Last year the town of Belle Meade, a wealthy Nashville suburb of about 3,000 people that does not operate a school system or levy a property tax, got $2.8 million from the Hall tax. Van Buren County, which does operate a school system, got $882.

In fact, of all 95 county governments, none got as much Hall money as Belle Meade. Shelby, the state's most populous county, received just over $2 million. Knox got $806,000.

Have any of you noticed that Al Gore does his best to imitate Ronald Reagan's body language. I honestly believe Al Gore has never discovered himself. He's not sure who the hell he is, much less become spontaneous. The only way Al Gore is going to be spontaneous is if he suddenly burst into flames
