Irwin Corey is the guy in the middle.
You must be a young whippesnapper. By this fellow assuming the good professor's moniker, one can safely assume he is goofing. Your right, now isn't the time to tick off the good ones over there (but I gotta say, the political and military relations of the west and east isn't exactly a picture of conciliation).

We can not stop them from hating us, but we can take away their source of financing. That bears repeating.

"
Call me when they say something of substance. This is yet more rhetoric. They wouldn't know what or where the American Heartland is if you smacked him upside the head with an ear of corn."They had no trouble finding New York or have you forgotten 9/11?

Seems like the only criteria for "rising to the top" in a typical Middle Eastern country is
mental illness...
And isn't it the Liberals who demand that all American public school children be indoctrinated with the absurd notion that "All civilizations are equal"? DUH.

What a disgrace. You are certainly no professional medical doctor. A true doctor can analyze a problem and prescribe an appropriate treatment, not an overkill. I take it you're unaware of the origin of the screen-name "Irwin Corey." Well, it does go back a few years. Try a Google Search under "Professor Irwin Corey."

>>>If they attack, it will undoubtably stregthen the Mullah's hand, at least in the short term as nationalistic instincts take hold.
When you consider that over half the population of Iran would like to see the mullah despots fry, I say it depends on HOW YOU ATTACK and WITH WHO and WHAT. People don't like being sent off to torture if they can prevent it.
For all we know, the war may be ongoing, and this is just a peek at the future. Looks to me over the months since 9/11 the people of Iran may be doing the attacking, while we do the watching. Mullah despots know who is behind it, but don't or can't stop it.
You don't think for a minute that the people of Afghanistan loved the Taliban, do you? All you need is a few in-country willing to tell you what to target and where it is.

We attack them, they attack us or vice versa. Simple math of war. What's the big deal? What else would one expect.

Here's an article showing that the repressive regime is getting desperate because the Iranian masses are turning on them and becoming pro-American, and you want to nuke all of them? Provoke a much wider war when it may not be needed? That was my thought as well. I'm somewhat hopeful about Iran. Almost 50% of their population was born after the Hostage Crisis, and they have repeatedly shown that they disagree with the ruling theocrats and want pro-Western reforms. There is hope for a solid ally in the future there. It could even be that statements like Rafsanjani's will help inflame them, and cause them to act sooner, rather than vote later, for reform. Iran's vast experience at warring with Iraq just might come in handy, too. ;^)

I say we immediately smack down any government who makes overt threats of violence against the US and its interests. After one or two of these "states" were vaporized I think a lot of our problems would end. If there's any one adjective that describes these Middle East bastards it's "cowardly". After some of their bretheren fry the rest will be quite compliant.

I think you're on to something.

When oil prices get high enough the oil patch (Texas and Oklahoma) will begin producing again. Soon we will increase production in Russia and the "'Stans". I would imagine the Saudi royal family is in near panic that soon their oil revenues will be diminishing. The fact is we are beginning to take away their source of financing.

I find the title of this article misleading if you look at this excerpt: "
against the enemys attack by answering". Sounds like this would in response to an attack by us.
Interesting recently Fox News had an expert on basically saying that the current government is in jeopardy of being overthrown by a much more western friendly type of administration.
He sighted the way the Iranian people grieved over the events of Sept. 11th. Let's hope he's right.

I suspect that, in their limited knowledge of English, they meant to say "Strike at the heart of America," not "Strike at America's Heartland."
If they mistakenly intend the latter, I would suggest that us corn-pone fokes in the Midwest don't got none o' them fancy notions about political correctness, and we're as apt to clout a bunch of scrawny towlies upside the heads as we are to tolerate 'em.
These parasites find safety in liberal enclaves, which the Midwest does not boast in abundance.

Exactly.
The USA is better off spending our tax dollars on farking with them convertly than overtly. It's less risky. But once you consider the Persians have been the enemy since they starting writing stories of battle and wars (Xerxes or Darius regimes against democratic Greece) you realize it's not going to get fixed easily.

Saudi family panicked? L-O-L. They have more US $$'s than you can fathom. If things ever get dicey they are in Switzerland by sundown.
