This is sick, in my opinion. Larry campbell, and all involved should lose their jobs immediately. I have never had problems with him before, but this is too far. Those in the Sherrif's department should be charged with contributing to the delinquency of a minor here. There is no excuse to send a 17-year old into a sex store, just to see if they will sell to her.
And if you read, she is a "veteran" sting informant. Doesn't want to give her name. Wonder why(not).

The deputies were probably gettin' off on the whole thing. Still, not as bad as the cops who used an under-age teenager in a drug sting and got the poor kid killed.

teen-age girl - a high school senior who's frequently paid to do undercover alcohol buys That just isn't right. Hope her parents know

criticized deputies for exposing the 17-year-old to adult sex products Heh heh, I don't think the police force is a priesthood exactly, if you get my drift. :-) The irony.

Sheriff Larry Cambell added that while Over my Knee Part II</> was actually very well made and contains "some of the best evidence I've ever seen in my life - especially that scene with Asia and Amber," the XXX Files often go over the edge into perversion and debauchery. The DA's office had to obtain duplicate copies of both tapes after they mysteriously dissapeared from the Sheriff's Office evidence room.

I agree that the LCSD needs to go after the violent criminals, but those statistics are a little misleading. Tallahassee is relatively safe.

Being a narc is lame. Wasting valuable police resources cracking down on pornsters selling to underagers is lame unless the pornsters have a track record of selling to underage kids. If this is just one of those dragnet-type stings, then it's a huge waste of time.
To: FreeTally
Maybe they could find a thirteen year old to proposition the store owner then, after he has sex with her, they could arrest him... and give her $50 for her trouble.
THEN... they could arrest the girl for prostitution...

If this is just one of those dragnet-type stings, then it's a huge waste of time. I don't know if they have a track record of selling, and the article just mentions a "letter writing campaign" that can not be verified. Campbell has always hated "sex stores" and the like. I have never been in any of the four stores mentioned, but there is one not mentioned that I have been in before, and they ask for I.D. as soon as you walk in.
Leon County has had an ordinance banning nude performances for years. They tried their best to keep "sex stores" out, but lost. They are just trying to get rid of them any way they can.

I have just read through the comments. The porn merchants are really upset over this thing. Oh, well.

However, I do not think it can be intellgently disputed that Tallahassee is one of the more high crime metro areas in the nation. Buddy, I have lived here all of my life. There are quite a few break-ins and roberies, but a very low murder rate - a few a year. It's not Pleasantville, but its not Atlanta either.

Caste system alert: when you or I arrange for 17-year-olds to shop for sex videos (or to buy alcohol or drugs) that's a felony, but when the cops do it, it's to protect the community. Presumably from the likes of people who would do it who aren't cops.
To: FreeTally
I wonder if there's any way to find out how much money the local LEO's spend in those stores...
