God help us all if you're in the Marines.

If anyone needs G-d's help, it is you.

The Muslim world has one Army, and it sits in Iraq.

Destroy the strongest force that an enemy can amass at the onset of the hostilities, while your troops are fresh, and your munitions and supplies are plentiful and you have won the war. Then mop up the rest.

Afghanistan was a necessary evil, it was Doolittle's raid revisited, with better special effects and live coverage, but Iraq is a real war, and we need to prepare.

I would guess that the delay between Afghanistan and Iraq could be due to a shortage in ordnance. I seem to recall reading that Clinton had not replaced a single piece of it during his administration, and we spent quite a bit more looking for Usama.

Once we have sufficiently built up our stockpile of smart bombs and Daisy Cutters, we're going in.

I had a guest on Radio FR last month, who predicted war with Iraq sometime in mid-October, that it will start with some sort of an insurrection of Sadam's enemies, who will be supported by is.

He claims that it will only last about 15 days.

To strike Saudi Arabia first, would be a mistake. You would divide your troops before attacking your strongest enemy.

You have every right to paint all libertarians as cowards. More power to you. However, you are as wrong in your assumption...

Sorry. Have a strong libertarian streak myself. Was just directed at the recipient. Click back to see what he, and a few others, were saying and I think you will understand.

The President cannot declare War.

This is true. But the President can wage war. Congress can fund a war without actually declaring it. Congress will very likely sit on both sides of the fence on this one so they can be on the right side when all the dust settles.

Look for it around January. If I am not mistaken that was the month the ground offensive stepped off in 91.

How do you see this war progressing, as in, what type of war will it be? Will it have the same elements as the one that occured with the first Bush (i.e Massive air deployment followed by a large ground deployment), or will it be 'leaner' with air elements to pave the way for elite ground forces?

And by the way while i am on that point i have a question that has been bothering me for the longest time! How come we cannot collect intel on where Saddam is so that we can drop a nice Jdam on his @$$? I know during the gulf war they had aerial hunter-killer parties after him but they could never seem to acquire his current position. Is that the reason today, or is it because we have not yet found a viable replacement for Saddam once we get him (something tells me it may be the latter since the so called Iraqi opposition does not seem to have as of yet a strong hold on the non-Kurdish Iraqi population). Anyway i was just wondering because it is weird how long we have let that guy stay! It is time we taught him the only place safe in Baghdad is 6 feet under!

Anyways back to you Mr. Marine! What type of attack do you envision based on obviously the information privy to the public (although it seems every plan is getting leaked to the media ...which is weird because that seems too much like treason to me, as in leaking sensitive information in a manner detrimental to military and national security! However i may be wrong since my focal point is business not law, however i would bet my left bottom molar that such acts are akin to treason).

Makes you wonder. First of all why would a congressman do that? Secondly why would the media broadcast that information (strangely everyone seems to be blaming congress for leaking the stuff, but forgeting it is the media that is actually disseminating the information. In England the media seems more intelligent and refuses to release information they see as vital to national security, but that does not seem to be the case in the US). I strongly believe in freedom of the press, but that does not mean they should tell Saddam what the Joint Chiefs are brewing in secret, they should not tell him our current reserves of Tomahawks, and they should not tell him where GW's favorite Deli is located and what type of gyro he likes to order from there! That is not removing freedom ....it is called common sense.

Anyway before i go off further on a tangent please share your thoughts!

Just wait, Pee Wee. The Iraqi people will be throwing flower petals in front of the tank treads as US and British forces march on Saddam's palaces.

I hope you are right, but have my doubts... last I heard on the news only the last day or so was that the British soldiers were having so much trouble with their guns jamming and their gear being defective that they could hardly get out of harms way (FNC), the only news I watch on tv if any on tv at all.

Again, I hope you're right, in fact, I actually PRAY that you're right.

Pearson: How you use library could get you booked

June 29, 2002

[picture] I was hanging out with my godson Corey recently when he made a startling confession. "I've never been inside a public library," he said.

My first impulse was to read his mother the riot act or call child welfare and lodge a complaint about cruelty to books. He explained that he used the school library. Besides, at 11, he could find information more efficiently on the Internet.

I understood, but it still made me sad. I used to love hanging out at the public library as a kid, wandering around the stacks and checking out every book I could find that was explicitly targeted above my age group.

When I was younger, getting that first library card was a badge of honor. It didn't mean you were an adult, but it meant you could hold a literate conversation; that the world of ideas was just as important to you as the world of action.

I wanted to tell him libraries aren't just about books; they're about thought, about the inner space of the human condition. Besides, some of them are pretty fancy places - towering brick edifices or artfully slanted triangles that try to imitate the geometry of youth.

I wanted to tell him these things and more, and then I thought, why bother? Until 2005, libraries and those who visit them are under suspicion.

