Cadaver Dog guy = David Arquette.

To the canadian expert the obvious answer is yes. Then maybe Dusek should get the expert from Canada to come testify. Is that Canadian expert from Vancouver?
To: mommya
That's a definite possibility. I think they knew kid were in it.

If its true in one extreme environment why assume that its not true in another extreme environment. OK. A truthful answer. BECAUSE IT WASN'T AN EXTREME ENVIRONMENT. San Diego in Feb. isn't CANADA.
You must be thinking of weather in Connecticut in February, that might be LIKE CANADA.

Let's go back again..this is frustrating me too..k? When did DW say he went there to rest? If it was after 3 am why so late?
To: Bluebird Singing
All of the emerald green and red fibers that were found on Danielle's body that were not found in DW's environment.

Well apparantly they traveled from the water in the streambed over to the hiker guy who wasn't even dead. Yeah, but the flew over on a Robin. (cut rate tickets)
(/sarcasm)

He cruised all the probable dump sites that weekend (16th), with an old high school boy friend (from Florida?) against police wishes. I DON"T know that he was spotted at Dehesa Rd. There has been no testimony of a witness that said the Motorhome was ever at Dehesa either.
On the 18th, Damon told the press that the searchers should be looking closer to SD.
On the 20th, Brenda told the press that she felt a breakthrough in the search was near.

LOL !! I'm sure that Frez will agree that Dustin Hoffman is a natural for Diane Halfman. If he's not available, Robin Williams might be able to pull it off.
Sheesh......this will be costly.

Hmmm,
Velly intelesting bit from the link you posted:
Although people cannot detect the odor from a newly-dead body, flies, especially fleshflies (Sarcophagidae) and blowflies (Calliphoridae), swarn to the odor from as far away as two miles. In wooded area, especially where there have previously been dead animals or humans, they begin to land on a corpse within seconds, and within on hour some species may produce maggots. Even in area without prior bodies, they land on exposed corpses within the first few hours (wrapping or burning a body delays this).
I can't be sure, but I think when they speak of "dry" conditions they're talking about a real desert - i.e. the Sahara - not San Diego (poison oak doesn't grow in the "real" desert IMHO). Note that these guys say blowflies "swarm from up to two miles away".
Unless DW had an accomplice it appears that he didn't do it.
IMHO, that is.

Thank you...I'm trying to find out this problem with time... When did he park the MH there and when did he SAY he parked it there? 7pm? How come the other guard didn't see him there?
To: PrairieDawg
could the blowflies have been munching on something else in the area (something within 500 ft or so)before flying to Danielle's body? Gee, could it have been the DEAD DOG that attracted the searchers in the first place ?
:)

Sorry, I thought you may have forgotten that there was testimony. You just didn't like it.

Subtle, very subtle. And I laughed!

I wonder if the dead dog found near Danielle was taken and studied for maggot infestation.I thought about that also especially after hearing that Avila lured/conned Samantha with a "dog" story. It should have been taken and examined for insect activity or at least photographed for evidence and hair etc. preserved as same as almost all items at the crime site.
How interesting would it have been if it showed the dog was at the site exactly as long as DVD was?
I wonder if the dog could have been used to cover up the possibility of someone discovering the smell of DVD? So someone could say, "Yeah, what is that smell? Oh no! Great, a dog died in here, must have pushed the door open and got locked in here."
Nahhh, now I'm giving these people too much credit, although an experianced and VERY dangerous serial killer would think this way to avoid detection.
Bottom line yes. Every bit of possible evidence should have been collected and properly processed/digitally photographed at least.
To: KLT
Oh ... also the
prosecution must provide the body of evidence going beyond any reasonable doubt that Westerfield murdered Danielle. The standard of "evidence that hasn't been explained away" is far to low. Even if the evidence wasn't "explained away", the evidence itself may not be compelling to demonstrate murder by Westerfield.
In this case, for example, one interpretation of the currently unrebutted expert bug testimony is that another person was involved, at least to dump the body. In that case Westerfield would have to be acquitted, in my opinion that is uninformed as to CA law, because the other party may have committed the murder and Westerfield's involvment incidental.
So then the evidence is true per the prosecution's presentation but Westerfield is resonably doubted to be the murderer.

"I understand your post. You are saying that if Westerfield attempted to remove the hairs he wouldn't have missed all the others. Yor assumption presupposes that a cleaning would eliminate all hair. I disagree. A cleaning could occur and would not be likely to eliminate all hair but could eliminate most hair. I don't even think an auto detailer is that good. If it was cleaned then hair would be removed and it could be assumed that if any is left there was probably more of the same type of hair befoe cleaning."
I have heard of no reliable evidence that indicates it had been cleaned to any degree and in fact, there is evidence and testimony to indicate that there was not a serious cleaning of the MH attempted.
If all the dog and human hair that was found was the result of it having been left over, after a cleaning, then, IMO, the MH would have had to have been a literal mass of hair, prior to any such hypothetical cleaning. Again, that's JMO.
To: John Jamieson
Hmmmmm..... Interesting.
To: VRWC_minion
If she played there she would have left more fingerprints, more hair and no blood. Is that conclusion based on another statistical model? Exactly how many fingerprints, exactly how many hairs, and their is no proof there was any blood.
