I think that the Clintons have stabbed the whole slate of candidates for 2004 in the back. The sent Terry McAuliffe out with the talking points about the WMD and the STOU speech and then Clinton goes on Larry King and says that its all nonsense because Saddam definitely had WMDs. At the same time that McAuliffe was putting out the talking points to finish off the left wing of the party, Clinton sends the DLC out with an article in the WSJ, decrying the takeover of the party by the leftwing, negating all the centrist moves that Clinton had made. He is just clearing the deck for Hillary to run as a centrist.
