I could be wrong, but it seems to have gotten worse. I know so many women who are married to dysfunctional children. I didn't see this as much with my parents' generation. I wonder if it has to do with the rise in divorce rates or?
They have done studies that show that girls who grow up without fathers are more sexual in order to attract a "daddy" figure. That would explain a lot of this, but...
Even at our church, we have noticed girls coming in with their parents, dressed incredibly immodestly. What is wrong with these parents? I have a four (almost five) year old daughter and we talk about how some people dress nasty and that it's not appropriate. I want her to be aware of it early on, so it won't come as a surprise when she's not allowed to dress like that!
They get angry when the wrong guys look at them.
If you are Justin Timberlake, it's OK.
You hit the nail on the head, at least in my perspective. I was in high school in the mid-70's. Some girls dressed in mini-skirts and tight jeans, but managed to look half-way respectable. It wasn't until Madonna made the scene that I noticed 12-13 yr old girls dressed like streetwalkers. Young that I still was, I thought it was bizarre that parents would let their young daughters dress like that.
Seen that.
Saw exactly that on the French Riviera in 1961 (in my youth). Some of the French teen aged girls would simply leave their jeans completely unbuttoned in front. Don't get too worked up.
[We all know how decadent the French are, don't we?]
FYI - Abortion is murder.
No. Little boys have problems with reconciling their own sexual experience with that of their wives.
Men don't.
Are you really so naive that you don't understand that women lust?
Sorry. This thread won't help you then. Might not want to read it. :)
So.... because it's stain, or sequined or shows off 'way too much skin' lol... I'm a nut job?
It isn't occuring to you to understand that 4 yr olds ARE NOT SEXUAL is it?
Sigh.... What is the matter with you that you READ SEXUALITY into the dress of a 4yr old?????
I think one of the greatest ironies of our time is that...in the name of men's liberation...our young men are being trained to act like Hugh Hefner...becoming the most selfish and irresponsible men...Someday. they will wake up old, used, alone , with genital herpes and HIv, probably childless, certainly detached...It's a man's world afterall.
Reminds me of a song:
Someone played a trick on me
They set me up so perfectly
They gave me their morality
And then changed the rules except for me
Someone must be laugin' now
Although it don't seem funny somehow
How the world's accepting now
What they once would not allow
Back in my younger days
The world has changed in so many ways
-- "Halfway to Heaven" Harry Chapin (1974)
On the other hand, lazy scumbag parents who don't give a crap can reap what they sow. The only thing that bothers me is that I am pretty sure that somehow, some of the money confiscated from me by liberal big scumbag government will end up paying for young, single slut-mothers and their litters.
I really would like to hit it big someday so I can scoot out and find a "tax haven" someplace nice.
The problem is, there aren't many clothing options available. I manage, but it isn't easy to allow her to dress fashionably without looking like a Tenth Avenue hooker. She's a normal teen who wants to fit in. Same thing with my son, who also goes to a Catholic High School. The young men there are all sporting Abercrombie clothes. I incessantly point out to him the fag factor of Abercrombie, and he agrees. So many kids have so much money. Really, we are a nation of idolators. Not to start preaching, but a return to the virtue of modesty is sorely needed. Modesty, chastity, and the most important virtue: charity. Without charity towards each other, men particularly toward what they ask of women, and chastity will be hard to achieve. V's wife.