That's because as part of the Patriot Act passed by Congress last fall and signed by the president, the FBI can rummage through bookstore and library records looking for terrorists. Borrow Green Eggs and Ham once too often and you're busted.

In April, the Colorado Supreme Court denied local law enforcement access to such records without a compelling reason; the Patriot Act trumps that ruling. While the act forbids the government from launching an investigation based on those records alone, it lets the government go fishing if it deems you the least bit suspicious.

There's other stuff in the act, of course - new authority for Internet searches, bank tellers can report suspicious deposits to the CIA, especially if they're more than $10,000 - but the most controversial aspect remains its assault on the First Amendment. A country that values freedom of speech has put freedom of reading on trial.

Even more disturbing about Section 215 of the Patriot Act: Should the FBI contact a library or bookstore about your records, that store can't tell you about it. Your right to know ends the moment you buy the wrong book.

Who knows what that is, maybe the Joy of Sex in Latvian. Even librarians aren't sure what constitutes suspicious reading, but a recent study by the University of Illinois found that 85 of 1,020 public libraries surveyed nationwide have been contacted by the FBI for reasons related to Sept. 11.

Who decides precisely which readers can be investigated? That portion of the law plays like something out of a Hollywood thriller. Warrants are issued by a secret government panel called the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court, a seven-member group that dates back to 1978. Almost nothing is known about it.

George Orwell was right, but he got the name of the book wrong. He should have called it 2002.

We consider ourselves a literate nation that encourages its kids to pick up books. How, then, to tell them books are the key to a brave new world - or a world of hurt if the government suspects you might do something bad with your knowledge.

And, you know, that's such an easy thing to determine.

Shouldn't the government have every means at its disposal to thwart terrorism? Absolutely. But individual privacy becomes endangered somewhere between frisking bodies and frisking minds.

The irony: The First Amendment forbids government from removing items it deems subversive from store shelves, but the law lets it investigate you for doing so.

The good news: Most of the law expires on Dec. 31, 2005. Congress might have been misguided, but it wasn't altogether stupid.

[About Citizen Corps Header graphic] "What can I do?" "How can I help?"

[Citizen Corps logo saying, Learn more and join today.] Over the past months America has witnessed a wellspring of selflessness and heroism. People in every corner of the country have asked, "What can I do?" and "How can I help?" Citizen Corps has been created to answer these questions.

Citizen Corps Councils will help drive local citizen participation by coordinating Citizen Corps programs, developing community action plans, assessing possible threats and identifying local resources.

The Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) is a training program that prepares people in neighborhoods, the workplace, and schools to take a more active role in emergency management planning, and to prepare themselves and others for disasters.

An expanded Neighborhood Watch Program (NWP) will incorporate terrorism prevention and education into its existing crime prevention mission.

Volunteers in Police Service (VIPS) will provide support for resource-constrained police departments by utilizing civilian volunteers in order to free up more law enforcement professionals for frontline duty.

The Medical Reserve Corps (MRC) will coordinate volunteer health professionals during large-scale emergencies to assist emergency response teams, provide care to victims with less serious injuries, and remove other burdens that inhibit the effectiveness of physicians and nurses in a major crisis.

Operation TIPS, the Terrorism Information and Prevention System, will be a nationwide program providing millions of workers who, by the nature of their jobs, are well-positioned to recognize unusual events, with training, materials, and a formalized way to report suspicious activity to the nearest FBI field office.

Citizen Corps efforts at state and local levels will be coordinated nationally by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA).

What can you do to help? Volunteer now for Citizen Corps!

Securing our safety and freedom requires that we all work together. Every American has a critical role to play. For more information on a specific Citizen Corps volunteer opportunity, please click on any of the links to the left and join today. DEATH SENTENCE FOR PRIVATE AND HOME EDUCATION, COURTESY OF SUPREME COURT

Click here for shorter media version.

Charlotte Iserbyt
July 8, 2002
NewsWithViews.com

The Supreme Court's recent 5-4 decision allowing the constitutionality of financial aid to parents which they may use at religious or private schools, including virtual academy (computer-assisted-instruction) charter schools available to home schoolers, will result in the deliberate dumbing down of all education.

In this latter regard, the writer of this article was told in 1981 by the Director of the Office of Libraries and Learning Technology, U.S. Department of Education, that " in the future all education will take place in the home, using computer-assisted-instruction, but that we will always have the school buildings for 'socialization' purposes." This is the United Nations lifelong learning/brainwashing concept (International community education) which places all community services under the umbrella of the community school. (The National Alliance of Business refers to this agenda as Kindergarten-Age 80).

The public sector succumbed years ago to federal control through funding. Now, private schools, willing to go the "voucher" route in order to get the money to stay in business, will have the opportunity to be equally dumbed down, denied a liberal arts curriculum, and stripped of all sound moral education. I can already hear the howling from voucher-supporting conservatives the first time the heavy hand of the federal government lands on a private school denying it the right to determine "what is right and what is wrong" in its curriculum, hiring practices, recital of the Pledge of Allegiance, The Lord's Prayer, etc. Those private schools which courageously, for reasons of conscience, resist vouchers will eventually be forced out of business due to their inability to remain competitive.

