Yes, Gore's again in the process of another political makeover. He's "authentic" and "existentially honest" now. He will be recreated as a man who says what he thinks and does what is right. He will be recreated as a kind of existential hero, untainted by eight long years of Clinton corruption.

In other words, the polling shows that the voters don't trust him and are suspicous of his motives. The solution? To make Gore into a real straight shooter.

Now 2004 is appearing on the horizon, and something tells me that we are going to have to do it all over again.......with a greater sense of urgency if we can muster it.
