Dusek...DuPRICK

But it would have taken awhile for the mummification to take place, wouldn't it?

Dusek's failure to address the beetle larva problem is indicative that he wants to avoid it altogether Could be, we'll have to wait and see when the jury gets back..

I just heard Brenda Van Dam was not in court for this testimony.

My question about the timing of the mummification process in regards to the bugs, is for anyone, not just for Kim.

Pyx, can you explain the "absence of beetle eggs" thing? I really want to make sure I'm following you on this.
To: bolthead
Dusek said, in his opening statement to the Jury, that he would show how Westerfield committed this crime...I see no evidence of this, and neither has the Jury.

I don't know, that's a good question. One would suspect, if this witness doesn't explain it...a rebuttle witness may be called to explain that process by prosection.

Too bad we can't look up registration transfers of vechicles. I'd almost bet someone got a really good deal on a van around that time. Is this not highly suspicious behavior? You would think LE would have been all over this. I know if the boyfriend of that mother missing her little boy had up a sold a vechicle anywhere near the time he went missing they'd be all over it.

The reporter's guest steve also said that in comparision to the mountian of evidence the prosecution has this was in no way a slam dunk for the defense.
I'm so glad he cleared that up for us!
Anyone else listening to this on Realplayer?

Can you do a beetle larva recap for those of us who missed the beetle testimony? Faulkner stated that the maggots and fly larva establish that the latest date the body could have been deposited at the site was 10-12 days prior to discovery and Feldman got Faulkner to state, quite clearly, that the absence of beetle larva on/in the body pretty much establishes that the body was disposed at a time significantly later than the time after DW was being followed and a GPS device attached to his vehicles.
In other words, DW did not dispose of the body because he couldn't have based on the lack of beetle larva, an issue that is a huge problem for the prosecution and Dusek is obviously avoiding. If there was a decent explanation for this discrepency, would Dusek address it early on in his cross-examination. Maybe he is getting to it, but I suspect if he does, it wil be a very weak effort. Feldman said during his opening argument that the insect evidence would prove DW could not have murdered Danielle, and it looks like he will deliver on his promise.

Dusek ALSO told the jury, "And Barbara will tell you....."
It ain't happened, nor has Dusek shown the jury how Westerfield got in and out of the vdam house.
To: bolthead
That's assuming the evidence wasn't strong for the Jury..we are looking at it from a completely tainted view..because of independent researh and study.

Doesn't explain it. Mummification doesn't happen quickly. The bugs should have gotten there first. If she did die on 2/2 she was sealedup or frozen until the 16th.

i'm going to new thread...

Danielle's body was not exposed to insects before February 16, 2002.Sorry, that is not the testimony.
