Mubarak still protects the Moslem jihadists in his country. If he really wants to eliminate ALL of them, he certainly can. Remember the other dictator before him Nasser; he was able to suppress the heck out of these losers. The stupid Sadat, on the other hand, started to play footsy with them, to legitimize his rapprochement with Israel. They are like cobras, if you don't kill them, they will bite you the first chance they get!

I haven't seen '98 well sourced yet, but there do seem to be a lot of sources saying Zawahiri visited the U.S. (under an alias) in or around '95. No doubt you're right that this would have been more difficult after the attempt to assassinate Mubarak in Addis Ababa, but wasn't that in Dec. '95? According to this SF Chronicle report about Zawahiri thats frequently referenced, there is speculation (and probable deliberate misinformation) about the exact years Zawahiri visited the US.
Top bin Laden aide toured California
The only definite on the mosques he visited seems to be the Santa Clara mosque referenced in this story, and in a column today by Debbie Schlussel that makes some interesting links which unfortunately include the White House.

Mercury GSE says it was founded in 1948 by some Flying Tigers.
Mercury Air group says it was founded by Flying Tigers in 1956.
Can you direct me to some semtences that actually say they were/are related, before I get SUED?

Here you go. Not a direct relationship, perhaps, but certainly enough of an indication to infer that the Mercury GSE creation happened in the same timeframe as other Mercury Air corporate reshuffling and realignment. Even if incorrect, it'd certainly be an indication that you were a victim of understandable confusion as to the exact structure of the Mercury Air corporate house of cards, and weren't being intentionally malicious or reckless.
***** *****
From the Mercury GSE *history* webpage:
In 1948 Mercury was formed by ex Flying Tigers personnel to refuel and service aircraft at LAX. From 1960 to 1988 Mercury was the largest refueler and ground handling company on the West Coast of the U.S. For many years Mercury was the ground handler at LAX for British Airways, Qantas, Air France, UTA, Lufthansa, World Airways and others. Since 1988 Mercury has specialized only in the sale, lease or rent of GSE all over the world....

From Mercury Air Group's investors' biographies of company officers:
Joseph A. Czyzyk
President and Chief Executive Officer
Mr. Czyzyk has been President and a Director of Mercury since November 1994 and has served as Chief Executive Officer since December 1998. Mr. Czyzyk also served as President of Mercury Service, Inc., a discontinued division of Mercury which sold aviation fuel and provided refueling services for commercial aircrafts, from August 1985 until August 1988, and President of Mercury Air Cargo, Inc. (Mercury Air Cargo) from August 1988 until August 1997. Mr. Czyzyk served as an Executive Vice President of Mercury from November 1990 through November 1994. Mr. Czyzyk received a B.S. in Civil Engineering from California State University of Los Angeles and served in the U.S. Navy.

Thank you archy, I am now calming down from the heart attack I thought was coming!
I just hung up from speaking with "Mercury GSE."
The woman said that they have no relationship now with "Mercury Air".
She said they indeed in 1988 severed form Mercury Air.
She said that catagorically, HADAYET DID NOT WORK FOR THEM,NOW OR IN THE PAST.
She said that yesterday, a detective called and asked if Hadayet worked for them.
She told them NO.
So, we are back to "MERCURY AIR GROUP" being the only "Mercury" that could be an employer of Hadayet.
Is the President of Mercury lying, when he says that Hadayet dosn't work for them?
Is debka telling the truth?
Whew, I feel better!

And officials at Mercury Air Cargo, which is based at LAX, say Hadayet never worked for them, despite reports he had been employed by the ground services company during the time he was reportedly meeting with Al-Zawahri. Can you say independent contractor ? He probably was employed as an independent contractor and used a d/b/a.

Also two different birth dates, I believe. I continue to suspect that July 4th was not his real birth date, but chosen to make coded messages possible about the planned attack.

Well, remember that his wife said he called and it was his birthday.
but, what else does his wife say....he didnt do it!
If she is an active member of the terrorist structure, what does this mean?
Also, I have found mention that his father was ..".brigadeir in Egypt air defence in Egypt/Israli wars of 1967 and 1973."
Does this conflict with the father being an ex General in the Army?
Are all brigadeirs actually Generals?
Also, he is suspected of being part of the group that killed Sadat.
In searching for Hassan Mahfouz, the uncle that was first a general also, but later named an employee of the "Science Ministry of Egypt" I can't find him.
I do however, come up with somone by that name at Tuskeegee U.Mentioned in an untitled doc on google, having attended a kind of nano conference.
Could this be a son perhaps of the uncle?
Do you know if ME's attend or teach at Tuskeegee?

The article didn't say Hayadet didn't work for Mercury Air Group, or one of the other aviation-related [or other?] businesses under its corporate umbrella. Only Mercury Air Cargo:
Several reports about Hadayet also surfaced, but have been shot down. El Al officials have denied reports that the airline might have owed Hadayet money, which some speculated might have set him off.
And officials at Mercury Air Cargo, which is based at LAX, say Hadayet never worked for them, despite reports he had been employed by the ground services company during the time he was reportedly meeting with Al-Zawahri.
"We have never employed that person, at least not under that name," said Joe Czyzyk, CEO of Mercury Air Cargo. "I would be interested to know where that rumor started."
It's
Mercury Air Centers that's becoming particularly interesting.Watch for yet another interesting article to come from WND in the next day or so....

I'm sure they don't but the public seems willing to believe anything that the Government needs them to believe in order to promote a cause.

Searching for arabic names can be tricky. I've found for example Hadayet and Hedayet used interchangeably and as either last or first names(male & female).
Hadayets maternal aunts husband's full name is Hassan Mustafa Mahfouz
Also found the following at the Cairo Times. Can anyone parse and explain why Hala's full name is so different then her husband's?
"Hadayets double murder has now taken over their lives, from the crowd of journalists that lays siege to their apartment across from the Abbasiya cathedral to the persistent questioning by State Security. Hadayets wife, Hala Muhammad Sadek Al Awadli, has been taken for questioning at the Interior Ministrys infamous Lazoghli building on a daily basis. She continues to refuse to believe that Hadayet was responsible for the double murders."
To: Fithal the Wise
You got me!
I dont know why the wifes name is so different.
Maybe she really isnt his wife?
I know that "bin" means "son of".
I go crazy looking up the ME names.
I am sure I am missing a lot of them on google.
