In Journalism class, we were instructed to write to those reaaders with the intelligence of a 6th grade education...this is a prime example.

I sincerely think you should test your theory and send your story to this poor-excuse-for-a journalist.

I did. And of course I expect no response from her. As experiential evidence its far more valid than what she offered up, but I suspect since it doesn't confirm her world view she will dismiss it.

This editorial is absurd on every level.

Firstly, the evidence offered is purely anecdotal.

Secondly, there is no independent verification of the story. For all anyone knows the facts of the story may be different than protrayed.

Thirdly, it is not analogous to what most blacks are alleging. I haven't heard many complain that the problem between blacks and police is that the cops take the white guys side when there's an auto accident.

Fourth, the guy was told to shut up and sit down. IF unwarranted, at worst this is rude. If I had a dime for every person that was every rude to me I'd be a millionaire. Big deal. Get over it.

I'm wondering when we will read an article from Mary wherein she reports on being a cop (ala Fred Reed-type of write-up--http://www.fredoneverything.net/PoliceMenu.html).

She should partake of a ride-along for a week. THAT should be interesting reading--if she bothered to report fairly.

Headline; "Accompanying Police, Mary is Assaulted as She Tries to Reason with Drunken Mob by Asking them To Use Their Words not Their Fists."

Oh, brother!
One day I was riding my motorcycle on hi-way 99 near Lodi, CA. I came upon an accident which had all the traffic backed up. Well, it's legal to split lanes in CA and I rode between the cars to the front of the lines. When I pulled up the medivac had taken off and the road was clear to go.
I asked the hi-way patrolman if I could go on ahead and he yelled at me like a drill sergeant:
'No, you CAN'T go ahead!'
He also glared at me with a look that would kill most!
So, I shut my bike off and waited. About one minute later they let everyone go!!!!
It did surprise me how he jumped in my face, but I didn't go crying to the ACLU about it.
Golly, is this how most gang-banger, crack sellers are treated?
I sure as hell hope so!