Interestingly enough, the blame for this incredibly dangerous Trojan Horse decision can be laid at the feet of the conservative majority on the U.S. Supreme Court.

Is school choice a plot to implement the socialist, corporate fascist, workforce training agenda for the global planned economy?

You 'betcha.

This decision will succeed in carrying out the long-standing leftist/internationalist goal of total control of all education (public and private) through the dollar. It provides a classic example of what the late Senator Edmund Muskie, D. ME. referred to when he described how the Democrats, when they couldn't get something controversial approved, would go to the Republicans for action. Muskie, known as "Mr. Metro", used as an example President Nixon's implementation of metropolitan/regional government (the unconstitutional carving of the nation into ten regions), something the Democrats had been unwilling or unable to tackle or accomplish.

The late Robert Hutchins, left-wing educator, former President of the University of Chicago, and supporter of World Government, would be ecstatic over the voucher decision. In fact, he could have written it. In an article by Virgil C. Blum in The Commonweal, January 31, 1964 entitled "Freedom and Equality", p. 513, Blum says:

"Dr. Robert M. Hutchins sees no constitutional difficulty in federal aid for the education of church-related school children in secular subjects. The fact that such education 'is permitted by religion' or that federal aid for such education is an 'aid to religion' he says 'is immaterial.' The benefit that accrues to religion, Hutchins argues, is 'incidental to an overriding public benefit.' Consequently, 'such incidental benefits,' he reasons 'do not invalidate the legislation'."

It is not difficult to understand why Hutchins would be supporting aid to church schools. He knew it was not a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow but government control and therefore, he could argue that "aid to religion" as a byproduct of government support for church schools would be 'incidental to an overriding public benefit.'

Why don't more people understand that government control of private and home school education is exactly what is going to happen? And why have religious organizations, especially those affiliated with the Catholic Church, supported school choice proposals when they have so much to loose once the government controls are implemented?

If the question of school choice is considered in a vacuum, without the benefit of an in-depth understanding of the history and highly controversial goals of American public education, if it is considered simply in the context of providing a better education for low income children, if it is considered only as an issue of equal funding for all children, one escapes the very dangerous crux of the matter: ACCOUNTABILITY... accountability to the government which is granting the voucher or tax credit.

While working in the Department of Education and involved in supervising grants and contracts to local schools, government labs and centers, United States and foreign universities, etc., I had to make sure that the recipients of the federal grants complied with federal regulations, guidelines, and criteria for that particular project. I never questioned the wisdom of such a requirement. Although the U.S. Department of Education is in itself an unconstitutional entity and should not exist, it would still have been illegal to allow recipients of federal money (extracted from the taxpayers) to spend that money as they wished. There must be accountability as long as we Americans want government to perform in an orderly, fair manner.

Elected officials and others in supervisory positions, including public school superintendents who complain about government regulations, should, when the government honey pot is passed around the board table, just say "NO". That is the only way to avoid the regulations imposed rightfully in the name of "accountability," and to remain a truly free agent. During my three-year tenure as an elected school board member I voted "NO" on every single motion to accept federal curriculum or federal funding.

So, why is it that those promoting tuition tax credits and vouchers have missed this point of accountability? Is it because it is too simple to understand? Is it because they feel that the need to level the field for low income children should take precedence over accountability requirements and that accountability requirements are not to be feared? Read on...

In 1982, while working on a U.S. Department of Education technology grant to the Association for Educational Computing and Technology, a spin-off the National Education Association, I was shocked by some internal comments in an early draft of the grant. Although I was not working in an "Eyes Only" position for the CIA or Defense Department, but for an agency which supposedly exists to provide a beneficial service to parents, children, and teachers, this paper was stamped CONFIDENTIAL! On one page there appeared the following information:

"PROJECT DESIGN FEATURES: What We (the U.S. Department of Education) Can Control or Manipulate? Under that incredible question the following items and activities were listed: State participation/selection process, role of advisors, content of program, training of state leaders, resource people utilized, basic skills content areas emphasized, perception of need to use technology." The main reason I gave that document to the press, for which I was subsequently relieved of my duties, was that I was appalled at the blatant attitude of the federal government regarding the national public school system. Do the five justices who ruled favoring school choice proposals live in such a dream world that they believe the government will require less regulation of the private and home schools than it requires of the public schools?

There is a certain naivety, Alice in Wonderland attitude, amongst those who should know better regarding what will happen to private schools and home school entities which accept vouchers. Did the Supreme Court majority not study the catastrophic history of school choice in France which resulted, in 1983, with the socialist French Government under Mitterand assuming control of all private and religious education which received government funding?

