Sniff.
This is new? This writer should do some cultural research, for a change, instead of reading other jouralists. For years anti-French quips were prevalent in the culture - just check out David Letterman for one. Instead we get the usual shallow lefty dreck, always trying to "Israelize" it, and blaming Le Pen - which had nothing to do with those feelings.
I wonder if this woman is old enough to recall the Libyan bombing run incident - when France refused us overflight. That is a big source of the sentiment. That, and reading for years what the French chatterers say about us americans might gain a disfavorable image of the accusers.
The professor at the end has an interesting point, but the journalist seems unaware of its import.

France has never forgiven the United States for coming to their aid in WW1, and saving their butts in WW2. The Socialist government acts just like our own Liberal politicians and media. For the most part, they have always hated Americans.

France is a beautiful country, despite the unfortunate circumstance of it being populated.

No kidding. How about our problem with Admiral Darlan in WWII as one example among many?

Ah, the French, they're always there when they need us!
They have brought a lot of our current troubles upon us. Remember, before the Shah of Iran fell, Ayatollah Khomeni was the honored guest of France. If they had just tossed his ragheaded butt in a cell, and forgot the location, the Islamic Republic of Iran, importer of Muslim claptrap, would have never gotten started.
Of course, if Jimmy Carter had never spouted his "human rights" claptrap, we'd be OK now, too!

Interesting that this article says nothing about a fundamental philosophical clash between France and America. France is a country where your slot in life is decided by a test you took when you were 12. France is a country ruled by elite graduates of the elite school of bureaucratic arrogance. Americans, on the other hand, have much more respect for the school of hard knocks, for resourcefulness, persistence, willingness to listen and learn from people who didn't get straight A's. France loves mandarin intellectuals with grand plans. We have no use whatsoever for people with grand plans to reorganize the world. We see France as ruled by snobbish mandarins who think they're smarter than us and resent our success. France sees us as ruled by redneck rubes.

America is not the only nation regarding the French with contempt. We Hungarians hate them, too. So do the British. And the Germans--and, and, and...Well, it pretty much seems like the Frenchies are experts at not being liked by anyone!

The peak of French cultural advancement was the invention of the bidet. Why they won't wash the rest of their bodies is still a mystery.

Oh for crying out loud "Francophobia "? Who on this earth is afraid of France? LOL I guess no one, except for the French themselves, of course. It has become something like a routine for French farmers to block roads with their trucks and for the French government to give in to all their demands.
A couple of months back, I saw a thirld-world leader on CNN imploring the EU not to send them any aid but to open their markets instead. It would benefit almost everyone in France--but it won't happen, because the chickens in charge are scared of the farmers...

The French aided 13 rebellious colonies of Great Britain, a monolithic empire in her time and a royal navy that ruled the high seas. If not for france my country tis of thee would be god save the queen. The statue of liberty was a gift from france. Why has the relationship soured?
