Prosecutors rest case
DAN TREVAN / Union-Tribune
Tanya DuLaney, a San Diego police evidence technician, points to a spot in an interior photo of defendant David Westerfield's motor home where fiber evidence was obtained. Some of the fibers in the case suggest the girl may also have been in the defendant's SUV.
Damon van Dam has filed a motion to be readmitted into the trial of his daughter's accused killer, Judge William Mudd said today.
The judge barred the father from the courtroom and third floor of the San Diego County Courthouse on June 25 because he said Damon van Dam was stalking and trying to stare down Westerfield.
At the time, Mudd said he had reached the limit with the father and told him to leave.
Mudd said he will consider Damon van Dam's motion tomorrow.

The more odor at the site, the more insects. Little odor at the site

oftentimes, moisture settles underneath the body... the moisture would allow for animals to com ein (garbled)
...this was dry..a lot of moisture gives a lot of rotting and there wasn't a lot of rotting. There was no complexity of community..the body had been there a lot longer and there was no reason for insectes to remain there.

sometimes when a body is moved the odor stays there..there was very little odor.
He contracted poison oak on his arms?.. he was picking around plants on hands and kneeds up and down for about 2 hrs.

I am now convinced of two things.
1. DW did not place the body.
2. Some people can spin anything.

Beetles: adult beetles can come in at any time. Larvaes can offer a clue. Diversity of beetles can say how long the body was there..
adult beetles can come and go as they please. absence of grubs.....indicates the body's been there longer..some beetles are victimized by fly predators. :) weather is critical and is the most important factor in stages of development. The wrong temp reporting...can give a lot more variability in conclusion.
