The political difference between Communism and Democracy, is that in a Democracy, even the Communist is allowed a voice, whereas any alternative political viewpoint in the Communist state is silenced. And the political difference between Democracy and a Republic is that even if 75% of the voters want to oppress a class of people, the Constitution forbids it. In the Democracy the mob rules by sheer number of votes. In the Republic, the Constitution protects everyone.

I would be more than happy to debate ideas with them in the way described in that post. They will not engage, though. They lob what they think is a provocative comment simply to amuse themselves, then run for cover. I suppose they know they cannot hold their own in a discussion of ideas.

Just posted this in the Freeper zone...WE will NOT allow the ignorant and arrogant to hijack the foundation upon which our democracy was built. There's your first clue that the poster is a leftist goon...the U.S. is a constitutional republic, not a democracy, no matter how badly this idiot would like to ignore the constitution, D.O.I., and every other document this country was founded on. We live according to the word of law, not on mob mentality. I'd like this absolute fool to take a walk on a Saharan plain to get a real taste of democracy, nature-style.
