I was talking to a friend last night (brought by a bottle of 100% Deet he says Walgreen's is carrying at the moment) and he mentioned the Big Story the city is not talking about at the moment is that all the birds are dying over at Audubon.
He also said that as many as 10K could have the disease and never know it and that those who die usually are elderly or have some sort of suppressed immune system. Basically, his argument was that it was better for most folks (hale as a rule) to catch the disease than not so as to build up immunity.
Your thoughts?

It's true that those who get sickest and/or die are the elderly or those with immunosuppression. The immunity duration or intensity conferred by mild infection has not been tested. There is a WNV vaccine for horses but it also has not been adequately tested. Remind you of any other diseases?