The conservative Mayor of Paris, Jacques Chirac, said the takeover threatens "the free choice of schools by parents, the basic character of private education, the freedom of management of these establishments."

The conservative Paris newspaper, LeFigaro said it was worse than that: "Private schools are no longer threatened. The propositions of Education Minister Alain Savery on the future of private education are equivalent to a sentence of death."

It is understandable that parents are desperate to find a solution to the devastating problems facing their children in the public schools. However, they should realize that the despicable situation has been planned for over 150 years (the dumbing down was deliberate...the Hegelian dialectic at work), in order to get the parents to call for and accept what is being sold to them as a solution providing freedom of choice, which in fact is what the internationalists, especially the Carnegie Corporation, has had planned for at least 75 years. The Carnegie Corporation's plan to change our economic system from free market to collectivist was published in 1934 in its little book "Conclusions and Recommendations for the Social Studies". Not only did President Reagan in 1985 sign agreements with President Gorbachev to merge the United States and Soviet education systems; the Carnegie Corporation signed even more extensive agreements with the Soviet Academy of Science to carry out the same agenda.

Let me warn parents and private school administrators: "Freedom to choose" is exactly the opposite of what they and the private sector will receive if they take one penny of federal, state or local tax money to educate children. Believe it or not, slavery is right around the corner, since once the private sector is controlled through vouchers, thereby creating a partnership with government (corporate fascism), students , having been psychologically profiled, will be tracked into specific training at an early age and later into job slots to suit the needs of the corporate sector and the global economy. That is the failed international socialist quota system that in essence provides NO CHOICE! Our children will have no freedom to choose what they want for their futures. This is going on right now in the public school sector due to Goals 2000, the School to Work Opportunities Act, and the reauthorization of the ESEA (S.1, the Bush-Kennedy "No child Left Behind Act.") Some bright 9th graders are spending 3 out of 5 days a week at the job site, rather than studying math, science, literature, history, foreign languages, art, music, etc. which would give them a liberal arts education, indispensable for upward mobility, freedom, and an understanding of the world in which they live.

Ah.....would that Aristotle, 384-322 B.C., could return to express his displeasure with this latest development. He said "Educated men are as much superior to uneducated men as the living are to the dead."

What school choice is all about is not giving parents a real choice without strings attached; it is about controlling all children (referred to as "human resources"), everywhere on this planet, in order to implement the corporate fascist global economy, with 100% participation in the global computer!

Why, otherwise, does one find most of the major players and promoters of school choice coming from the corporate sector, with the U.S. Chamber of Commerce as the largest and loudest supporter of all? TIME magazine, 6/8/92, owned by Time-Warner came close to the truth when it said "...the Bush Administration strongly supports the concepts that underlie the Edison Project...Many observers believe Whittle's long-term plan anticipates the use of these (voucher) funds. If adopted, the reform (vouchers) could funnel billions of public dollars into private schools..." And NEWSWEEK, 6/8/92, not to be outdone by TIME, said "There's no question that Whittle schools could be extremely rewarding ...If Congress approves a voucher system..." Are we so naive that we believe big business really cares about our children's futures? It cares, and rightfully so, about big profits. That's perfectly fine, but not at the expense of our children's freedom to choose their futures.

Conservatives have a problem understanding the overt and heavily-funded position of the teachers' unions in opposition to school choice, and refuse to understand or accept the NEA and AFT leadership's covert position of support. The unions would be pretty stupid not to support vouchers when they know that the international education agenda calls for such "choice" in order to implement the global workforce training agenda and that their membership will be called upon to staff the training sites. It is the average traditional classroom teacher who opposes school choice for obvious reasons, some of which are cited in this article. The following quotes substantiate the above conclusion:

The late Albert Shanker, President, American Federation of Teachers--"It may be that we can't get the big changes we need without choice."

President George Bush, Sr.--"Choice is the one reform that drives all others."

Former U.S. Secretary of Education Lauro Cavazos--"President Bush and I are determined to use the power of choice to help restructure American education."

To illustrate how the promoters of this totalitarian agenda know full well what they are doing, one need go no further than to the writings of major education change agent Chester Finn, who was once opposed to school choice but is presently a supporter of the concept. (Finn assisted in the development of the National Institute of Education in 1970, served under Secretary William Bennett as Assistant Secretary, Office of Educational Research and Improvement in the mid-eighties, and was the author of America 2000, renamed Goals 2000 during the Clinton Administration.

Finn also serves on the National Governing Board for the National Assessment for Educational Progress. The NAEP is the tool for measuring accountability to politically-correct government viewpoints (60 percent of the test items measure political correctness and school-to-work readiness). The NAEP, which President Bush mandated be administered in all schools, will determine not only curriculum, but compliance with accountability standards and therefore will be essential in the determination of which private schools and home schoolers will receive vouchers. That is the reason this decision will do away with private and home schooling education as they are presently constituted.

