The squirt told me that it was "technically illegal" and may be a felony. The FAQ on the website, on the other hand, says that it's OK That's the problem in the nutshell with gun regs, especially Kalifornia's. Most of the time, the police and officials don't even know what the laws mean, and some of the laws contradict each other, or are so vague as to be open to easy abuse. But then again, that's likely the whole point, to make a nest of laws so complex that anyone even remotely connected with gun ownership can be convicted of a felony.

All the "assault weapons" owners in CA need to take their weapons to the State Capitol building when the legislature is in session, and demand that they restore the rights guaranteed to them by the United States Constitution. If they refuse, let the revolution begin. Set a date. Regain your freedom. The second amendment does not say the "right of the people to keep and bear SOME arms". It does not say the "right of SOME people to keep and bear arms" IT SAYS THE RIGHT OF THE PEOPLE TO KEEP AND BEAR ARMS! PERIOD.
I don't see people getting permits from the guvmint to exercise the right of free speech. Soon the time will come to rise up. Buy ammo. The second American Revolution will come. It will be the only way to turn America around.

California no longer recognizes the United States Constitution.
Im born (Mercy Hospital J Street, Sacramento!) and raised in California.
But I must leave California, its no longer my home.
Sad but soon I will not even be allowed to drive my Honda Passport or eat a hamburger.
I own zero guns but clearly see the violation of what was once the Constitution of the United Sates as incremental moves towards removing ALL constitutional rights.
And as California goes so goes the Nation.
Our only hope is if Al Qeda nukes Sacramento, LA and San Francisco.

Austin is probably the most liberalized city in Texas.
That said it's still better than Kali.
