Hair she recovered from the scene---not underarm--under the body, was the hair that did not match to DW or Danielle.

I was not trying to say they were! I was explaining the standard they must use.

Did she say whether it was human or animal hair?

I heard that, but I think it was a weak arguement. Something tells me that if they had only found "red", we'd be talking about how rare "red" was.

The fibers need to be tied down to a source.

It depends on what the fiber is made of. Polyester fibers tend not to shed except on raw edges. If it was the lining of the jacket the jacket would be ripped. There is spun polyester, usually used in thread though.

Natural fibers tend to shed alot. It also depends on the size of the fiber. That is long-staple or short-staple, which refers to the length of the fiber that is spun to make the thread used in the weaving process. Long-staple thread is more durable because the twisted fiber is longer, thus strong. Short-staples tend to shed more because of all of the short ends used in the spinning process. Clear as Mudd?

so the orange fibers in question are like 1.5" long - not long enough for my wig idea.

He's certainly going after answers "blowing in the wind" at this point. More specifically, from one end of the county to the other!

The witness seems to think they're the type of fibers found in a blanket or afghan.

EEEEEwwwwww. My sister looked at a house about 5 years ago that was decorated exactly that way. I had nightmares about it. It still gives me chills. Avocado Green/Harvest Gold.

Rheo, I really think she said she said red fibers found were visually similar but further examination showed they were not. Transcript review when possible.

I don't think it's from the jacket - cuz they'd be able to show that the inside of the jacket was damaged.

Could red fibers become sun bleached and look an orange color if left outside for a couple weeks?
