of gradually expanding the range of democratic cooperation." In plain language, that means people must be further indoctrinated.

Eurocrat Jean-Marie Guehenno hints at this global hegemony or one world totalitarianism calling it an "empire without an emperor." Guehenno wrote The End of the Nation-State (1995) which was called La fin de la democratie (The End of Democracy) in the original French version. Since nation states are obsolete, he claims, "'wise men' capable of thinking through the finite world that has become our common lot" must be entrusted to guide us into what he calls an 'Imperial Age'." Presumably Guehenno counts himself as one of the ranks of "The Wise Men."

Most striking though is a chapter in Guehenno's book called "Religions without God", which evokes the image of the humanist shaking his fist at an empty sky. The ultimate reduction of this conundrum for the internationalists is to hint at a "global politburo" to run the world as posited by Paul Mazur in Unfinished Business (1979).

According to Dr. Martin's nomenclature, Guehenno is one of the Transnationalists -- bureaucrats who believe that Globalism is based on "the development of new and ever wider interrelationships between the governments of the world".

On the other hand, the Internationalists are "individuals who operate from a power base of finance, industry and technology". Together these groups are the Globalists, the social engineers conniving for the convergence of East and West in the so-called New World Order.

Luciferian Geo-Politics

For a Churchman, Malachi Martin shows a remarkable familiarity and understanding of Luciferianism, a belief system which hold human wisdom, secular humanism if you will, as its paragon and the fallen archangel Lucifer as the Prince who will rule the world.

Readers of Windswept House are given the impression that the old traditional Catholic Church is good because the protagonists, Christian Gladstone and his mother are defending it, while we know that the Church has been dedicated to Lucifer. Faced with these two alternatives, the conclusion is that the Roman Catholic Church run by Lucifer is good -- a classic (and incredibly sophisticated) double bind, which is constantly reinforced in the reader's mind throughout the 646 pages of the novel.

"Well, the Church itself has not been given to Lucifer," argues Dr. Martin. "He was enthroned in the Vatican by Vatican officials. That doesn't mean he possesses the Church yet. The Church anyway is an ambiguous term because it either means the actual physical bloc of churches, convents, libraries, academies, parish houses and cathedrals, the physical plant. Or it means the group of faithful in the state of grace whether they are alive in Purgatory or in Heaven. That is the body of Christ."

"There has always been, since the fourth century, this organization set up by the Emperor Constantine. But that is not essential for the Church. The Church can exist without it. So that mystical body of Christ has not fallen into Lucifer's hands. The organization to some degree has. That's the difficulty."

What about the book putting his readers in a double bind? You're presented with two choices. Either A. The Luciferian-controlled Roman Catholic Church. Or B. The Luciferian-controlled New World Order. So where does Malachi Martin find himself?

"The New World Order is definitely won by Luciferian believers," says Dr. Martin. "There's no doubt about that."

And then he starts to rationalize their modus operandi.

"But these are men who came to be and are in their actions at least, humanitarian and philanthropic. They want to wipe out hunger and disease. They want to limit the population of the world. They believe the world is headed for mass starvation. They also want to enter into education. They would like to have an alliance with the Roman Catholic Church and with another pope. This one -- they know would stand in their way in regards to population control because he is deadstart against abortion, contraceptives, genetic engineering."

And what about "The Process" he refers to in his book?

Dr. Martin replies that it's the "Luciferian Process" of secularizing every religious mind so that the common mind today would be one which regarded the earth as a planned paradise to be built up. There is no God above the skies, no heaven, and there is no hell beneath the earth. It's complete secularization."

(John Lennon's classic rock anthem "Imagine" comes to mind. "Imagine there's no country," he sang. "It isn't hard to do. Nothing to kill or die for. And no religion too.")

But do the Luciferians have a timetable?

"We are now according to the official doctrine of the Luciferians in what they call "the Availing Time". They have a tradition that in these years they can avail of the time to install the Prince, who is Lucifer, as the greatest power on earth in charge of human civilization and adored by men."

And to what end?

"To exalt the power of Lucifer. That is the end in itself. It's the Luciferian purpose. If they don't do it in these years, then it is put off sine die, without resolution. They are very keen on getting it done."

