Unfortunately, I don't think the threat of nuclear retaliation will stop Saddam, as he knows he will be facing Allah within a year

Actually, the threat of nuclear retaliation will encourage Saddam. During desert storm, launching scuds at Isreal was an attempt to get them to retaliate. If they should do so with nukes, so much the better for Saddam.

WW III being the brinksmanship between the US and USSR. Admittedly, not a lot of big battles, but battles nonetheless.

Korea and Vietnam were pretty big battles, and part of the Cold War/WWIII.

kdoxxx joined FR 7-14-02. Kdoxxx I wonder if the 3 million black christians murdered in Sudan during the 1990s think the threat of militant Islam is exagerated? I wonder if the Hindu in India, who are under perpetual terrorist attack from militant muslims would see it as an exageration? Or the hundreds of thousands of Catholics in Indonesia, Malaysia and the Philipines who are being killed and persecuted by Muslims see it as an exageration? Or the Americans who died on 9-11, and those of us who survived merely because of the tactical and technological limits of Al Qeada delivering a more devastating attack.

And as soon as it came out that we supplied Israel with the nukes, every day in the U.S. will be like September 11th.

In what way would it be a positive event?

It would be a profound deterrent for any like-minded country to engage in this sort of activity, since they would realize that they would be destroyed for it.

Otherwise, this nonsense will go on for one hundred more years. Let's end it.

It might be the best thing. It's clear the looney muslim world can NEVER be permitted to possess WMD. And thus, never to govern themselves. I suggest we seriously consider returning to an era of colonialism; i.e., make the whole damned region an American colony, and put down any rebellions that occur there with such ruthlessness and viciousness as to make all the Caesars of antiquity combined spin in their graves in envy.

I think Israel has the obligation to respond as necessary to Iraq's use of WMD against her citizens. I think America has the obligation to protect her citizens from Islamists intent on using WMD against us... even if it means preemptive action.

Should we intervene in India or for some other Democracy or civilized society which is under attack from militant Islam... good question.

Guess what? The role of world's policeman has been forced on us. I take it you prefer the current state of international lawlessness, and of allowing insane scum to acquire and use weapons of mass destruction against us?

Put it to rest, lib. As much as you yearn for it, America will not go quietly into that good night.

“Stonewall” Jackson said... “Kill'em... kill'em all!”

William Tecumsah Sherman said... “War means fight'in and fight'in means kill'in!”

Sadam won't strike Israel until we put his tit is in the ringer.

He will continue his building of WMDs and using mosques, schools and hospitals as shields.

It's a simple matter if “when” and “who's next?”

Rabid dogs must be put down!

Israel developed their own nukes several decades ago. Most of the help was provided by the French.

Those Islamists have been showing a great deal of restraint. Please, let's not stir them up./sarcasm>

< "So you think that we should be the world's policeman?"

We're we the worlds policeman when we intervened in WWII to stop the Nazis? Do you view this intervention as a positive thing? I am drawing a parallel between militant Islam and WWII Nazis. Do you believe this to be hyperbole?
