OK, who are you and what did you do with the real Pat Buchanan?

You know the one I am talking about... The one who TRIED TO ELECT Al Gore. The one whe claimed Al Gore was better qualified to be president. The one who claimed Bush was a globalist tool for the NWO... Who claimed that 'there is not a dimes worth of difference between Al and George.' The one who referred to GW as "baby Bush." The one who claimed that the Buchanan voters in Palm Beach really meant to vote for Gore, implying that Gore should have been the winner in the presidential contest. The one who claimed "victory" in Michigan because the Reform Party candidate took just enough votes from conservative Republican Spencer Abraham to give the election to pro-abortion, higher taxes, liberal Democrat Debbie Stabenow. [And thus the Democrats control the Senate and Bush's judicial nominations.]

You mean the America First candidate that is supporting Bush when he sticks up for American interests? The one that has advocated control of our borders if we are going to remain a viable country? The one that has insisted that we not get involved in the peacekeeping missions that the UN keeps planning?

The one that has advocated us getting out of the UN? The Bush administration seems to be taking up some of the Buchanan initiatives, even if Buchanan tried to get Gore elected. Even the Republicans are coming around to the idea that some Buchanan principles resonate with the American people. Oh happy days!

GW has never come across as a globablist, and he is sticking to his guns on that issue. It is probably the biggest reason to support Bush. Hopefully Bush can stick to his guns on taxes and maybe one day get around to at least slowing the growth of government.

Yes, we are talking about the same man who, if listened to in 2000, would have given us President Gore.

And somehow I don't buy the idea that Bush, Cheney and Rumsfeld hold secret meeting in the secure Situation Room below the Oval Office, listening to old Pat Buchanan speeches to see which ones they can implement.

George W. Bush did not change. Pat Buchanan simply changed his perspective of the man he hates.

I applaud Bush in this case ---but there are times he comes across as a globalist ---when he suggests a world welfare system paid for by American taxpayers and when he goes along with President Fox on ending US sovereignty over the US.

Its about damn time RINO President Bush does something right for the country for a change! I have been really sickened by his seemingly never-ending betrayals of conservative principles and of the Republican Party as well typified by his principleless signature of the Democrap Congressional Majority Insurance Bill (CFR) earlier this year. Hopefully, in 2004, the GOP grassroots will have the vision to nominate a conservative as their presidential candidate something they failed to do in 2000.

I think Pat has been and will continue to be proved "right" over the years. But I don't think the American people will ever catch on to Pat's wisdom. Of course, I disagree strongly with Pat on the Middle East.

You never seem to know where Buchanan is coming from. I have read him and totally agreed with his logic, then again, we have the "elect Al Gore Buchanan" and we wonder. This article is well written, and totally on line in my book. I like to think Buchanan is one of our own, but in my heart I know he does not belong, and I think he knows it.
