I imagine some intel branches with advanced digital scan could see the configuration on the wings and flaps...millisecond world..but probably where the problem lies.
The SU-27 is said to have a very good thrust ratio..one engine is sufficient to power out if the second fails.
I saw some lateral slide prior to this 27's crash.
If the pilot tried to thrust out..the nose would have pitched upward..and we would have seen it.
The plane simply dropped!
will probably have to wait for Flight Journals or Janes intel commentary...sometimes "Combat Aircraft" mag carries intel evaluation on flight accidents.
Anyway...How do you say " Computer Glitch" in Ukranian?

>>I imagine some intel branches with advanced digital scan could see the configuration on the wings and flaps...millisecond world..but probably where the problem lies.<<

Perhaps. But I'll still play the odds on this one, and the odds are pilot error.

>>The SU-27 is said to have a very good thrust ratio..one engine is sufficient to power out if the second fails.<<

That is why we put two engines jets, you lose one you can still fly.

>>I saw some lateral slide prior to this 27's crash.<<

Better eyes/computer than me ;-)

>>If the pilot tried to thrust out..the nose would have pitched upward..and we would have seen it.<<

Not really. If the pilot applied max thrust, all that would have happened (pre-departure) would be increased airspeed/G in the turn. The nose would have been unaffected.

>>The plane simply dropped!<<

And the question of "why" remains.

>>will probably have to wait for Flight Journals or Janes intel commentary...sometimes "Combat Aircraft" mag carries intel evaluation on flight accidents.<<

Indeed.

>>Anyway...How do you say " Computer Glitch" in Ukrainian?<

How about, "My abacus broke."

Given the Russians loss of face

That would be the Ukranians. This incident follows the one in which they shot down that airliner during an exercise.

Mr. GR2, all that stuff is over my head, but its mildly reassuring to know that you post here rather than at, say, Democrat Underground.
