I watched her stuttering adding the coins to one another. Eventually she would figure out that a nickle was five a dime ten and a quarter twenty-five. But she had to stop and think about every single coin often getting her first guess wrong. She spoke good non-accented english too so I don't think it could be a matter of her being transplanted form a different monetary system. It was one of the most pathetic scenes I had ever seen. I wanted to cry for her.
