Thanks for the heads up on the concert. I will have to go see them when they get down this way. I saw Keith on the cover of a mag at Border's the other day. It scared the heck out me. I loved these guy's music but they need to see Dick Clark and get his secret. I bought "40 Licks" and it sounds great with the digital re-mastering.
Alice Cooper and Bob Ezrin digitally re-mastered "Billion Dollar Babies" and "Welcome to My Nightmare". The sound is totally great. You can really hear a difference. On the "Billion Dollar Babies" you get two discs. They add a live concert from 1973.

I regret having missed Cooper way back in the 70's.
But go to rollingstone.com for a few chuckles; there's an extended recent interview with him that's not included in the print version.
60MinutesII did a piece on them last week; maybe there's a copy on the CBS website

I like all kinds of music as long as it's interesting. Which the Rolling Stone aren't. Not too many groups of any kind have had the fame the Rolling Stones have had for many decades now. You've got to hand it to a group who still can sell out concerts 40 years after they started.

I'd take free tickets for Barbara Streisand or Julio Iglesias - Turn down free tix! No way... you can always walk out.

I'd turn down free tickets for those two --maybe not for Julio Iglesias but no way could I watch Streisand. Maybe before the Clinton years but she was such a toady to them.

I'm amazed that it's possible to even take a picture of Keith Richards. I thought that images of the undead don't show up on film.

Back before videos were videos, Alice Cooper did a film clip to "I Want to Be Elected" wherein he and the boys successfully ran a chimpanzee for President. Dates back to around '72 - '73. Damn funny. I wonder if it's available anywhere?

Probably. If you live in a big city go to one of the record shows. Check with a local record/CD store to see when and where it is held. The retail chain stores do not participate in them. You can find all types of stuff at these shows relating to rock-n-roll. If it is out there then 9 times out of 10 someone at a record show will have it, be able to get it for you, or knows someone who can get it for you.
I remember Alice being on the Smothers Brothers show or some show like it. He played a cavity in "Unfinished Sweet" that was terrorizing the other teeth in a mouth. He was running around in a black leather outfit with whips and chains beating up on the other teeth who were people in tooth suits. Then the teeth people finally band together and revolt forming a cross with a giant tooth brush and a tube of tooth-paste to drive Alice out the mouth. It was hilarious. I remember it because everyone was talking about how horrible and evil Alice Cooper was. Since everyone saying was talking about it, as a kid, I had to see Alice. He was nothing like what I was hearing about. He was killer.(pun intended) Colgate should find this clip and use it in tooth-paste ads today. If Cadillac can now use Led Zeppelin's "Rock-n-Roll"(who would every thought that would happen) then I think Alice would be acceptable today.
