On the Deep Space chart the latest data point is Sept a year ago. What would be the point right now? I assume the pullback from deep space shown on the chart is due to Jazzman Greenspan and his Feds lowering of the prime rate.

Wow! Another Texas hedger! LOL!

Do you have something against profit-loss curves with infinite slopes?

Hmmmnn. I wonder if I could write naked calls and use the money to buy puts.

I had clients like you when I was a broker...those strategies work amazingly well as paper trades; for some reason, when it's real money, they fail. ;^)

Yawn....I'm,of course, being sarcastic about buying puts with short money, etc.

I shorted Fannie Mae and covered myself with cheap calls (similar to a put) back at 82 per share. Risks are both known and constrained.

Cool screen name, btw.

Uh..I thought you were joking...thus the ;^)...

I've always had a soft spot for crude oil calls; it's the only futures options series where I've hit the home-runs a guy needs to make up for the normal attrition of out-of-the-money options.

Best of luck in the market!

Go gold!

"What would be the point right now?"

I don't know... but I shall try to find out.

"I assume the pullback from deep space shown on the chart is due to Jazzman Greenspan and his Feds lowering of the prime rate."

That could account for the horizontal axis. But not the vertical. I don't think the fed has much to do with it at this point.

"......unless you consider "war" as a fight over who can spend and regulate the most."

I certainly do.

The power, when in office, is so narcotic like to these pols that IMHO the majority will absolutely do anything to stay in power and that just the ones that are actually for the "American" way of life.

I've discounted the obvious members of Congress that are Marxist-Socialists and are trying to reduce America to a third world debtor nation.

Thanks. First thing I thought of when you posted this chart was the Herzsprung-Russel diagram of stellar evolution. Somewhere in there could be supernovas.

Oddly, fiat may be better.

Not that I don't hold gold.
