I think the fact that it took almost six days for anyone to notice and post this column, is all you need to know about Ted Rall.

This day of rememberance is in the midst of a conflict that is ongoing. We have neither marked the start nor the finish, but are reaffirming our resolve by the memory of civilian loss of life.

The commercialization is part of our way of life and the patriotism is relevent to maintain a spirit of resolve as a nation and ontop of it all capitalists will find profit everywhere.

Half of our countrymen have no idea what we will consider as a victory and the other half forgot we were still fighting.

So would you want to see this anniversary pass unnoticed? Of course not. Is it overcommercialized? Of course it is.
Will we do it every year forever? I dunno.

I am with you. It's like they have all gotten away from what REALLY happened into schmaltzy sentimentality. I saw the other day all the Congressmen walking past a wreath to put American flags in it, with a sappy flute piece in the backround. And I thought, this has nothing to do with anything, it is political theatrics.

And all the networks have said they are NOT going to show the planes hitting the buildings, just run memorial shows. Knowing the way the networks work, I can just imagine. But it is good to see the flags coming out again. I put my Don't Tread On Me flag up yesterday. And flying a flag is patriotic, not sentimental.

His real objection to the sentimentality of the media, is that they are not concentrating on bashing capitalism, Bush, hetorsexuals, white people, God, and family.

I am sure that the liberal media will get back the above and true agenda next week.
