"I would rejoin the NRA, but......

I hope that isn't your excuse not to join the GOA, SAS or any of the other organizations. There are always more excuses to do nothing than there is to do something.

I joined GOA instead -- I don't know how they are spending my money, but at least it isn't on solicitations for yet more money!

Do ya'll get a magazine at least?

Maybe you should find out. You are the seventh GOA member that I will ask this question and have yet to get an anwswer: What gun law has the GOA stopped?

"What gun law has the GOA stopped?"

Everything that I know about GOA is posted on their website at http://www.gunowners.org/ but I don't try to track the plethora of specific bills that GOA and other organizations try to fight off in Congress -- I subscribe in the hope they will represent my interests, kind of like Congressmen are supposed to do (now there's a can of worms). I prefer that GOA posts news to a website rather than spend money on a slick magazine -- it is more timely, efficient and economical.

Hate to say this but I'm not interested in doing my own research on this.
If someone would have asked me if the NRA had stopped anything, I could have said immediately that they stopped a law in Florida a couple of months ago requiring trigger locks.
Now I have to look for an eighth GOA member to give me a straight answer.
By the way, the NRA started a magazine before there were TV sets. They also run two websites because one isn't enough.

The NRA is very good about taking credit for actions that would have been more properly credited to local organizations.

Then that should be easy for you to prove.
Show me one case where that's true. If it was, the biggest case lately was Emerson and the NRA never took credit for it.

I forgot to mention. I'm invited to a Grassroots seminar on the 25TH of August. It's to help start, organize and fund local groups. It's hosted by the NRA.

That's true, but remember, not everyone has a computer.
BTW the NRA-ILA sends a site update daily with news. You can sign up, by calling 1-800-392-8683 to receive these emails.
Anyways, it's good that you belong to a gun rights organziation. Take care.
