Television station WCVB reported that the good news is pouring out -- beer builds bones. A new study shows beer is rich in the mineral silicon.

Seems to me that if beer is rich in silicon, that it would build something else in women besides stronger bones...

That's OK, I'll bring my own--don't need them trying to foist Coors Light or some other equally noxious American beer on me :)

They used to sell beer in vending machines in Japan up until a few years ago...

Microbrew Bump:

You probably can't get this stuff in Texas, but be sure to try it if you ever visit our lovely Commonwealth. A brittle-boned barbarian is not good.

This is great. I finally have a report to counter what my wife throws at me weekly.

The locals in Pottsville have called this Vitamin Y for some time. Guess they were on to something...

I continually told my late wife that beer was a health food. Too bad she couldn’t read this – but maybe she is.

I hope all those countless pitchers I shared in the past will protect me into the future.

Maybe I should stop for a Killian tonight just in case.

Ya just gotta find a better grade of American beer. As the Monty Python joke goes, how is American beer and sex in a canoe alike? They're both [expletive] close to water!

Agree 100 percent on Coors - when I lived in Colorado, what I missed most was Yuengling beer from PA...

Beer. They drink it, smoke it, snort it, inject it...

Of course, there's this stuff, too:

if you can handle it. It seems appropriate for a barbarian, somehow... :)
