I was blessed to have known Barbara and Ted. I will never forget their warmth and graciousness. God rest her soul.

At her memorial service, Barbara's brother told the story of how in junior high, a couple of girls were teasing her. So one day, she took a length of logging chain to school in her purse to do a little "negotiating." By the end of the day, those little girls and Barbara walked out of the school holding hands.

If she were here today, I think she'd say it's time to wield a little logging chain.

I agree - I was surprised by my reaction when I heard the news. I was sitting in a hair salon listening to my portable radio when they said Barbara had been on board the plane that hit the Pentagon. I made a startled cry and everyone turned to see what was the matter with me. Sadly, people didn't know why the name of Barbara Olson was important.

We were talking about that this morning. We were both in tears when we learned of Barbara's murder. She was such a wonderful person. And a grandmother to boot!

Sheesh, Cote. I didn't want tears today. And here they are flowing again!

Beautiful poem.

Every time I see that mean shrew Katrina vanden Hueval on TV I think "It should have been you on that plane instead of Barbara."

Remembering BCM through his brother ---

To hear a sample, click here!

I am Irish and was proud to serve with other firemen,

Who gave their lives for us that day, each one of them a friend,

In remembrance of my brothers who from earthly bonds did pass,

Osama, step right up and kiss my royal Irish ass.

(Chorus)

They’re the bravest men I’ve known and I’ll miss them every day,

I will keep them in my heart, so they’re never far away,

In remembrance of my brothers, who from earthly bonds did pass,

Osama, step right up and kiss my royal Irish ass,

You’ll pay the price, but first you’ll kiss my royal Irish ass.

Never thinking of their safety, only saving other lives,

They never made it home to see their daughters, sons, or wives,

In remembrance of my brothers who from earthly bonds did pass,

Osama, step right up and kiss my royal Irish ass.

  (Chorus)

They’re the bravest men I’ve known and I’ll miss them every day,

I will keep them in my heart, so they’re never far away,

In remembrance of my brothers who from earthly bonds did pass,

Osama, step right up and kiss my royal Irish ass,

You’ll pay the price, but first you’ll kiss my royal Irish ass.

Try to take our freedom and you’ve made a big mistake,

The Spirit of America, you’re never going to break.

I wrote THIS ONE FOR BARBARA for her book, "Hell to Pay," and was absolutely ecstatic that she she saw it and answered me.

She was a fighter for truth who left us many, many years too soon.
