Sundquist's complex proposal would......create a relatively small income tax, just 1 percent, effective next January. Voters would be asked to approve a constitutional convention, and if they rejected such a convention, then the income tax rate would increase to 3.5 percent on Jan. 1, 2005.

See what this sneaky scumbag is doing here?
He could have made the income tax a half percent. It doesn't matter. The objective is simply to get an income tax - - any income tax - - on the books. They can always raise it later. And again later. And again later....

Surely, the non-parasite Tennesseeans aren't stupid enough to fall for this....?

I heard a traffic report this morning in which we were reminded "be sure that you have plenty of gas and your car is in good working order as TDOT trucks are not on the road to help you."

Tennessee has a socialized AAA? Wow!
Here in Pennsylvania if we want emergency road service we have to join triple-A or some other automobile club and pay annual fees for help on the road.

Socialized health care, socialized automobile club - - no wonder Tennessee's scumbag politicians (Scumquist and the liberals) have their panties in a wad about confiscating more money from productive citizens.

After I posted regauding the TDOT trucks, I heard that these were part of a Federal program that the state had accepted money for, and therefore could not shut the service down.

Good to see that our legislators are equal opportunity liars, as they are not descriminating between lying to voters and lying to Federal bureaucrats.
