re: The American people are a little smarter than Daschle and Gephardt give them credit for. Don't be so sure about this. Just the fact those guys got elected proves we're a nation of idiots!

"I wish that were true. But then how do you explain eight years of Clinton, and
a decidedly pro-Clinton public opinion during the whole impeachment thing?"
That's easy. The American public had not yet gotten to know President Bush. Now they know what a REAL president is, and they like it.

Bush's speech should have a single theme: "The days of the SEC turning a blind eye to corporate corruption ended when Bush took office".
Bush should make it plain that these scandals are comming to light because the SEC (under Bush) is now doing its job. New laws aren't needed, we just need the ones we have now to be enforced.

Who is Bill Clinton? He's a Globetrotter; based in Harlem.

I'm glad the information was helpful! I am curious whether his past conduct will surface in the investigations. That is one example of what could happen if the Democrats continue to try to blame Bush and the Republicans for corporate misconduct IMHO.

I think that most people get where all this permissiveness came from and I think that 9/11 was a turning point where everyone a "Moonstruck - Snap out of it!" moment.

Good to see you, too!!! I'll try to be ready with information whenever the allegations fly.

Thanks for the ping. If he wanted to take credit for the great economy that #41 Bush left him, then it's only right for the US to blame Clinton for the
poor economy. I'm jumping up and down with glee! :-)
He (Bill Clinton) deserves every bit of dirt that gets thrown on him. He didn't get OBL when he had the chance, his dirty business dealings with Whitewater and Hillary's Cattle Futures debacle just go to show you that what goes around comes around.
The press must really think we are so frigging stupid. ;-)

Is CNN still on the air? They must have been so upset when they did this poll and got THESE results....I'm sure they were expecting most Americans to blame George W. Bush. I wish I could have been a fly on the wall when they read the results! LOLOL! ;-)

51 percent of Americans surveyed agreed that President Clinton's "moral failings in office" contributed to the permissive climate that encouraged corporate leaders to behave unethically. Only 51%? It should be much, much, much higher.
To: Huck
"The results are surprising. I'd like to see it reported by a source a little more reliable than NewsMax. Maybe DEBKA."If you are talking about who conducted the poll, it was a CNN/Gallop poll. If you're not and you are talking about NewsMax being the ones reporting it, do you really think, in all honesty, the the Clinton News Network would report ANYTHING that reflects badly on Bubba??? I think not. ;-)

When Clinton was in office, I was continually dismayed at how every day the moral goalposts appeared to be lowered and how tolerant the public seemed to be of this lowering...now I am comforted that many are understanding what was lost, and maybe it can be regained.

From your mouth to God's ears!! So be it Lord!
To: kattracks
Hmm, looks like Americans are finally wising and waking up! God bless America!
To: RoseofTexas
So be it Lord! Barring abject repentence on his part, it will be. That's a promise.

They do it so often, one wonders how they know what is a foot, uh, so to speak.
To: Semper Paratus