And what are the next steps in this "Process"?

"The purpose is to secularize education completely," continues Dr. Martin. "And to eliminate from considerations of life and death -- medicine, sociality, finance, birth, development etc., to free that of any religious presumption whatever. To free it from the superstition of religion so that man is dealt with scientifically and humanly. And that is 'the Process'. 'The Process' is to make the human mind accept that... 'The Process' is whereby all education, primary, secondary and higher, college university and all public activity is completely rid of all religious presumptions."

"There is a layer of satanism, of satanist ritual which prepares people for perfect Luciferian adoption. They have covens and sacrifices and rites. The Luciferians have no rites, you know."

So dabbling with satanism in these rituals leads to a different form of "commitment" which is Luciferianism?

"It is a preparation for Luciferianism and there are reversals sometimes," claims Dr. Martin. "You will find a crowd of Luciferians having a satanic ritual as a reminder of things. But they have all passed through in a sense and that involves three things: the infliction of pain without flinching, the infliction of death without flinching, and the use of fire."

Windswept House — Message and Subtext

In Windswept House, Christians and Luciferians clash over the remains of the Roman Catholic Church. It's a controversial and provocative story, a political thriller with metaphysical implications. It delves into the depths of treachery, intrigue and Machiavellian politics at the highest levels of the Church. As a fact-based novel with frequent lengthy asides on real historical, geopolitical events like the fall of the Soviet Empire and the Helsinki Accords, Windswept House is a vehicle for one simple message -- the New World Order is here and now.

While a group of cardinals scheme to force the Pope to resign his office so they'll be able to install a man who will do the Luciferians' bidding, a priest, Christian Gladstone is called to Rome. Cardinal Maestroianni, a power player and one of the leaders of the cabal, enlists the priest to poll bishops regarding closer ties with the European Economic Community. In fact, however, the Cardinal is assessing the timing for a conclave in which the Slavic Pope would be forced to resign because he has become a stumbling block in the Luciferians' plans.

From the business side, Paul Gladstone, Christian's brother and an expert in international relations working at a Globalist law firm, is also unknowingly recruited to bring the Luciferian plan to fruition. When the brothers find out they are both being unwittingly used in the schemes of the Luciferians, they join forces. Christian then must reach the Pope to tell him that he is being manipulated to abdicate the Chair of Peter.

Will the Pope resign? And will he exorcise the Church in time?

The subtext? It doesn't really make a hell of a lot of a difference.

The Future of the Church Militant

In his novel Windswept House Malachi Martin expostulates his readers regarding the reasons why the "Slavic Pope" (Pope John Paul II) is so ineffectual. But what is the Pope's agenda as he sees it?

"I think that from the very start John Paul II for whatever reasons, has sought after one thing and one thing only," says Dr. Martin. The formation of what now appears to be in his mind, a universal assemblage of Catholics at the core; grouped with them the Protestant denominations, sects and churches; grouped around them believing Jews, believing Muslims, believing Hindus, believing Buddhists. And that would be a universal religious assembly that could have a powerful dynamic kick in civilization and in solving the problems of men and women today. That is the only thing you can really say this man has sought heart and soul and body with all his travelling. When he went to churches all over the world, member churches of the Catholic Church in all the countries, he was bolstering the reputation of the papacy and he was speaking Catholic dogma, Catholic belief, Catholic morals. But in reality he was reaching out to everybody. He wanted to make friends with everybody."

And what about the widespread homosexuality, pedophilia and satanic rituals in the Church, common knowledge he avers known to all Vatican insiders? Since as he wrote Christ is no longer honored in the tabernacle, what does he think will happen?

"Once the tabernacle is emptied of Christ's real presence, then the Church ceases to be holy and therefore it's going to be entered by the opposite power, Lucifer," says Martin. "And this is taking place now. Not widespread, but it is taking place. There's no doubt about that."

So will the Church fall on its own? "It's disintegrating slowly," says Martin. "As an organization, it's being marginalized sociopolitically and culturally. And religiously, it's weakening and decaying, obsolescing..."

