Can you take part of the picture on the tv news of when the President was out in the burnt out area? The blacken snags would be just the thing.

Good one, but you might want to change the font color to white to contrast better with the background.

Good job Paul.

The sign needs to be able to get the clear message out in about 1-3 seconds as people whiz by at least 70 mph!

It has to grab their attention and then have that clear and concise message get into the driver's cns system in 2-3 seconds.

There should be no puzzles or time delayed "Oh, Now I get the message!" There has to be instant clarity and impact.

When the drivers and their passengers pass that sign, we want them to say "It's time to stop the Insanity of the Eco Nazis!"

Then if there are more than one person in the vehicle, they will want to discuss it.

Good Job, it meets my requirements of a clear, simple and concise message that is delivered in 1-3 seconds as you whiz past the bb at 70 mph!

With enough donations, certainly! That would have to be the ultimate goal. We'll have to play it by ear.

The first weekend after it's up I imagine. If I can come up with a big enough rig (I'm thinking a 'Burban) I'll be hauling the whole clan.

Bears repeating!!!

Environmentalists brag about using fraudulent science
According to Dr. Wattenburg, Steven Schneider of Stanford University once bragged that even though one doesn’t have good science to support one’s conclusions, it’s better to scare the masses for the sake of the Earth and lie to them than it is to not say anything. You can read in DISCOVER magazine, Oct 1989, pg. 47. In part, it reads:
On the one hand, as scientists, we are ethically bound to the scientific method, in effect promising to tell the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but…. On the other hand, we are not just scientists but human beings as well. And like most people we’d like to see the world a better place, which in this context translates into our working to reduce the risk of potentially disastrous climatic change. To do that we need to get some broadbased support, to capture the public’s imagination…. So we have to offer up scary scenarios, make simplified, dramatic statements, and make little mention of any doubts we might have…. Each of us has to decide what the right balance is between being effective and being honest.

There is no balance between exaduration and honesty. It's black and white, period.

A bit long for a BB but a very "must read" for all concerned. Thank you for posting this. Do you have a link to the original article?

A bit hard to read. Remember this is a high speed read/comprehend.

When I was laying it out, I set the page up as 6" x 10". Then, when I saved it, I chose 375 x 225. I hope all of this works out well. I have never designed a bulletin board before!

Should work out fine. The BB owner is sending me the file format requirements (went out slowmail on Friday). As soon as I get that I'll be able to tell you which format to send it to me in.
I'm going to use your design barring any serious objections (which I can't forsee).
The only thing to be added will be contact info. I've got the P.O. Box and just need to get an idea on which acronym works best. I'm thinking FEND (Free Enterprise for Natures Defense) ala Carry_Okie. But I've sent a request for opinions out to the fund raising volunteers. I'll have made a final decision by the end of the day.

If I didn't mention it before, THANK YOU!!! You have done a wonderfull job. Have you considered a career in marketing (seriously!)?

Funny, that you should mention that; I have a minor in marketing and had a job doing layouts for eight years, prior to that. I was going to be an art major until I realized there are no fat artists. ;-)

Let me know if I can help in any other way.

Not really, funny that is. Your design is striking and eye catching. The hallmarks of great advertising/art.

Let me know if I can help in any other way.

I certainly will. I tell you what is really funny. We just met the other day on a Gore bashing thread. Just think, without someone like Gore to make fun of, this wouldn't have happened.

What do you think (if you've read it yet) of my latest FREE-Mail. Specifically, I need your opinion on the ACRONYM subject.