In an article he wrote entitled "Public Service, Public Support, Public Accountability", March, 1982, National Association of Secondary School Principals' Bulletin, p. 69, Finn said:

"Some to be sure, like to think they can have it both ways; i.e. can obtain aid without saddling themselves with unacceptable forms of regulation. But most acknowledge the general applicability of the old adage that he who pays the piper calls the tune, and are more or less resigned to amalgamating or choosing between assistance and autonomy."

And, in American Education, May, 1982, "Public Support for Private Education." Part 1, p. 5, Finn said:

"Short of scattering money in the streets or handing it out to everyone who wants some, the funding agency must define eligible recipients...This means, in a word, 'regulation,' the inevitable concomitant of public financial support."

The other side of the coin, Finn says, is "the obligation of private schools to recognize certain limits to their differentness and certain ways they must conform to the norms and expectations of a society that values and supports them..."

In returning to this most bizarre Supreme Court Decision, something comes to mind. Why did Supreme Court Justice Sandra Day O'Connor recently attend a conference in Europe to familiarize herself with World Court decisions and how they might play out in the United States, under our present Constitution? Could this school choice decision, in the future, have anything to do with world court decisions, universal/global education, public private partnerships, global work force training, etc.?

Remember, it was Karl Marx who called for a "combination of education with industrial production." And the global government being implemented today is nothing more nor less than what Lenin called for: international socialism.

Why did the majority of our elected officials in Congress and appointees on the Supreme Court allow these radical changes to take place, changes which will forever affect the futures of our children and the special nature of the greatest, freedom-loving country in the history of the world?

Because they no longer represent the best interests of their constituents. Their allegiance is to the global elite at the United Nations and elsewhere, from whom they receive their marching orders. Or, especially in the case of our elected officials, they have been so dumbed down in the public schools that they didn't even know what form of government and economy they swore to uphold when they assumed office.

Our government, through this latest decision, has placed the last nail in the coffin of "freedom". This decision finalizes the exchange of our highly successful free market system and republican form of government for a failed 'ism' form of government. Whether our new form of government will be corporate fascism, socialism, or communism (all of which differ only in minor ways), remains to be seen.

Note: Credit for some of the research in this article goes to Barbara M. Morris who wrote the indispensable book on the dangers of school choice: "Tuition Tax Credits...A Responsible Appraisal", 1983, and to Billy Lyon who wrote a fascinating treatise "Connections and Conflicts of Interest (Or, There Ought to Be an Investigation!) 1992, which documents the role of conservatives, liberals, corporations. foundations, etc. in the promotion of school choice and the school-to-work agenda.

H.R. 1, S. 1
or
NO AMERICAN LEFT ALONE!
President Bush's "No Child Left Behind" could be referred to as "No American Left Alone" since what we are looking at is what the National Alliance of Business, which supports "planned economy," refers to as Kindergarten through Age 80 Education/Training. This is basically the United Nations Lifelong Learning- Brainwashing Agenda under the umbrella of what will eventually be "unelected" school and community councils (council is defined as "soviet" in many dictionaries) which will make all decisions for us at the local level. Former Senator Bill Bradley, N.J., called for this on one of the Sunday morning talk shows about four years ago. The Governors, very recently at their NGA conference, discussed the use of unelected (politically-correct?) citizens to police our communities. This is so unbelievable I find it hard to even write about it.
Although Pres. Bush, according to a Washington Times article by Bill Sammon, 1/9/02, said in regard to the education bill he signed that "Parents will have more information about the schools and more say in how their children are educated . . . from this day forward, all students will have a better chance to learn, to excel and to live out their dreams." Pardon me, but this is a plain lie, and a lie embraced by Mass. Senator Ted Kennedy and others supporting this legislation as well.
How can parents have a say in how their children are educated when the federal government is man- dating testing of children's attitudes and values? (Sixty% of the test items on National Assessment of Educational Progress - NAEP are attitudinal.) Bush's mandate for testing will of course call for a mandated federal curriculum since one can't test what one hasn't taught. What tiny bit of local control remained prior to this legislation will be swept away. School superintendents and good teachers are already complaining about having lost control.
Even the New York Times has problems with Leave No Child Behind. It bragged that the more than 1000-page giant education bill will "dramatically extend the federal role in public education" and, indeed, is "a breathtaking intrusion of the federal government on states' control of education."
This legislation, which passed 381-41 in the House and 87-10 in the Senate in January 2002, is accompanied by the largest dollar increase ever in federal education aid. Education Week, 1/9/02, describes the No Child Left Behind Act as follows: "The mega-measure is accompanied by the largest dollar increase ever in federal education aid. The Department of Education's overall budget will rise by $6.7 billion in fiscal 2002, to nearly $49 billion." (Emphasis added)
The legislation, although pretending to terminate the highly controversial Goals 2000 and the School-To-Work (STW) legislation passed in the nineties under President Clinton and initiated in the eighties under Presidents Reagan and Bush, Sr., actually continues the totalitarian agenda since all states have implemented the requirements of Goals 2000 and STW. Goals 2000 was originally called America 2000 under former President Bush who in addition called for implementing the Soviet system of workforce training in 1991 (See Congressional Record). This STW system calls for quotas for doctors, lawyers, janitors, etc. and limits freedom of choice for children or adults.
Minnesota and Indiana are two of the states that mandate children choose a job/career track in the 8th grade -- just like Cuba or any other communist/socialist country! How accurate the National Alliance of Business has been to refer to this agenda as Kindergarten through Age 80 (life-long learning)!
The system is the UN's lifelong learning (brainwashing) system called for by Lenin (a.k.a. international socialism).
Very simply, such a communist system (Lenin's world government) can only be implemented when the following components have been put in place. Very sadly, to say the least, most, if not all of the following actions have taken place. They are included in my book The Deliberate Dumbing Down of America . . . a chronological paper trail.

