It's really bad in the schools. I mean worse than you could ever imagine. The illegals get it all, bilingual ed, free lunch, good places to stay (we're paying for this by the way), meanwhile, the regular working stiffs get lousy places to stay, lousy health care, their kids get no textbooks. Everything is prioritized for the illegal immigrants.

This of course is LOST on today's GOP and their mouthpiece shills here. These assualts on our country will not stand forever and if the GOP and Bush continue on with their pro-illegal immigration stance they will pay for it sometime down the road. And the sooner the better.

Before you continue to rant and spew incredible revisionist garbage, I highly suggest that you learn some basic American history.

First of all, there wasn't vast heaps of " welfare ", until FDR. Their WAS the dole, and many previous immigrants were on it. Even into the late 1930's, many immigrants did NOT speak or read ( gasp ) English. There were NO bi-lingual classes, in public schools, until a few decades ago. OTOH, there were newspapers, threatres, and entire communities, for centuries, here, where absolutely NO English was spoken/ heard / read. This is NOT anything " new ".

If you doubt me, go do some research. Meanwhile, I'll help you out a wee bit and tell you that in the very early part of the 20th century, an Hungarian Benevolent Society, upon their 25th year anniversay, excoriated it's members, in Hungarian, German, and English ( the entire hardbound book, given away to those who attended the grand dinner and ball , was written in ALL three languages ! ), to learn and speak English. BTW, those immigrants and their sons and daughters voted REPUBLICAN, for the most part. How do I know ? Because I own that and it's sister book ( which was for the younger members / the Young Petofi Society ) ; I inhertided them both. :-)

I didn't go to any Town Hall meeting? Of course I have. I went to Congressman Barr's TownHall Meetings. I have also attended Congressman Isakson's Town Hall Meetings. As far as local politicians, they don't regularly hold Town Hall Meetings, so I have had to keep contact with them via phone and mail.

The GOP stands to lose big time on this issue. We can see it from the immigration topics that show up here at freep. Most of us here are anti, there are about 12 of them (as FreedomFriend said) that are complete RATS about the issue. Rove, Bush and co. are banking on the fact that illegals will vote for him in 2004, but I don't see it. I don't see the Latino vote overwhelmingly FOR Bush except in a few cases (Miami?). Certainly NOT in California. And it's not just Latinos, it's all 3rd worlders with their hands out and unwillingness to work, getting here illegally, etc.

You can generally tell who is an illegal. Most of the ones who can't speak English are illegal.
