When I was a 'hippie', I had a boyfriend who was arrested while high on pot and in possession of same. He hung himself in his jail cell. I would agree he had some big emotional issues (and used pot to get away from them), but the pot contributed to his actual suicide in that it served to enhance the 'size' of those problems in his mind. And please spare me the 'pot doesn't do that kind of thing' argument. I used to smoke it, so I know better.

You hung yourself in a jail cell too?

"Elements of our government make a fortune on the supply side of this,"

I must presume you are either refering to the occasional corrupt cop or are experiencing paranoid delusions from excessive use of cannibis. LOL

So rather than address the reality, you make a stupid comment? Hmmmmm. . .perhaps there should be a study on the affects of cannibas on the ability to present an intelligent argument.

I believe you. I never said it was harmless, but it is certainly less harmless than cigarettes and alcohol intoxication. But let's not lock people up who smoke it if they don't endanger others.

I never said it was more harmful than alcohol or cigarettes. Just that it is harmful if used habitually and/or in unsafe situations (and of course, if caught using where it is illegal).

LOL - when you make a serious argument, rather than presenting silly anecdotes, you can reasonably expect serious responses... ;)

I agree with you, her idiot boyfriend who she has said has major issues, off's himself in a jail cell, so she blames it on pot. Give me a break, if he was that high, he wouldn't have the motivation to do it.

People get over it, Pot, is less harmful, less addicitive, less habit forming, and easier to quit, than booze, cigarettes, and coffee.

"Health officials in Geneva have suppressed the publication of a politically sensitive analysis that confirms what ageing hippies have known for decades: cannabis is safer than alcohol or tobacco."

Yeah, rrriiiight! It only has 8 time the tar and nicotine of tobacco!

Thanks for the Leftist hippy conspiracy crap. Very entertaining! I take it you're no stranger to Tin Foil?

ME...Middle East...Goody...you're one of the "good" Muslims.
Since you don't have a flag up it could be Maine Goody, but I'll go with my first guess.

I'd say the only way the pot contributed to his suicide was because it was illegal. Arrest and incarceration can be traumatic experiences. That being said, decrim State's are the safest bet for those foolish enough to consider their bodies their own.

"According to a document leaked to New Scientist, the analysis concludes not only that the amount of dope smoked worldwide does less harm to public health than drink and cigarettes, but that the same is likely to hold true even if people consumed dope on the same scale as these legal substances."

Oh, yeah, that's some real proof alright! What document? Leaked to whom specifically? What is a "New Scientist" anywany? Admit it- you made this shit up!

There's no nicotine in marijuana. Please limit specious claims to those which aren't patently untrue.

Alcohol can cause Fetal Alcohol Syndrome, there's no comparable Fetal Marijuana Syndrome. Alcohol is the only drug that has damaged entire societies. The War on Pot is stupid, stupid, stupid, destructive and unconstitutional.

Good luck with that one, not that it'll help.

you might want to check your own tin foil, it may be wrapped a little to tight. I am looking for the studies now, and will help you find them if wind doesn't beat me to it. You probably won't pay any attention to them anyway.

Face it Pot is less harmful, less addictive, and easier to quit, than any of the following, cig's, booze, and coffee