1. CONTROL OF EDUCATION--
The chairman of the Communist Party, U.S.A., 1932, William Foster, in his book Toward a Soviet America, called for a U.S. Dept. of Education, the teaching of evolution, elimination of nationalism and religion in schools, the teaching of internationalism, and for the use the Pavlovian method (direct instruction) on the students, etc., etc.
Note: School choice is a Trojan Horse. The only requirement left to implement school choice is tuition tax credits or vouchers which will take over the private sector. If those choice proposals do not fly in legislatures or in Congress, federally-funded charter schools will be used, as is already the case in many states, to implement the school to work planned economic system.
2. CONTROL OF ECONOMY--
The planned economy will come to us through school to work legislation. There will be quotas for jobs; no upward mobility for children. Students must select their careers by 8th grade. It is the same as the Cuban system. STW is implemented in all states. This is the failed elitist system which brought the Soviet Union down but which is still being used worldwide. And, now our Congress has voted to implement it. How deliberately dumbed down our Congress seems to be! They don't even know what form of government and economy we are supposed to have.
Of interest is that Lynne Cheney, wife of Vice President Richard Cheney, spoke eloquently, prior to the election, in opposition to the STW agenda being implemented in the United States. How sad that her advice was not sought or listened to in regard to this most controversial initiative which will result in changing our economic and political system.
3. CONTROL OF CHURCHES AND PRIVATE SCHOOLS--
The Washington Post refers to President Bush's Faith-Based Initiative as "communitarianism" which is defined in most dictionaries as "a member or supporter of a communistic community" or "a communistic form of government." The camel's nose is under the tent right now with Bush using/funding churches to "tutor" students in failing public schools. Churches which accept federal monies will be controlled by the government as in fascist/communist countries. The same federal control applies to private schools or homeschooling families who accept one penny of federal money.
4. CONTROL OF NATION THROUGH UNELECTED COUNCILS AND DROPPING OF COUNTY, STATE, NATIONAL BORDERS-- This control takes place through regional government which was referred to by a communist writer for Daily World as the Soviet system that has "worked so well in the Soviet Union!" Regional government is being implemented worldwide. The European Community is a good example of a major region being set up for the world management system (Lenin's international socialism). Does anyone need to be reminded that unelected councils are appointed councils? Regrettably, we're getting participatory democracy. You get to participate IF chosen!
5. CONTROL OF PHYSICAL/MENTAL HEALTH SYSTEM--
The government will direct and fund health care through the schools (school-based clinics for all children regardless of income). Hilary's health care system (socialized medicine) is being implemented without a whimper from those who fought its implementation. This seamless web includes all services under the umbrella of the school district (birth through death).
6. CONTROL OF LOCAL POLICING--
Community monitoring will be accomplished through the Community Oriented Policing System (COPS), put in under President Clinton. His administration laid ground work for a strong community crime control strategy with federal, state, and local partnerships to fight crime. From the Clinton Administration's Law and Enforcement Strategy, March 1999, we read, "Across the country an expanded number of community police officers have been working together with block watches, neighborhood patrols, high school guidance counselors, probation and parole officers, religious groups and local businesses . . . ".
President Bush is focusing more on community policing in schools. His recently passed Patriot Act will enforce this totalitarian agenda and limit citizen resistance. Eyes will be watching over us continually!
7. PARTNERSHIPS--
Business, education and religious partnerships with the government, pointed out above, extend the socialist/communitarianism agenda. An international conference entitled "Community Schools and Education Policy in Transition Countries During the 21st Century" was held October 9-13, 2000, in Omsk (Siberia) Russia. The goal was "to establish partnership between government education departments and the community school movement" (taken from Russian URL on Community Education.) Community Educator, out of Alaska, in the early 1970s at a Community Education conference in Washington, D.C., defined community education as the Chinese Communist system. Community education now comes under a variety of names including site-based management, regionalism, community ?whatever', school-based ?everything', lifelong ?anything', sustainable development, communitarianism and other terms. (For those interested in this subject, education researchers are in possession of filing cabinets loaded with community education research, and may be contacted through Iserbyt. Deliberate Dumbing Down of America also carries several important entries on Community Education.)
8. CONTROL OF LAND--
Environmental legislation and sustainable development efforts (beginning with the Earth Summit, Rio 1992 and now finished with Earth Charter in 2000), implement controls on the right to own and use property as one wishes. The President's Council on Sustainable Development (Clinton in 1996) helped form a joint effort between the U.S. Conference of Mayors and the National Association of Counties. They came together to form The Joint Center for Sustainable Communities. And the U.S. Conference of Mayors adopted a resolution endorsing the Earth Charter in 2001.
9. CONTROL OF BEHAVIOR USING SKINNERIAN/PAVLOVIAN-- This psychological method is stimulus-response-stimulus dog/animal training. It has recently been referred to as the Direct Instruction method, which is failed OBE mastery learning. Direct Instruction (same as mastery learning) is now being used to teach reading and math and is especially necessary for workforce training for dumbed down "third world" skills. Skinner said "I could make a pigeon a high achiever by reinforcing it on a proper schedule." Following this reinforcement method, teachers are forced to read from a script, use hand signals as in dog training, clap their hands and, pop candies in students' mouths when they get the correct answer. President Bush is mandating this method in his legislation that calls for retraining teachers to use "scientific research based" teaching methods.
Not only is above reward and punishment method being used in the schools, one sees it all around in our communities with citizens who conform to the government agenda receiving rewards and those who resist being ignored, isolated or punished.

