Being talked about locally today. Just when you think it can't get any worse, it does.

I read this article on another board. I can't get to the article through your link -- painfully slow. I do remember that the representative from Planned Parenthood said she found the idea that their records could be searched "appalling" and my first thought was why didn't she think that a shredded baby was appalling. This is a sick and sad story.

According to Carol Everett, one time abortion provider, babies are routinely put down commercial-grade garbage disposals.

This is appalling...

Off topic - but does anyone remember that O'Reilly episode where he interviewd that nurse - her hospital performed late term abortions - they would deliver the babies then just leave them in another room and wait for them to die...and to top it off this was a Catholic hospital.

If you can get the main page to load, click on crime/courts.

Then scroll down to the headline for the article:

Official faces jail in probe of death of baby.

I changed the title, not to be sneaky, but to make it a little clearer for those who may have interest.

I'm using an older browser and it was all I could do to find the article myself.

No, sorry, I've never watched O'Reilly. I've read about what you said and am not too surprised it happened in a catholic hospital. I think most catholic hospitals try very hard to avoid such things, but the way hospitals have had to consolidate, it gets a little murkier.

My brother lives and teaches in Storm Lake. I thought it was a very nice conservative community when I have visted. I'm surprised at this.

My brother is one of the lead accountants at a Catholic hospital here in Tennessee. They shut down their OB/GYN division a couple years ago so that they wouldn't have to deal with women wanting/demanding abortions.

In general, I think it is a nice conservative community. That adds to the shock factor in this case imo. Iowa hasn't been immune to its share of atrocities regarding abandonment of newborn babies.

What surprises me is that the stigma is not nearly so bad about illegitimacy as it used to be. Even when there was much stigma attached to out-of-wedlock pregnancies, you seldom heard of such behavior.

It is ironic to me that despite the availability of abortion, the lessening of stigma, that such callousness towards the newborn seems to be on the rise. It could be a result of the culture of death, drugs may be involved, etc.

Don't you think the employees of the center didn't know what they were shredding? Yes, whichever way it is, it is a gruesome, grisly matter.

And I thought Planned Parenthood was to solve the problem. That's a shame that they had to do that, but if that was their only option, I don't blame them.

They've been shredding babies for decades. This time, however, it was a late LATE term abortion. Nothing to see here, move along...

I first found out about it when my niece was born. Gary told me that they were going to Baptist for the delivery and I asked why they weren't doing it at his hospital.

I agree with you, I hate that they had to do it, but apparently they had been threatened with a suit for not offering to provide abortions (I can't say how true that is, but it's what my brother told me was part of the primary reasoning).

Sort of a mechanized Molech, when you think about it...

>According to Carol Everett, one time abortion provider, babies are routinely put down commercial-grade garbage disposals.

Because of Clinton, you can put a live baby in a blender...for the money.  It should have stopped with GWB, but did not.  Look at this piece from November 2000:

"Dr. Peter Adam of Case Western Reserve and his colleagues in Finland had already published in Medical World News their experiments on babies' heads "isolated surgically from the other organs." And The New England Journal of Medicine had already reported that live aborted babies were dropped into a Ten Broeck tissue grinder to "homogenize" their "material."

"President Bush issued a presidential order banning the use of federal funds for fetal human-to-human transplants, but in 1993 President Clinton's first act in office was to rescind his predecessor's order.  This reversal resumed the flow of federal dollars to fund fetal tissue research.  Of course under federal law the sale of fetal tissue was still illegal.  But soon after Clinton's action, an ad in the guidebook of the National Institutes of Health, a federal agency, offered to "supply tissue from normal or abnormal embryos and fetuses of desired gestational ages between 40 days and term. Specimens are obtained within minutes of passage…and immediately processed according to the requirements of individual investigators….""  The Harvest of Innocents (Who are the real estremists?)

See also, 23 on separate thread.   G.W. Bush's first act in office should have been to stop the murder and to rescind the above order!  Did he?  The Democrats and the Republicans are doing a dance step together to the left.   See this article - The Power Elite & George W. and on the same thread, this excellent post by Uncle Bill:  25

Which is higher on the scale of right and wrong, Speech or Human Life?  If they can deny the Free Speech of an innocent baby by murdering it and parting it out for sale like car parts, they can do the same to adults.  Or they can try.   Dan 11:32 And such as do wickedly against the covenant shall he corrupt by flatteries: but the people that do know their God shall be strong, and do exploits.
