Go back to 1992 when certain GOPers decided to take their protest to Ross Perot. GREAT STRATEGY!! Bush raised my taxes so I'm gonna let the zipper be Prez. So there!

True, but at least the GOP finally learned its lesson, and W made tax cuts a priority. He wasn't bound to make the same mistake as his Dad.

But if he had, I'm sure there are dimwits among us who would slice off that nose and put Hitlery or Gore in the White House again. Forget the lesser of two evils, just stop REWARDING the damned evil!

"It's often heard on FR when someone doesn't agree with the Republican candidate on absolutely 100% of issues."

This of course is a strawman argument. It's not that we don't agree with the Republican candidate on absolutely 100% of the issues, it's that the RINO agrees with the DemocRATs on 80% of the issues. How far wrong does the RINO have to be, before it's kosher to vote against him? People of goodwill can disagree on where to draw that line.

Which Republicans agree with Dems on 80% of the issues? I doubt even McCain, at al would be anywhere near that. You are setting up a strawman argument yourself - can you provide a link to back up your assertion?

Obviously, I wasn't clear in making my point. I was trying to set up an hypothetical. At what point is it okay not to for vote for the Pubbie? When they agree with with the DemocRAT by what percentage?

Sorry if I misunderstood your post. I don't think you can quantify the percentage at which point one would vote against the GOP. It really depends on what issues are most important to the individual voter, for me it is mostly economic issues, for another it might be pro-life, etc.

I get tired of people (I am not accusing you of this) saying "there is no difference between GWB and Al Gore, RINO's are just as bad as Democrats" when if you look at the totality of issues there generally are large differences.

I say we support the RAT boycott effort to help ensure that they stay home in November.

>>>>McKinney lost without the Republican cross-over vote.

Probably, but if I lived there I would have gotten tremendous satisfaction out of helping.

"...when if you look at the totality of issues there generally are large differences."

I agree, generally there are large differences, sometimes there are not: Jim Jeffords, Lincoln Chafee, Olympia Snowe, Pat Collins. Sometimes, it may be better to vote out a RINO, who hurts other Republican candidates by blurring the differences and driving down Republican voter turnout.

Let's say Vermont Republicans had turned against Jeffords 8 or 12 years ago and elected a Democrat. In the following one or two elections, there would've be a better Republican candidate running with a chance to win, if the DemocRAT Senator had some missteps. Voting for Jeffords ended up screwing the Republican Party.

That's just one example. The pro-tax Republican Governors are hurting the chances of their GOP successors to win election and hurting Republicans downticket. RINOs may taste good in the short run, but they'll stab you in the back in the long run.

Either that or they say they'll vote LP in an effort to get the Republican party to listen...

If Republicans don't turn out and vote, no matter who is the candidate, its their own fault...

Is there anything - anything at all - that we can do to help hold down the black vote, or the DemocRAT vote in Georgia?

If this happens, does that mean Gov. Roy Barnes can also be beaten?
