Another nail in Davis's political coffin. Of course, since it's election year, we're not in a drought, either.

The CAISO is continuing to request additional Supplemental Energy bids during this period.

Why don't they call up some of the "energy pirates" and "gougers", eh?

I'd like to hear that conversation, "Hi Mirant, CA ISO here. Sorry about all that name calling last year. Do you have a cup of electricity we can borrow?"

Wow! Demand dropped like a rock. All I did was turn down my tanning bed.

Here's something really dramatic for you - during a particularly hot night last week we actually lost power!

And you know what happened a couple hours later? It came back on! Can you believe it?

Two Days in a row that CA reached a Stage 2 Emergency! (even if they didn't declare it on the first day)

Do you have a cup of electricity we can borrow?"

Sure, just go to Senator Dunn or Gov. Davis and they will fill it up for you...(/sarcasm)

Well, tomorrow's morning newspapers will be interesting to read, especially that now some of the reporters know the difference between an Emergency and an Alert.

I wonder when folks are going to question how many days this might go on this summer and the economic impact of shutting down industrial production every time the ISO reaches stage 2? Would make for a good editorial!

We don't have AC, but it's only 78 in the house right now. I know, I can go to the garage and fire up my arc welder!

I am afraid any reporting of this alert will be placed below the fold on page B-8.

For those with AC: Remember, computers put out a LOT of heat, which forces your air conditioner to work that much harder. So keep all the computers in your house on all night long!

And go stock up on a few cases of beer, warm beer. Then bring them home and put them in the fridge. That forces the fridge to burn more energy to get the temperature of all those 85-degree cans down!