"If you look at any country today there are three identifiable components of that State. One, the government. Two, there is industry. Third, there are what we call NGOs, the non-governmental organizations. That's everything from Mothers Against Drunk Drivers to the Catholic Church. And they're just simply lumped together, voluntary associations with as much power as they can grasp but of no special importance. Now fifty or seventy years ago, when an ethical or moral question arose, people and governments looked to the churches. Now they don't any longer."

And yet another sensitive question. Something doesn't add up. Malachi Martin's a priest. He's supposed to fight evil. Yet his book Windswept House is clear evidence that he's thrown in the towel.

"Well I don't see evidence of having thrown in the towel," protests Dr. Martin. "Because there's a lot I'm being made to pay for, in the sense that the writer obviously likes and reveres this Pope even though he disagrees with him. The writer also believes in the blessed sacrament. He believes in the Pope's infallibility. He believes in salvation. He believes in hell. He believes in the evil of the devil."

So why doesn't Windswept House end with Christ victorious in the book?

Does Dr. Martin believe that the Luciferian forces have won already?

"No. No. No," insists Dr. Martin. "This is an interim book. It ends in a big doubt -- everybody waiting." This must be what they call the European ending -- as opposed to the American ending where all the loose ends are tied up.

Then the story shifts into "The Devil, Er, I Mean the Editor Made Me Do It". "The publisher said, 'listen the story isn't finished yet,'" says Dr. Martin. "I had a lovely glorious ending. I had a vision. I had a marvellous thing over the Alps. He cut it out."

This is an actual editorial decision? "Yes," says Dr. Martin.

But with all due respect, it almost sounds like Luciferian tampering. Not that anyone wants a saccharine ending. So are readers to conclude that the Luciferians won because of the passivity of the Pope in defending the Church?

"Well, they haven't won yet," says Dr. Martin on a slightly upbeat note. "We're waiting for this man to do something. He's the Vicar of Christ. I know I'm defending him but..."

"Readers who call me or write me say, what do we do now? I say, read my next book," he continues.

With Martin's death on July 28, 1999, his suggestion seems to be a moot point.

"So perhaps editorially," he concludes, "it was the right decision, but religiously it was the wrong decision. I don't know."

It's been said that "by their fruits, ye shall know them." Malachi Martin's assent to the so-called "process" is the tangible "fruit" of Windswept House.

Is the novel a prophecy? Or is it just a warning?

In any case, the New (Luciferian) World Order that Martin describes puts a religious spin to the whole "process" of history.

It's also clear -- the book is a Luciferian masterpiece.

Unfortunately he passed away before writing that next book. That book was to go into America's part in this. I have thoughts on this aspect, which I alluded to a couple of posts ago, but to which you didn't reply. So, I won't go into tham at this moment, but they tie in precisely with the Pope, past history and Revelation.

Here are some 'blurbs', from his other books.

The Keys Of This Blood: Most frighteningly for [Pope] John Paul [II], he had come up against the irremovable presence of a malign strength in his own Vatican and in certain bishops’ chanceries. It was what knowledgeable Churchmen called the ‘superforce.’ Rumors, always difficult to verify, tied its installation to the beginning of Pope Paul VI’s reign in 1963. Indeed Paul had alluded somberly to ‘the smoke of Satan which has entered the Sanctuary’. . . an oblique reference to an enthronement ceremony by Satanists in the Vatican. Besides, the incidence of Satanic pedophilia — rites and practices — was already documented among certain bishops and priests as widely dispersed as Turin, in Italy, and South Carolina, in the United States. The cultic acts of Satanic pedophilia are considered by professionals to be the culmination of the Fallen Archangel’s rites.

These allegations have largely gone unnoticed, possibly because Martin was so crafty in his descriptions that he might even have been referring to the coronation of Pope Paul VI. But he revealed much more about this alleged ritual in one of his last works, Windswept House: A Vatican Novel (1996).

In this story, he vividly described a diabolical ceremony called “The Enthronement of the Fallen Archangel Lucifer” supposedly held in St. Paul’s Chapel within the Vatican, but linked with concurrent satanic rites here in the US, on June 29, 1963, barely a week after the election of Paul VI. In this novel, before he dies, a pope leaves a secret account of the situation on his desk for the next occupant of the throne of Peter, a thinly-disguised John Paul II.