CHRONOLOGICAL RECORD

(Taken from "the deliberate dumbing down of america" . . . A Chronological Paper Trail:)

1930s: Chamber of Commerce plans for UN, regional government, school vouchers, etc.

1932: William Foster, Chairman of the United States Communist Party, has his book, Toward a Soviet America published. It calls for everything that has since been implemented in our nation's schools, including the establishment of the U.S. Dept. of Education.

1934: Carnegie Corp. plans to change America's free economic system to socialism/collectivism in the New Order. They pilot an 8-Year Study using Outcome-based Education.

1942: Time Magazine publishes an article revealing plans for the Federal Council of Churches to implement world government.

1945: The United Nations is created by a majority of communists. Alger Hiss and his close friend, Canadian General and psychiatrist Brock Chisholm, made statements calling for using the schools (retraining the teachers) to get rid of the conscience (right and wrong).

1953: Congress set up the Congressional Investigation of Tax-exempt Foundations. Gaither, President of the Ford Foundation, tells Norman Dodd that foundations receive directions from White House in regards to using tax-exempt monies to change America so that it can be comfortably merged with the Soviet Union.

1958: Eisenhower signs the first U.S.-Soviet agreements.

1965: The Elementary and Secondary Education Act moved our pre-1960 excellent education system from academics to behavior modification and values destruction (beginning of OBE/Skinner method).

1978: The U.S. Department of Education was created.

1981: Due to the Chicago disaster in 1981 when one half of the Chicago inner city school children dropped out due to Benjamin Bloom's ten year mastery learning experiment on minorities, Spady et al changed the label to OBE. Thus, federal funding of OBE began in 1981. (D.I. is the new label for the failed mastery learning.) President Reagan implements public/private (corporate fascist) partnerships by creating the President's Task Force on Private Sector Initiatives.

1982: President Reagan scheduled to meet with the developer of major Skinnerian mastery learning program in the Bronx, N.Y.

1984: The federally funded paper entitled "Shamanistic Rituals in Effective Schools" by sociologist Brian Rowan, Spady's closest associate was presented at the annual meeting of the American Educational Research Association. It discusses conning inner city parents into believing their children are doing well by using "Effective School Research" (Pavlovian/Skinnerian ML/DI: teach to the test and manipulation of demographic statistics, etc.) Washington Post article entitled "Industrial Policy Urged for GOP" was published May 14, 1984. This article explained involvement of leading Republicans in advocating Republicans shed some of their deep-rooted antipathy to a planned economy.

1985: U.S.-Soviet (Reagan-Gorbachev) and Carnegie-Soviet Education Agreements merged the two nations' education systems and set in motion a planned economy.

80s and 90s: These were years of involvement of Secretaries of Education, Bell, Bennett and Alexander, and President George Bush, Sr. in America 2000. Clinton continued America 2000, implemented by Secretary Riley, under the new name, Goals 2000.

1990s: Carnegie Corp.'s Marc Tucker, governors, corporations, etc. implemented Goals 2000 lifelong l learning out of UN and Soviet-style STW across country during nineties.

