Stop being so obtuse. Go read the BAMPAC study -that is, unless you just want to ignore the black electorate entirely. If that's what you want, then go hide under your rock; the remainder of the Party will change around you.
It is this mentality on the Right that I'm fighting just as hard as I am against the black Left.
You just totally pooh-poohed what the author said, while not addressing anything he said.
Prove it. I'm not talking about what you heard. I've yet to see any concrete evidence that backs up this claim. As jacked up as the voter fraud was in 2000, who knows for sure?
So what are you going to do? Are you going to just bitch and pass it off or are you going to at least lend your support in this fight?
Even though you are on the Right, roll with us here. Or get rolled over.
It's your choice.
It's not about "begging," IJ. I'm telling you from experience that he message of the Right is absent in this demographic. Yes, middle-class and poor blacks sense something is wrong. If that's the case, take the message of the Right to them. It's new for them and it also shatters the "myth" that the Right doesn't care.
To be sure, there are those on the Right who wouldn't give a wooden nickel about the black vote in general and black people in particular. In fact, they'd be pleased if folks like mhking and I were not here on the Right (message: We are not going anywhere so get used to us). But the vast majority of those on the Right do care.
All that's needed now is a good-faith showing. That's it.
Not only that, but have diligently worked to enslave the rest of us as well. In their world, only the Rat elite would have any real freedom. I do hope I live long enough to see an all out rebellion of blacks against the tactics of the democrats. It would be so satisfying to watch the likes of Jesse Jackson and others, who presume to speak for all blacks, trying to figure what went wrong and desperately trying to reframe their strategy.
Pardon? I was commenting on how 90% of blacks and over 50% of whites think government is a provider of goods and services.
That is why they love democrats. Government, is basically inept... inefficient and all-usurping.
The Majette victory means a victory for a sane tax-raiser over an insane tax-raiser. Get it?
Can someone tell me just when this became against the law?
Ah! This is where you're wrong. Put on your political spectacles for a minute.
It's far too easy to demagogue people like Trueblackman, mhking, and myself. The image of "sellout" has been ingrained successfully.
But take a prominent conservative white person in a commercial(s) speaking about the achievement of some black inventor during the height of Jim Crow while expressing his or her belief that today's blacks can achieve the same thing.
Now, let that marinate...
There is not snappy comeback to that one. In fact, is akin to a three-way knight fork in chess. The Left can't just pass this one off because the repeated message will have an affect that they must address. The 20 year-old black man will think about this inventor: Who was this guy? Why haven't I heard about him before? Did he accomplish that back then? Is it true?
Just that seed planted helps to destroy the foundation of victimhood.
And I'll be honest here. Just like it was in the Civil Rights Movement, we conservative blacks need conservative whites such as yourself to aid us in this fight.
That's the God-honest truth. We need you.
I'm not saying use a Mac, but like Apple people say, "Think Different."
You're beautiful....and sooo on the ball. Go man!!!
In discussions I have had with people, particularly blacks, who vote democrat, I have come to the conclusion that the majority of them have no real idea of what that means. It is very easy for FReepers to assume that voters know who they're voting for and why because we ourselves keep informed and wouldn't think of voting somebody into office without knowing what they're about. I would go so far as to suggest that we are perhaps one of the best informed groups of individuals in the country. But in discussing politics with ordinary citizens, I have discovered that many don't have a clue what the difference is between a democrat and a republican, and if the Rats have their way, they will never sort it out.
How does the target know you're there to meet, and what incentive is there for them to go hear your message?
This is not a matter of "begging," but a matter of communication. The communication is not present. The visibility is not there; and as a result, the message goes nowhere.
The stealth method would probably be best. The candidates, the supporters, the message should be front and center, but not as "conservative" or "Republican" - the black community will ignore anything said once they identify themselves with either of those two groups outright.
They've been conditioned to equate both those terms with "evil." But by addressing issues directly, the message gets through.
Many of my columns successfully get positive responses in the black press, primarily because the majority of them are issue-oriented. Of course, at the bottom, I'm identified as "conservative" - after they've heard the message and started thinking. Which leaves them with "Hmmm...maybe they aren't so evil after all."
Does this make for an instant, large-scale change? Nope. But it makes inroads. And inroads are necessary. I make inroads every day, by living my life. I'm approachable. I'm not confrontational. I live "next door;" my kids go to the same schools; I'm in the PTA with 'em; I go to the same supermarket. People see me, talk to me, listen to me, then they find out that I'm conservative. And that I'm not the evil, foaming-at-the-mouth, hateful person that the Jesse Jackson's of the world portray us as. That I don't hate other black people. At that point, they want to know more.
The elder McKinney's in a runoff on 9/10.
Ever heard a white say "My People..." aka Jesse Jackson style?
You teach important lessons in perception.
You're looking at it wrong, you need to imagine how it can be twisted: ie.The prison to college ratio is simply more evidence of how whites oppress and hold down black men. If these black men weren't locked up by purposefully racist criminal justice system then they would be in college.
See? It isn't that hard. And if you stop thinking at that point (so the illogic of the above doesn't settle in) you've satisfied yourself that the statistic is a point for your side.
No, you can beg my pardon, but it won't be given to you. You missed the point. Purposefully, I think.
Check it. Let's go back to that whole passage in the article:
The bitter truth is that guilt tainted racial appeals by black politicians for black solidarity and voter registration caravans and buses into black neighborhoods are not going to make blacks dash to the polls to vote for politicians who wage media-grabbing empty fights over issues that many black voters regard as remote and foreign to their needs and interests. But many will rush to the polls to vote for someone they think can better deliver the goods.
What's the author talking about here? Did he or did he not mention in this piece "crime and violence," "failing public schools," "the death penalty," "three strikes," and "mandatory drug sentencing laws?" Yes or no?
The author even gave the correct reasoning as to why this is: The reason is simple. They are the biggest victims of gangs, drugs and violence.
Yet you say here that the "goods" are some handout from the government. That's telling because you had to read that into the piece because the author didn't say it.
Like I said, your mind was already made up. There's no way that you could have thoroughly read this piece yet come away thinking the way you are without some preconceived notion already in mind.
Exactly. McKinney is black, Majette is black, last I looked the leading GOP candidate in that district is black.
Much as McKinney and her followers would like it to be, this isn't a race thing - it's a beliefs thing.
Only the David Duke, WCC type whites. They are few (thankfully). I wish that there were far less like that with my skintone.
When Je$$e says, "My people," he's not talking about me. I'm not his "people." If he thinks that I am because we're both black, he's sadly mistaken.
I want nothing to do with that "man."
