The thing about freeping is that one cannot just do it in small doses. These threads take time. And while a freeper is in a thread, he or she is constantly wondering about (and checking on) what other threads he or she might be missing out on.

Freeping isn't an addiction. It's, um, err, a hobby. Yeah, that's it.

When I am overseas in Chiang Mai, Thailand, I keep up on FR by going to an internet cafe across from CM Univ.. The spooky thing is, from the history on the web browser, there are apparently at least a few others who frequent this web site!

You know you are a FR addict when the first thing you do upon discovering it is down is go to the FR yahoo group to see if it is, in fact, down. Then you breath a sigh of relief to see a message posted from John explaining why it is down and what the ETA is.

Oh my god! You feel this way too? When I'm glued to one thread and then glimpse another with a topic I'd usually check on it's like a slow creeping anxiety takes over. Glad I'm not the only one.
I'm going to visit my parents in Idaho in a few weeks and have already planned to download Netzero to a cd-rom so I can have access to the internet. My ISP dosen't operate out of CA.

OMG! We're going on vacation next winter and I'll be without FR for THREE WEEKS! What on earth were you thinking? lol Ya gotta plan ahead! I took a cruise with internet access and I vacation with relatives who have a computer! lol It's all in the planning :)

I just did the same thing and it hardly effected me at all, at all, at all.. I was trapped in a closed auto for a week with the wife who more than made up for the time she claims I wasted every day reading every single post every day on FR. She talked non-stop for the whole week. I have vague recollection of having listened now and then, but here I am back at FR, rested and ready.

7) While away from knowing eyes, and instead of picking up groceries right away, I walked into a Kinko’s and spent $6 for a half hour of access.

I feel hopeless. About the only thing I’ve found that helps is these meetings . . . and with that, I’ll keep coming back.

I know, I know. But it's three weeks in the Keys in the winter and we live in Wisconsin. We'll be gone so long, I'm already composing my "Farewell, FR" opus.
