Yes, I answered their sign about 'education and health instead of defense' by indicating my frustration that my tax dollars were going towards educating kids that turn out like him.

Actually, the greens have a reputation for rioting and looting (ask Seattle). Maybe some LEO READING THIS MIGHT WANT TO CHECK OUT THIS GUY NEXT WEEK. The guy was real close to crossing the line for inciting a riot. They may riot in Boulder, but it can stay there.

Fivetoes would you do me a big favor and write a letter to the editor of the fort Collins Coloradian news paper

I have used up my quota for the letter to the editor gig in FC. I am, however writing an open letter to all veterans about the dumbass dude and his disrespect for the flag. Maybe I wil post it here so that it can be cut and pasted and everyone can send it out to everyone they know.

Well, here is a letter I threw together. You can copy it and email to nay veterans on your email list or as a basis for a letter to the editor.

Greetings,
A group calling themselves The Strength Through Peace Committee of CJPE has been holding a weekly rally at the intersection of Mulberry & College Avenue (next to Gart's parking lot), Fort Collins, Colorado every Saturday from noon to 1:00 PM.

Across the street veterans and their friends have been staging a counter protest to support our troops. This main group leading this effort is the VFW post 1781 of FT. Collins. They have been maintaining their presence since just after the destruction of the World Trade Center towers on 9-11.

Members of other groups such as Free Republic, The Tyranny Response Team and the Colorado Patriots Fife and Drum Corps have joined in the counter protests. All of these groups take pride in America and preserving our liberties for our generations to come.

While we respect the right of groups such as the CJPE to protest we do take exception to their recent behavior of disrespecting the United States flag by laying it on the ground and dragging it behind them as they did last week on August 10, 2002.

Our flag represents the freedom and liberty guaranteed by our Constitution and the reasons for our nation's existence so eloquently stated in the Declaration of Independence. Hundreds of thousands of men and women have sacrificed in our armed services for more than 225 years to see that Old Glory and all it represents remains intact.

The fact that a group of protestors bent on destroying the principles upon which our nation was founded should be in itself enough to motivate you to join us for one hour a week. The fact that they show such utter disrespect for the very symbol of freedom that allows them to stand on the corner and protest should excite you to action.

Please join us every Saturday from noon until 1:00 PM on the North East corner of Mulberry & College Avenue in Ft. Collins.

Nice letter fivetoes!

Our veterans have all done their share of defending this country, and I wish to thank every one of you. THANK YOU!!
I am not a veteran, but was raised by the WWII generation and I was taught the founding principles of this country well.

I am on the corner every time I can make it because I understand the threat by these subversives. We cannot make them go away or dissapear, they will always be with us. What we can do is to sway public opinion in our favor.
It is in all of our best interest to spare a couple of hours when possible and CELEBRATE FREEDOM. This is a chance to stand up and say "I am proud of America", I guess that is why I do it.
As for our little dancing flag dragging idiot, let him hang himself. He is aiding our cause by exposing to the public his groups intentions. Friends tell me that the FCPD is keeping an eye on the event. It is extreemly important that no one on our side gets out of control. I know you all well enough to know that is unlikely, but let me remind everyone to try to keep your emotions under control and focus on what is going on around you. No foul language or gestures have come from our side. Good.

On the brighter side: SATURDAY'S COMING AT US AGAIN!!
I'm making another sign to go on the back of my big sign, This one for our dancing idiot. It should be fun to see what kind of stupid sign he comes up with this week.

I look foreward to seeing everyone out there and I think we will be seeing our ranks growing. After I carry 10 signs, one flag, and a bicycle horn over to the Tyranny Free Zone (S.W. Corner), I welcome all visitors and helpers. RMrattlesnake, bring along your U.N. flag again, that was fun!!
Here's an idea: If you have on old beater camera around, bring it along and look like your taking pictures. They won't know what to think.
