"...do you reckon there's a single thing we stubborn souls can agree on?!?"

How 'bout let's start with a smaller, less-intrusive Federal Leviathan and a stricter adherence to our Constitution?! We can play it by ear after that...

"How about fighting the the Dem governor and his tax increase. If so, we could throw our lot in with organizations like the Family Foundation of Virginia, the Prince William County Taxpayer's Alliance, the Virginia Young Republicans, the Arlington County Taxpayers Association, the Fairfax County Taxpayer's Alliance, Club for Growth, National Taxpayer's Union, and a Libertarian organization."

Sounds like a plan...

"Can we hold our Old Dominion Chapter meetings at the Dixie Pig Bar-b-que?"

I'm a bit partial to Pierce's, but where's the Dixie Pig?!

"A VA FReeper Chapter most definitely would not support any RINO. In fact, we would be FReeping them at their rallies."

The Dixie Pig is on Jeff Davis Hwy (Rt 1) in Alexandria. Your Richmond location would be better as it's more central. I'm not sensing a very high level of interest by Old Dominion freepers at this point in time, however.

A few of us will need to do whatever upfront stuff's required and give it a whirl...I reckon folks will be more enthused in the Fall Election Season.

BadJoe, far be it from me to pour cold water on a legitimate effort of political activism--I do think we shoud do all that we can to influence our fellow citizens to vote as we believe they should--but isn't it a bit presumptuous to conclude that 20,000 folks--mostly lurkers--on an Internet website are responsible, at least in significant part, for the impeachment of Bill Clinton?

Far be it indeed, but yet, here you are! We had the telephones on capital hill ringing during the impeachment. The protests MrConfettiMan and Kristin held every week reached thousands and thousands of people. The protests held around the country reached hundreds of thousands.

I saw the phones in senators offices ringing. Yeah, all anyone got was a tick mark but each one counted...just like a vote. When we were delivering 100 copies of Alamo Girl's opus to each senator I had 3 different aides tell me we were instrumental and several others told me they were on our side but didn't dare voice their true opinions. OK, we didn't do it alone, but I don't think saying FR was instrumental in the impeachment is too much of a stretch.

A Dec. 10, 1998, Gallup Poll showed 63 percent of Americans said the House Judiciary Committee should not recommend impeachment of Clinton to the full House.

Anyone with sense knows at least 63%, if not 95%, of Americans are completely dense when it comes to political issues. If you get all your information from the big 3 networks then by definition, you are a woefully misinformed liberal.

We're going to be getting a lot of traffic between now and the elections. We need people posting the differences between democrats and republicans instead of busting each other in the chops. Freepers can, and do, make a difference.

Hmmm, this is an interesting idea. Elect demonrats and federal control, authority, and power grows. Elect republickins and federal control, authority, and power grows. The only difference is which areas these things happen in. Quite convenient for the totalitarian minded since the country is divided about 50/50 and every 4 years they get to work on a different angle.
