Perhaps you can explain this from one of your own?And here I thought I was talking about name-calling between Bush supporters and fringe candidate supporters. Now I realize I wasn't!
Thanks for straightening me out on that.
To: 2Trievers
Without substantiation, are these not the very same reactionary remarks, that DaughterOfAnIwoJimaVet is railing against, that are lobed out into the forum that are intentionally incendiary?Uh, no.
And thanks for the courtesy ping.

My friend, if anyone can keep up with the infighting, back-biting, and myriad personal squabbles that are going on ( and are being brought out into the light ), I would be amazed!
I just get some popcorn and laugh my rear off. For instance...I had no I dea that the FAB is defunct. Another victim of internal dissent, apparently!-)

Samuel Langhorn Clemens, who died in 1876 1910,
wrote "It could probably be shown by facts and figures that there is no distinctively native American criminal class except Congress." Mark Twain knew what he was talking about and lived a full life (1835-1910).

And I've been called "unprincipled" by some of those same anti-FR that have been named in this thread because of the same...Oh, yeah - forgot that one!
To: DaughterOfAnIwoJimaVet
If I read more into your statement than I should, shoot me. But you know full well how this game is played. Ignorance of decorum is no excuse for one's behavior on Mr. Robinson's forum. If you think that incendiary baiting ONLY emanates from one side of the spectrum, then I suggest you take a closer look. &;-)

You are welcome ... sorry for your shallow introspection.

LOL!

Harrowup...I have to agree with your statement. Now, Daus is just a buddhist...one hand clapping.

"I've been called stupid, illiterate, mentally ill and a liar by people who dislike me because I do not care for Alan Keyes."
And I've been called "unprincipled" by some of those same anti-FR that have been named in this thread because of the same...
Not to mention childish, petty, hateful, RINO, etc.
There's been a huge battle here between the "Constitutionalists" and the "Bushbots". I can understand much of it; I think most of us could agree that the power and reach of the Federal government is much greater than most of the Founding Fathers could have imagined (although ever since the Revolution there have been heated arguments about just how far Federal power should reach....)
The debate seems to center on whether or not Bush is a strict Constitutionalist, and whether or not he's a true Conservative.
My own opinion is that he isn't as conservative as many of us would like, and that was clear from the primaries - but he is a moral man, which is a relief after the past eight years, and he's more conservative than Gore would have been.
The larger point, and bigger question, to my mind, is how we move the country far enough to the right so that a "true Conservative" and strict Constitutionalist could be elected, because it should be quite obvious from the last election that it could not happen today.
We seem to be dealing with a situation where one could view the glass as half-full or half-empty. Again my opinion: we're better being thankful that we have a half-full glass (rather than nothing) and working to refill it, than complaining and "refusing to drink" because we don't have a full glass yet.

I can dream, can't I? Can't things change for the better? Can't we make it happen? We have a legacy - the Constitution and the Bill of Rights, Freedom, we have to stop the erosion. Where do we start - with ourselves? Our children, our community, our politicians?
When will we stop allowing the politicians to ... oh, phooey... nevermind.

"
Those that post there from here are falling into the anti-freeper trap. Best to get away from there and let the anti's discuss their sickness with each other, anyways most of their threads have 0 comments unless it has to do with FR if that tells you something. "
Why would you say something that is untrue? There are plenty of posts at LP that have nothing to do with FR.
You'd think this place were the Amish or something, venture outside and risk being shunned.....Does it make me a whore to read bulletin boards/forums other than FR?...and God forbid that I might actually decide to post on one?
To: Amelia
In a nutshell, IMO people need to count to "10" before they hit the post button. Divergent opinions are what make FR so fascinating. The baiting and personal attacks, on both sides, is deplorable.
If FR is being attacked from without, it also appears that we have a Trojan horse in our midst. Self appointed arbiters of what is right or conservative need to get a grip and get over themselves. Destruction from without and within. Phyrric victories for both camps.
To: dixie sass
stop the erosion Socialism is a natural tendency in a democracy. The web, markets and yall are the best hope we have to protect freedom for a few hundred more years.

"Should we shun him?" - "Oh No Dear, I don't think so!..."
I love and support Free Republic and I have no time for more than two obsessive habits at any given time, so I do not even want to know what else is out there...
I do find all the infighting here and there to be horrid. Like any big family, there are always spats happening, and I am sure it sure looks silly from the outside.
To: Rebelbase
FYI
Depends on where you are hanging out at. If its with the garbage and your there long enough you start to smell like it.
Not saying you are but there are some here that do and boy do they smell. Just Like Rats! When it is all said and done FR is number 1 and that is what has the anti's so screwed up.
