do you support theocracy?

Dumb question...

No, in light of your Scriptural posts in this thread, it's a very pertinent question. What's your answer?

I support sanity(sobriety)---civilization!

So be sober. Nobody's forcing you to get drunk now; if drugs other than alcohol were legal, nobody would force you to get stoned.

ok FC, do you ever answer a question, I asked for a reason why MJ is illegal, nothing about heroin addicts.
It has already been proven again and again the MJ is no more a gateway drug and than booze and tobacoo.
is that the best you can do.

Addiction can come in many forms including those who are addicted to sex, food, ciggaretes, alcohol, sleep . . . should these be made illegal as well.

Where does my mother stop and my freedom begin. Cut the strings my friend and let people be. No one wants to bother you, but you sure seem to want to bother them. Why?

Why?

Because he OBVIOUSLY has Gods Special Seal of Approval. He knows Gods mind better than we do and therefore has more moral authority over our lives than we ourselves do.(/sarcasm)

I think I've figured it out---the "f" in "F.Christian" stands for "faux".

Good News For The Day

‘Which is easier, to say to the paralytic, 'your sins are forgiven,' or to say, 'get up; take up your mat and walk'?.‘ (Mark 2:9)

Jesus experienced forgiveness as difficult, not just because he loved the brothers (his disciples), but because he loved everyone. If you care about anyone at all, it is hard to forgive those who harm them. Jesus offered... forgiveness---to the experts in the law, even though he was angered by what they were doing to the poor, and the helpless. He loved the widows and the fatherless.

If you lived in Yugoslavia, and had seen family and friends tortured and butchered. And if the perpetrators were known to you, and still living in your neighborhood, what would you do if one of them came to your home, begging forgiveness?

In George Eliot's story, Adam Bede is an honest carpenter. He has eyes for pretty Hetty Sorrel. But along comes Arthur Donnithorne, who is swashbuckling and rich. He takes Hetty just because he can, and leaves her, pregnant and sorrowful. Later, realizing he has ruined Adam Bede's life as well as Hetty's, Donnithorne comes to Adam begging forgiveness. Adam struggles, and only with great effort does he give it. "There's a sort o' damage sir," he says, "that can't be made up for. Aye, you whose sin hurts other folk, remember that."

Forgiveness is an wrenching event for the forgiver. Jesus knew this agony because he loved everyone so deeply. His willingness to forgive means healing for the world.

Good News For The Day

‘The truth will set you free.’ (John 8:32)

"God's dismissal in the 19th century, and the humiliation of truth in the 2oth, was supposed to set the world free."

"The experiment has been under way for some time now, and it is fair to ask, what are the... results---so far?"

"The Nazi experience in Germany provides a case study. There, a government and a society were organized on the principle of God's non-existence. Did liberation come to pass? On the wall of one of the death camps there is a plaque. It preserves the language of one of Hitler's speeches. The plaque overlooks large mounds of human hair, piles of personal effects; shoes, spectacles. The plaque reads: "I freed Germany from the degrading fallacy of conscience and morality. We will train people capable of violence-imperious, relentless, cruel. . ."

"Those sentiments were nurtured on the same continent that gave the world the reformation. Which was more liberating? If someone came today and said: "I am the truth," we would not take him seriously. But when Jesus says it, we are tempted to let him get away with it. If he is mad, it is a beautiful madness; such an attractive insanity. Let us not be ashamed to offer Christ to the world."

‘The truth will set you free.’ (John 8:32)

Good News For The Day

‘I am the truth. . ..’(John 14:6)

For most of time, men and women have assumed that the truth was there to be found out. This began to change in the 19th century and the change gathered pace in the 20th. As people began to question the existence of God, it became obvious to some, that the existence of truth requires the existence of God. With God dismissed, it became impossible to conceive of truth in any absolute sense. This has resulted in the humiliation of truth. Truth is now whatever you would like it to be.

Truth's demise has filtered down through the great centers of learning, the arts, and on into streets and homes. Everything is possible with truth gone. Everything is permissible. Musicians make music that doesn't sound musical. Painters paint pictures that are incomprehensible to normal folk. Playwrights write plays that are nonsense, and architects design buildings that no one can understand. All this is put forward as legitimate, but what does it all mean?

No matter how much... popular culture---is encouraged to believe in the relativity of truth, no one can build a decent life on such a notion.

Inevitably proponents of freedom from God, and from absolute truth, are obliged to reach outside of their own system, and borrow something from theism in order to make their lives work. The person who believes that everything is valid, will soon find that he is condemned to meaninglessness. Christ is a standing offer of escape from such a hell as this To believe that truth is like Christ, is salvation indeed.

But you yourself cannot forgive. YOU would take the short-cut of having the Govenment force others to be moral.

You are not only a hypocrit, you are a coward as well.

That's great. So you won't mind when I brand you a New Dealer, right?

Heck, why not?
Afterall, Ronald Reagan started out as a "New Deal Democrat".
And "Reagan Democrats" helped get him elected.
It's a shame that the Welfare Pimp faction of the 'Rat Party gained control and abandoned so many fine Americans.

The "New Deal" produced many of America's most valued treasures: Hoover Dam comes to mind.
Of course, it was Ike who initiated construction of the Interstate Highway System.
Goodness knows I spend enough time advocating development of our nation's infrastructure: nuclear power plants, high-speed rail and Maglev, desalination systems for fresh water, even refurbishment and upgrade of the system of locks & dams that make our rivers navigable for commerce.

If that classifies me as a "New Dealer", fine by me.

I still have more constructive issues to address than to quibble about nonsense diversions such as drug legalization. I believe in enhancing the quality of our life, not degrading it with access to brain-damaging addictive chemicals.

Who's advocating degrading life? We just think people should make this decision themselves - not you, your puritan buddies, or the government. Try a little autonomy if you're man enough.

Did he stop there? If not, was the subsequent change progress?

I believe in enhancing the quality of our life, not degrading it with access to brain-damaging addictive chemicals.

Right now we have access to the brain-damaging addictive chemical alcohol. Do you support banning alcohol, or are you a hypocrite?

And what authorizes you to coercively "enhance the quality" of SOMEONE ELSE'S life?
