I would rather not accept the asisstance of a former KKK recruiter.

And why should we pick and choose among "educated, skilled, healthy, English speakers" who have legally applied? Why not allow ALL of them in?

I do not want welfare sponges, criminals, those with communicable diseases, or terrorists in this country. They should be deported. Those who are here to work or start a business should be welcomed with open arms.

Those who entered the country illegally who fall into the crooks/welfare sponges/terrorists ought to be kicked out. Those in the other category should be allowed to remain, and made legit, and we combine that with very tough border and visa security measures that would be in place at the time a 245i extension expires.

That is, in my opinion, the most effective solution to illegal immigration.

Of course, as a heretic and a RINO, my views or ideas don't count in your mind.

"How do you do that? Deny the liberals a majority in the Senate. Deny them control of the Congress. Keep them out of the Whitehouse. Deny them control of your local governments. "

Repeal the 17th! Much of this liberal/socialist control goes away......

Repeal the 16th and the socialist tree dies.

To do that we need:

2/3 of the House
2/3 of the Senate
majorities (or more) in 75% of the state legislatures

How do we get there from here?

"Of course, as a heretic and a RINO, my views don't count in your mind."

You forgot to mention raving lunatic. LOL!

It's not that your views don't count, it's that they're too absurd to take seriously.

Where are we going to put everybody that wants to come here?

How many people can the United States accomodate, 1 billion, 2 billion, 5 billion?

You're not making any sense.

"How do we get from here to there"

Deport all of the illegal alien, "liberals/socialists" voters, to start.

Coming from someone who gladly accepted assistance from a former Klan recruiter, I find your statement and characterization of me quite ironic.

How did you deduce that, Sherlock?

LOL!

Posts 552 and 560 left me with the impression you were glad he helped stop 245i.

In my response in Post 557, I put a link to a thread on this forum that discussed the "honorable" senator's past in the KKK. I could probably dig up a few more threads and articles that expose his past.

Like this one by Michelle Malkin: http://www.capitalismmagazine. com/2001/march/mm_byrd_kkk.htm

I may be somewhat off on the gladly portion of my statement, but you appear quite happy that Byrd stopped the extension of 245i.

I'm just glad 245i was stopped! Period!

How many people in the United States is too many, 1 billion, 5 billion? What's your cut-off?

The fact was, you were so determined to stop it, you didn't look beyond to see what the possible COST of stopping it could be (although, if I were the RNC, I'd probably use Byrd stopping it to set up a nice little ad pointing out Byrd's Klan connections that would air in Hispanic markets - it would be so nice to play the race card on the Dems for a change).

As for what my cutoff is, I don't have one. I reject the doom-and-gloom outlook over this entire immigration issue that you and others have. Yes, some people who should not have gotten in are in: the welfare sponges, the criminals, and others of that nature. But there are people here who are working, and assimilating into American culture, and I refuse to throw them out of the county.

People whine how there are too many people. We'll run out of food, our standard of living will decline, and so on and so forth. Sounds a lot like Malthus, and in my opinion, he proved to be full of crap.

What "possible cost of stopping it" are you talking about? There wasn't any cost in stopping it. The cost would have been in not stopping it.

If you don't have any idea how many people the United States can support, then you're just talking through your hat. Why should any of us even pay attention to you?

You sound like a little kid trying to get attention by saying the most outrageous thing that comes into your head.

At least I have evidence for what I say. Look at the last election. Vote fraud was rampant by illegal aliens and alot of elections were lost. Bush won by the skin of his teeth and now, thanks to Bush, there's even more illegal aliens.

The thing I hate most about this thread is the fact that your headline is such a huge lie.

Immigration is a big deal to the GOP especially the California GOP. Pete Wilson signed and strongly supported prop. 187 and for his trouble the (Democrat dominated) court stopped it, Republicans were defeated and trashed as hispanic-hating bigots ever since by the radical immigrant lobby mobilizing the hispanic voter.

Since hispanic Democrats now control California and probably Arizona, New Mexico and Texas...it will take a huge push on the part of conservatives to overcome this travesty. But it's probably already too late.

Childishly bashing Jim with such a loopy vanity will help nothing. If you've been a conservative for any amount of time, you must have noticed that not everyone on our side is rabid and biting nails over every single issue. This ignorant standard of obsessive purity and required fury are some of the most destructive elements of the right.

No one ever sees the mouth-breathers at DU attacking each other over crap like this. It's disgusting that our side continues to make new inroads in self-mulitation.

Hopefully, because 4Freedom is using facts and logic to arrive at a reasonable conclusion rather than advocating policy seemingly based on nothing more than pointless "the more the merrier" and "we are a nation of immigrants" type clichés.

Childishly bashing Jim with such a loopy vanity will help nothing.

Childishly bashing of Jim? All I did was to quote Jim Robinson's position on immigration, which was, "Immigration is not a big concern of mine."

Can you quote me where I was Childishly bashing Jim Robinson? I don't think that exist anywhere, except your imagination.

If you've been a conservative for any amount of time,

You have no idea Missy.

you must have noticed that not everyone on our side is rabid and biting nails over every single issue.

Where on this thread was I "rabid" over this issue?

This ignorant standard of obsessive purity and required fury are some of the most destructive elements of the right.

Ignorant standard of obsessive purity? This issue is about millions upon millions of illegal aliens that have criminally invaded our nation and continue to do so, at the rate of thousands a day.

A crisis that was once isolated to California, Texas, and Arizona has now reached all corners of this nation. This illegal invasion is compounded by the problems of unchecked, and unmanaged legal immigration, in a war time period yet.

Now, could you explain what you meant by ignorant standard of obsessive purity, that you think is surrounding this titanic national crisis?

"How do we get there from here? "

It cannot be done! My tongue-in-cheek statement was tantamount to saying: "Let's just re-establish the Constitutional Republic left to us by the Founders."

There are too few left alive who can remember what it was like to live in a society where "individual" freedom, liberty, and thought were still real-life posibilities.

Most who could have remembered even a relative degree freedom are now at ground temperature. Most of the sheeple think they are free.

T.R.'s creation of the property-confiscation rackets, the 16th, the 17th, and the War Powers Act, all picked up where Lincoln left off.....hastening the Nation to the edge of the abyss at which it now stands.

No...there is nothing that can be done to return the Nation to it's Republic past. We have been given the opportunity, however, to participate in the beginnings of mankind's longest and darkest period of tyranny.

Nope. Maybe in about a thousand years something can be done. Reagan was correct.

Give it a rest. Conservatives aren't created equal. Neither Bill Bennett or Jack Kemp think illegal immigration is a big deal. Strange, but true.

Posting a vanity to go on and on about is boring and if continuous anti-immigration threads blossom daily in the forum, we and Jim will be accused of bigotry/racism/hate speech blah blah blah.

You made your case. Enough.
