If the US was Russia back at the turn of the last century, the Democrats are the ones who would be nuzzling up to Stalin's sphincter!I thought they did. I also heard rumors (not sure, however) that one reason many Demon Cats wanted to enter World War 2, was to help the Soviets. Have you ever heard anything similar to that?

But how does that relate to what I said? My thought, is that the Demon Cats wanted to help the Soviets beat the Germans because they liked the communists in Russia. I do not see what Nancy Reagan has to do with that.

Everyone shares the same philosophy: Everyone just wants the government to do what they want the government to do, and nothing else.

Oh my, what a silly post/article. The fringe elements on FR have it right; on the big economic and redistributionist issues, the two parties are not all that different, which is understandable since they compete for the same swing voters. Both parties are on the 45 yard line on opposite sides of the 50 yard line maybe. Other than abortion, most of the emotionalism we see here and elsewhere is over symbolic issues and personalities.

They are of the new "elitest" globalism. It began in this country with the surrender of control of our capital....was it 1913? College professors in place, they began the "social warfare" on our kids in the 60's. Next came "Free Trade" which internationalized our production of our national wealth...the result of which is rich enemies and poor citizens with the top 2% owning as much of our wealth as the remaining 98%. They are so infiltrated in our society today as to blind the eyes of most of our citizens. Welcome to the NWO...or whatever it is calling itself these days.

It's no comfort that Democrats just want to tax and control that which I own--this is called Facism.
I "own" it--they tell me what I can do with it.
No I know I hate 'em.

I got this far Democrats, as a whole, are into control. That is, instead of government ownership of our nation's agriculture, business and industry, the Democratic Party favors private ownership. The responsibility for operation is then placed in private hands, rather than governments. and I wanted to stop reading and post - The author just defined FASCISM A while back, I made the statement that the Chinese are more fascist than socialist or communitst, now as well.

By and large they are Socialists, more specifically National Socialists or NAZIS. They will let you have nominal ownership of something but tell you how to run it and what you can do with it. It will be your fault if it fails, but they will be your "silent partner" if it does well, taking a huge percentage of the profit to purchase power for themselves.
Acutally, they are VAMPIRES. They will suck your blood until you can no longer sustain yourself and must suck the blood of others to continue to exist. They will drain you into dependency. A good example is the Social Security system. They tax you so much that you can not provide for yourself and the only way you can survive is to rely on them to suck someone elses blood and route it over to you. Or education -- they tax you so much you can not send your own children to a good school and must rely on the public education system which is funded by money taken at gun point from others.
Democrats, with very few exceptions, are the political manefestation of American Liberalism. Evil. They are not political opposition, but the enemy of the Constitution -- the domestic enemy that many of us have sworn to protect the Constitution from. They should be destroyed in detail. Within the law, of course.

Socialism, after all, implies outright nationalization of the means of production. That is an arbitrary definitition at an arbitrary stage of development.
Among the first remarks on the thread is NAZI, the national form of socialism which is functionally indistinguishable.
Control of all facets of every life is an essential element of either process.
I know I lived though Stevenson, and Kennedy and Johnson and I know that variety of Democrat, and this ain't it.
Now, the government will "take care" of you and in return will define the tiniest details of your life.
Of course, if you are one of the parasites, it matters little.
If you are one of the work drones, it matters for everything, for you neither enjoy the benefits, not the leisure that being a parasite provides.
It may be called "compassion", or "our duty" but stripped of all the BS it's the oligarchy of the bureaucrat; the new nobility. I fear the solution ultimately will be the same as the solution with every previous national problem of the sort.
Once the number of parasites exceeds the number of workers...
To: JessicaDragonet
In my neck of the woods...we call that stealing. Well, on the international level we spice it with "compassion" and "justice" and call it Socialism.
To: tcostell
They believe in free speach, so long as it's an opinion that they agree with. Otherwise, they brand it as "hate speech" and try deperately to supress it. And the truly frightening part is that it's so transparent a second grader can see it.
Kinda makes the only solution inevitable, doesn't it.
After all, we can say that the emperor has no clothes only so long...