According to The New American, Martin confirmed that the ceremony did indeed occur as he had described. “Oh yes, it is true; very much so,” the magazine reported he said. “But the only way I could put that down into print is in novelistic form.”

Windswept House is a sweeping novel, set on the grand global stage and the unfolding of the next stage of civilization, the ominously-named New World Order. It tackles head on a number of heavy issues from abortion to the Third Secret of Fatima, but the essential message seems to be this: Satanists lurk in the shadows, from the heart of the Vatican down to the local parishes, manipulating those fooled by the false spirit of Vatican II. They are doing their damnedest to subvert the Roman Catholic Church, while Pope John Paul II, intent on his geopolitical millennial endgame, fiddles about, waiting for a sign from the Blessed Virgin while the Church literally goes to hell around him.

The Decline and Fall Of The Roman Church: Paul realized in his last two years that something unimaginably ominous had been moving inexorably toward them, was already in their midst, and had nothing to do with the Holy Spirit. “The smoke of Satan has entered the church, is around the altar,” he remarked somberly. By 1978 and in the last few weeks of his own life, Paul knew that the rumbling tension of his world had grown to a roaring, and that around him there was a conflagration feeding on the dry wood and the underbrush of the centuries-old kingdom. (p. 278, emphasis added).

In this history, we also learn that the worst pope of the Dark Ages, Benedict IX, “dabbled in witchcraft and satanism” (p. 132), and that Pius XII believed Karl Marx, the father of Communism, was himself a “dedicated and consecrated Satanist” (p. 175), but that’s about it.

From other sources, it is known that Pope Paul IV was indeed quite concerned about acts of priestly sorcery, but Martin gave no other clue before Keys that I could find that he was indeed aware of diabolic hijinks within the Vatican.

Though he used transparent psuedonyms, he made it obvious that he regarded John XXIII as a holy dupe and Paul IV, whom he did not like, as an even greater but far less spiritual one. Martin regarded the Ecumenical Council as having been virtually taken over by modernist heretics and Soviet puppets. By the accession of John Paul I to the throne of Peter, one of his characters estimated that in effect, half the bishops in the US were in schism, and a third in heresy. (Other sources have confirmed this is indeed a Curial view.)

I had often wondered how a whole country could allow what happened to happen. Only after talking to Nana about it did I realize how subtle it was and how most people never had a clue and as she said once they did it was to late. And many with the propaganda that he fed them really believed the stuff that Hitler had brainwashed them with. He got them in youth camp at an early age. At first he was their hero. He saved the country economically. Once his power was intact he turned and showed himself to be the monster he really was. MCD

The same thing happened here but to a smaller scale. The government was permitted to kill those Christians at Waco. Anyone who looks into it can see that crimes were committed there outlawed by the Geneva Convention even (chemical warfare). People were so happy that the index stocks were rising, they didn't care.

I found your article very interesting. I agree with the what is happening with the one world government. Under the one world government there will also be a united religion.

Here is a link to an interesting sight regarding united religion. This statement is off the side on there website. If you go through it you will see it sounds like earth worship.

I went back and read Daniel 7 in full again and realized that chapter mainly deals with the all of the beast at one time frame. The 4th is one that is to rule in the end. And indeed the two Revelation and Daniel are the same.

REVELATION 13
2 And the beast which I saw was like unto a leopard, and his feet were as the feet of a bear, and his mouth as the mouth of a lion: and the dragon gave him his power, and his seat, and great authority.

DANIEL 7
3 Four great beasts, each different from the others, came up out of the sea. 4 "The first was like a lion, and it had the wings of an eagle. I watched until its wings were torn off and it was lifted from the ground so that it stood on two feet like a man, and the heart of a man was given to it.
5 "And there before me was a second beast, which looked like a bear. It was raised up on one of its sides, and it had three ribs in its mouth between its teeth. It was told, 'Get up and eat your fill of flesh!'
6 "After that, I looked, and there before me was another beast, one that looked like a leopard. And on its back it had four wings like those of a bird. This beast had four heads, and it was given authority to rule.

We have all three in both the lion, leopard and the bear. These seem to be countries that rule before the beast takes total and complete dominion over everyone.
