Because it came out in the Phillapines, when they arrested one of the Al Qaueda back in '95 and found the detailed plans for doing just such on his computer.

The Phillipine police were shocked that the U.S.'s FBI & FAA were not on alert for this tactic...and were caught as if they had never warned them...which they had.

- in 1994 Islamic terrorists hijackers planned to explode an airliner over Paris or crash it into the Eiffel tower. Fortunately French commandos killed the hijackers on the ground.

That story indicates that the responsible organization had drawings of the Eiffel Tower exploding, and a related organization with ties to al Qaeda had contacts in North American.

In 1994 a terrorism expert tried to warn US authorities of the probability of an airplane attack on Washington DC (pointing to the 1994 hijacking of a French airliner and the 1994 crashing of a small airplane on White House grounds) but they insisted he not put that in a report. In 1995 authorities in the Phillipines uncovered a plot to bomb eleven US airliners over the Pacific and simultaneously crash another plane into CIA headquarters in northern Virginia. One source claims they uncovered evidence of a plan to recruit hijackers to crash airplanes into government and commercial buildings in the US (CIA HQ, and commercial towers in San Francisco, Chicago and NY.) They had accomplished a test of their non-suicidal method in 1994 on a Phillipine Airlines flight to Japan (most of the 11 flights in the plot were of American Airlines and United Airlines). They had specific plans to crash a small airplane into CIA headquarters in Virginia as a suicide mission, and less well formed plans to use airliners against other buildings. Investigators made significant connections to bin laden, and one of the people arrested in the Phillipines was later convicted of the 1993 bombing of the World Trade Center. That is, known airlines as targets, simultaneous action, US government buildings as targets of airplanes used as bombs, and probability of exactly what happened in the US six years later.

There is FAITH throughout this administration, which is why I believe it WILL NOT fail in the "big things," ever. Even at the lower offices, there are "faith people" in key positions.

Yes. It had never been acted upon under an extraordinarily and perversely lax administration. The hope had always been that ANYBODY of good will coming in would start, on Day One, to reverse the 'poo-poo' mindset of the previous administration, taking the security threats seriously...not just as politics. Specifically, prioritizing the worst possible threats, such as loose nukes, bio-war, and commandeered air-liners as among things requiring immediate re-classification as threats to be taken seriously, resources re-touted, etc. And discipline imposed against all those who had willingly or enthusiastically aided and abetted the 'poo-poo' mindset. Like the supervisory agent character in FBI HQ who even AFTER 9-11 opposed Massaoui's computer being searched. He should have been re-assigned to Antarctica...doing the Narc detail on Camp McMurdo.

I would truly welcome sincere and true faith in this administration. Unfortunately, I am not convinced that there is faith at the top. GWB is going to inherit the whirlwind alright, but it won't be as he supposes. It began from his Inaugural address when he slandered republican conservatives for not caring about the poor. How despicable . And think how the GOP would have reacted if a President Gore had uttered that condemnation. Furthermore, If in fact GWB was practicing in faith, he would not be so busy keeping hold-overs (who are clearly not in faith), nor failing to prosecute out-going non-faithful criminals, and allowing abortions to be federally funded, etc. GWB is making no effort to stop partial birth abortions while we still have enough votes to ban it.... And more insidiously he is lying to us about national security...and violating everything the Bible teaches about 'putting our trust in princes', and having hindered adequate defense budgets from the first. Do you remember at all in January 2001 how shocked every conservative was when GWB refused to do an immediate defense budget increase...and in fact offered ZERO? And then when the midyear budget time came, all that was added was a paltry $18 billion? Inflation alone would have accounted for all of that. Well, I guess I'm still shocked. Now he is busy unilaterally dismantling our nuclear security...with no NMD deployed. And letting Karl Rove continue playing politics with our unique and extremely vital naval firing range in Vieques, Puerto Rico. It just goes on and on. A profound lack of seriousness from the purported 'adults' in charge.
