p>In South Florida, an old-timer told me what it was like during the crucial week of October Missile Crisis back in 1962. During the days immediately before Kennedy spoke to the nation, trains rolled uninterrupted down the single railroad track running through Ft. Lauderdale.

This railroad track runs north/south right through the city. There was not way of going east/west except accross it. Well, during that week, if you got stuck on the wrong side of the tracks, you were stuck!! The trains rolled one after another and did not stop.

And they were carrying scary stuff, army equipment, lots of dark olive tarps covering it. Laid back resort types were scared out of their minds.

I agree. The war is going into the final, long, and bitter phase. This is a time that will require courage, strength, and commitment from the American people. It's there, and we have it, but we also have the demoralizing leftists, both in the congress and the media.

You forgot to mention neighbors that are pilots and in the reserve asking you to pick up their newspapers they have been called up.

Three good indicators: When American citizens, and particularly Defense Department *civilians* and government contractor tech reps are advised by the US Embassy to leave. That's already happening.

And when Pentagon and other military personnel are encouraged to use up their remaining leave and vacation time with their families this summer, rather than waiting/hoping for Thanksgiving or Christmas season reunions. That one's taking place, too.

My bet on the timing? Sometime after the new Fiscal Year begins, after the end of October, unless events are brought to a head sooner.

But, oh BTW, you might want to keep an eye out on the activities *here*. They get real busy when things in the air begin heating up.

that given the number of Freepers, there have to be some Freepers working or friends with key movers and shakers of the Globalist kind.

When such Freepers see those folk hunkering down or maybe vacationing in very rural, wilderness areas, it might be worth reporting it. We could get a baseline for normal and then if a crisis involved a 2-300% change from the baseline, that could be interesting.

I would say that you could be resonably sure that a war was on about the time you hear the high piched whine of bombs as they decend a few thousand feet. :-)

Actually it has been reduced to a science that is practiced by the MI (military intell). They look for any movement that is out of the ordinary. Train movement, vehicle convoys, fuel trucks, increases in training, new paint, troops changing their routines of exercise, new uniforms, sudden increase in maint, ships being refitted, sudden grouping of shore / leave, etc. etc. etc.

There are so many of these that it is almost impossible to cover them all.
