I dont know the truth behind this but I am a little older than this man was and a retired police officer. I identify with both.I hate this young officer is dead and may God forgive Matthews but it appears he certainly got what he deserved.God be with Mr. Taylors family at such a trying time.
Saying this these are trying times for me and maybe older people like Matthews. I once believed in the Constitution as strongly as he until I found it only applied to certain people and that the government manipulates it to their satisfaction and to where it benifits them.
I have said before that government steps on ordinary folks
and it is serious when you are aging and your back to the wall and after being a law abiding citizen being thrown to the wolves by your government that you defended and did everything they required of you.Government has become dangerous and taking our rights,I joke not.
I am in the process of showing some of this once I can get a web site up and running.I would defend the average American to my death even now.But I say in all honesty I would not convict a soul that wiped out certain people in South Carolina government if I had to judge them.South Carolina through its courts and government stripped my rights to face my accusers and defend my family name and honor.
I am slow because I do not have the expertise to set up the site.I am getting help and the time is coming and I hope to be able to announce it on this site when I get it up and running.
I could accept a group of my peers condeming me whether I liked it or not.But I believe I can show a conspiracy and a coverup by certain portions of the South Carolina Government and all I want is a chance to clear my name before I die.

I hope that you get the chance to clear your name, I know that is important.

It's not likely that Don Matthews' name will be cleared on this one...he went too far.

From all of the articles I have posted and read, Matthews thought of himself as a connoisseur of the U.S. Constitution.

The news media loves stories like this because it gives them ammo against the second amendment in the Constitution.

"2nd Amendment A well-regulated militia being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed."

Don Matthews spent a great amount of time declaring the importance and values of the Constitution...but in the end...he "crapped" on the Constitution...when he killed Officer Taylor.

On the other hand, all that is known about this incident is what we are being told, maybe there was more to it?

Excuse me all to h*ll but we have another "Magic Bullet"

Can someone explain how the following can happen;

"Stark County Deputy Coroner Dr. P.S.S. Murthy said Taylor died from one gunshot wound. A bullet from Matthews’ gun entered Taylor’s left buttock and perforated his aorta, the artery that pumps blood from the heart, causing massive blood loss and death, he said.

You're right...there might be more to the story. I based my statement on what has been reported so far.

I know nothing...except what has been reported. Supposedly, the bullet entered through his buttock and moved up through his body.

Boy if I had a faster computer link I would have seen the illustration from Gray's Anatomy, (http://www.bartleby.com/107/illus505.html).

I Guess it is possible to be shot in the butt and to clip the Lower Thoracic Aorta.

I stand corrected, (my one mistake for the year... as my wife is laughing in the background).

Nothing magic about it, if Taylor was on the ground, in the process of falling to the ground, or ducking and running away when shot.

Don't believe me? Try this. Bend from the waist until your chest and your rear end are at the same level. Now try and think what would prevent a bullet from traveling up to your heart if someobody shot you in the a$$ at this moment.

My husband was in the Marine Corps (69-72) - he makes a mistake about once a year too. ;-)

If he was a freeper, then we will possibly get some bad publicity out of it. Some will want to link us with right wing extremist militia groups. I bet that Matthews probably has a lot more sinister stuff on his computer that what you find at FR. Probably has a picture of Charlton Heston waving his musket hanging on his wall, etc. parsy.

One of the articles you posted said it was .32 caliber. A bullet of any caliber can kill, but no one here would dream of saying a .32 is a high-power round.

Where do you see a .32 mentioned? Not here.

Well, the links above indicate that he was a freeper. I suggest a posthumous banning from the site. Shooting people over a traffic stop isn't cool, and isn't what FR is about. parsy.

I don't know where he read that...but if you type the word - MASSILLON - into the search engine...you will see all of the other stories I have posted...maybe it is in one of those.

Why should FR get any bad publicity. How many DC area murderers read the Washington Compost?

Unlike the familiar anemic .32 pistol ammo, the 7.62x25 appears to be rather formidable. Googling for 7.62x25 turns up stuff like this

There are several components necessary for a cartridge to achieve "stopping power" or lethal effectiveness-speed is just one and frequently the least important.

Most authorities argue that mass, bullet design, and diameter as well as "controllability"(the ability to place shots into the intended target area) are at least as important as speed.

Describing a weapon as a "military" style handgun throws a double element of confusion into the mix for the 2nd Amendment community since the public mind considers military weapons extra lethal while military thinkers point out the primary purpose of a military cartridge is to inflict incapacitating (but not necessarily lethal) damage to an opponent the better to tie up resources and deplete the will to fight. The hollow point bullet design, for example, remains banned by the Geneva Convention.

There are many aspects to this story not easily discussed in a forthright and intellectually honest manner in a public (or private, for that matter) forum.

Best regards,

You're right...there might be more to the story. I based my statement on what has been reported so far.

According to Matthews' opinion of the 1933 War Powers Act, he considered himself an enemy of the state.

I am getting ready to go out...I will not have time to find the answers to your questions.

But maybe you could look into the claim that someone made - They stated something like: anytime there is a police officer slain in the line of duty...the feds get involved.

I would look it up...but my husband is sitting in the car honking the horn...catch you later.