2001: President George Bush, Jr., embraced by Senator Ted Kennedy, MA and Congressman George Miller, CA, call for passage of H.R. 1, S. 1, which completes a socialist takeover. This is the final nail in the coffin. Has anyone looked inside to see who is being buried.

CONCLUSION--
If you want to bake a cake you usually use a recipe which calls for certain ingredients; if you want to implement international socialism (communism) one would have to take certain actions over a period of time which are clearly spelled out in the Communist Manifesto and in William Foster's "Toward a Soviet America," and in many other books and documents. Those actions constitute a "recipe" so to speak. All those requirements have been met. I've spelled them out for you: free trade, international banking system, U.S. Dept. of Ed with teaching of evolution, humanism (atheism), internationalism, and use of Pavlovian method; faith-based initiatives (communitarianism defined in dictionaries as communism) and choice to control schools and community through the tax dollar, STW to control economy (planned economy), Patriot Act to control "us" when we resist. Now I ask, "What label would you put on a system which encompassed those elements?"
No longer can we who love America and what she stands for say "If we don't do something, such and such will happen." We are now obliged to say "International socialism has happened and the United States is a major player in this unthinkable agenda." Isn't this tragic? Americans were bamboozled when the Soviet Union fell apart, believing communism was dead, when in fact it simply leaped across the oceans.
We were taken through what I refer to as The Four-Prong Fork, a most diabolical undertaking:

1. GRADUALISM
(Put a frog in cold water, heat it up gradually and he stays until he's dead). The top change agents at the UN, federal government and state government levels, including non-governmental persons and entities, have been at this game for over one hundred years.

2. SEMANTIC DECEPTION
This is the use of familiar, nice sounding terms, which have one meaning to good Americans and entirely different meaning to "change agents." Example: Basic skills used to mean 3R's; now it means believing in tolerance of all behavior; the need to move to an international system; the need for a new Constitution; the need for a new economic system.

3. HEGELIAN DIALECTIC
Create a problem; people scream; impose solution; people embrace "it" -- not realizing they have been taken to the cleaners through the deliberate creation of a problem. Example: Create high school budgets that create high property taxes which causes people to have to sell their houses and move. Then propose a solution to move funding of education from local to state level; the people embrace the idea since it lowers their property tax. However, locals have just lost all their control of schools to state, federal, and the international level. Also, dialectic includes moving from sound morals and values to situational ethics through constant discussion using group process. Pit "It's wrong to lie" against "It's OK to lie" and nearly all agree that
lying is wrong. But through discussion and presentation of situations calling for compromise, one arrives at "Sometimes it's OK to lie." Then eventually, one comes to the realization it is OK to lie, or kill, or steal, or do anything else that makes one feel good anytime one feels like it.

4. BILLIONS OF TAX DOLLARS
Our money is spent on social engineering. Tax money is not spent on academic education as most people believe. It appears we are getting a lot of taxation and very little representation.
SOLUTION (other than a tea-party) The only solution that has the remotest possibility of saving our country, outside of getting out of the United Nations, is to throw out all rascals who voted for this education legislation in the next elections. The litmus test for candidates running for Congress should be "will they work to abolish the U.S. Dept. of Education and break up that cozy, in-the-same-bed, relationship it shares with the Department of Labor and the UN?"
Choice proposals are traps supported by multinational corporations (David Rockefeller, etc., and by top education union officials -- not teachers -- who have no allegiance to the USA and care nothing for our children's upward mobility or America itself.) Education must be returned to the local level, bypassing even state education agencies that take their orders from and receive between 60 and 80% of their operational budgets from the federal government.
Education must be restored to its state of excellence prior to 1960 - the best education system in the world. This can be done, and must be done, if our children are going to have upward mobility and if America is going to survive as a free country.
My book is into its third printing in two years. Barnes & Noble.com had it ranked # two in terms of sales out of 1290 books in its category of"educational change" (May 2001)

I dunno...

There are a million different options...as you can tell if you have been paying attention to the NYT.

Rumsfeld wants something creative. The Generals want brute force that can guarantee victory.

Given Iraq's performance in 91 I'd say Rumsfeld is on the right track.

I think it couldnt hurt to start another full fledged air campaign while simultaniously you quietly arm an indiginous force....let them attempt some half***ed coup and when they get squashed just say they requested our assistance. At that point we could dump in 50-100,000 troops we have pre-position in the AO.

???

I really dont know what they are planning. I enjoy hearing others scenarios though.

Eitherway, I see us quickly creating a base inside of Iraq once the bullets start flying. Maybe more than one. Our own centers of gravity if you will.

As to Saddam....IMO we arent likely to pick him off. He has gone underground [Literally].

It would be one of the greatest strategic military moves of all time.

Would the former Soviet Union (and/or China) have anything to gain by embroiling the Saudis in a conflict with the US?
